And I can't wait to see my friend there again too!! Meeting Betsy was one of My favorite parts of the weekend!!

Rocio - you will totally meet people! I did princess 2011 solo (the whole weekend) and was waaaaay out of my comfort zone but there are plenty of solo runners who you can chat with. What's great about these Disney races is that we are all in it together!!

Hello all! My training is going well. Slow, but that's ok. I had a really REALLY tough go at the Bronx 10 miler last Sunday but I'm just using it as a motivator. What doesn't kill me makes me stronger. It's also reminding me to pay attention to my eating habits too!!

Hope everyone has great runs this week!:lovestruc

Yay! Can't wait to see you, either! :) :goodvibes
Just ran 7 miles this morning. Not too slow, not too fast. It's a good start!

I know we often talk about fueling and what to eat before a race... Last nice before a 4 miler I opted for the healthiest possible meal: a bacon, waffle milkshake.

And I ran the fastest I have ever run--4 miles in under 40 minutes. I suspect it was the waffle carbs paired with the bacon protein.

Kudos on the good time!! That just makes my stomach churn.. Which just proves we are all different & what works for one may not work for another & we are all just one big experiment!! :teeth:

Thanks everyone! As I said before, I'm not so worried about the actual race (had a great time running on my "own" in a sea of people at the Princess), but more the before and after. But I do have fun at the parks on my own so it will be great. My running partners are now considering doing the race through a tour operator so it may turn into a girls weekend after all (which was the aspect I was missing). Thanks for all the info on meets and such. I do love to exercise my liver and legs so the DATW sounds good :-)

Holy cow!! My DD would take a bath in that if she could...her two favorites ice cream and bacon!!!

I have a new question :)

So I've read from past marathon participants that you can do a quick ride of Expedition Everest in the middle of the race. My question is, do they have the ride open earlier than the 9am opening time of Animal Kingdom or does this only work for those who are coming by after 9am? I see it is at about mile 13 so lets say my corral leaves at 6am (I know the first one leaves at 5:30am but I can't remember how much time they have between corrals.), I'm guessing I would be past that spot by the time 9am roles around (my fastest half is 2:19 but my princess time was 2:35 with all the picture stops :lmao: ) So am I out of luck for the chance to ride a roller coaster in the middle of a marathon.

I know this is a silly question. But I have to admit the chance to ride my favorite ride was part of the fun appeal of this race. :cool1:

Oh, yes, there will definitely be a good chance to meet people at DATW on Monday. Wear your medal(s) and come join us for the best way to stretch your legs, and your liver, after the race. :drinking1 party:

I'm pretty sure Monday is our Epcot day, too! And we'll be drinking. And eating fish and chips. And Biergarten. And drinking some more. Can't wait!!

Hello! Lurker coming out of hiding for a moment. I have a question about proof of time-I don't have any long enough races in my area between now and the race. I'm doing my first full in January. I failed to put a proof of time when I registered. My Chip and Dale time was not great, but was fast enough to keep me from being swept. Should I just send that? Will that move me up a corral at least?
Thanks for your help. I'm going to slowly work my way though ALL 180+ pages of information.

The coaster opens at 9am. When the course went by it at mile 17 in years past, it was a lot easier for people to take a ride. As you pointed out, now that it's near mile 13, a lot of us who want to ride will be long gone by then.

PRmami- Did you try the melatonin this week? How did it go?

Yes. I tried 1 mg last Monday night and my husband screwed me up. LOL This man!!!! I wanted to kill him

I took it at 11 with all intentions of getting up at 5 to slowly prepare myself to be on the road by 5:30. I fell into a deep sleep. That much I know. I don't remember dreaming about anything and usually I remember snippets. Well, around 2:30 AM, the phone rings. It's my husband and he fell asleep on the LIRR and woke up at the last stop so I had to drive out and go and go get him. My head was tingly and felt fuzzy. I don't know if it was because I took it and didn't get enough sleep or what.

When I got back it was close to 4 by the time I fell asleep again and when I woke up at 6 I was really groggy. I will say that going for a run with the cooler weather helped clear the fuzziness. Haven't tried it again but I will maybe when I'm by myself and DH is working a double. He's so loud either getting up to go to work or coming home from work. I can't wait to get a house where our bedroom is on a 2nd floor so he can be as loud as he wants downstairs. LOL.

How has your training been going? Are you recording your times? I'd say to take an average of your best times, multiply it by the number of miles you're doing and enter that.

Did you take 1 mg or one pill equaling 3mg. I am really surprised you felt groggy. Maybe you should split it in half. I have DH problems too...he SNORES which is an understatement; so I wear ear plugs every night!

My DD who is really into architechtural design told me that some new homes today are going to two masters. One for the wife and one for the husband with a connecting door. Just like the past aristocrats. Wish I could afford that!:rotfl:

Oh no, PR mami de 2! That sucks!!! That's why I worry about taking anything though. Back to your question way way back, I didn't sleep much race night either. We were back in our room by 8 for the princess and tried to go to sleep and it was hard. What was worse, our flight came in late the night before so we were just super tired. Hope you can find a good solution.

Hey all...can you submit a corral time after registering. I could not submit a time earlier because my last big race was Oct 2009. I decided to do a race in November. Is it too late to submit and if not how do I do that and how long does the distance have to be? Thanks

Well that stinks. Any other rides along the route? It seems like you go by tower of terror, any chance of going on that?

Just 1 mg. the feeling I got was weird. It was a tingling that started at the back of my head and traveled upwards and settled at the crown of my head. It could have been the fact that I went from being dead to the world to high alert because I had to run out of the house and into the car.

I'm sure DH would love a 2nd master because I am the snorer. LOL. Since I've lost weight from running and dieting, he hasn't nudged me to turn the other way or maybe he's just gotten used to it. I know I still do it because my mom complained when I slept over her house the other week.

You can still email rundisney with time but they do cut it off at some point. It was beginning of Dec. for the princess so maybe it is beginning of November for the January race? The information and email to send race times should be in your registration email. If your race is past the deadline you can bring your proof of time to race relations (I think it's called )

Yes you can submit anything from 10K and up. I am not sure what the deadline is this year to e-mail it in (probably sometime in Nov), but you can also take a proof of time to the Expo and they wi change your corral there.
