Official Tinker Bell Half Marathon 2012 thread

Erin, congrats on your registration! :goodvibes

I saw the Tinker Bell medal on Facebook at the RunDisney page. It's so pretty!!!! I'm so excited. I'm running, for the first time, the Disneyland half marathon in 4 weeks.:scared1: but also :woohoo:

Good luck with the DL Half. Can't wait to hear all about it! :yay:

I am officially registered, woohoo!

Woo hoo, Kim! :woohoo:

This race will be here before we know it! :tink:

WOO HOO I registered for the TBHM yesteday. I was on the fence but two of sisters who live CA are run/walking it so I decided to register as well.

I am thinking about creating a training technical tee for my sisters and I to train in. Any fun Tink related suggestions?

I am SO excited. Daughter just signed us both up for the Tink Half. We have done several races at WDW but not in CA. I can't believe we are getting to go to Disneyland. My daughter has been but I have never. I am SOOOOO very excited.

I'm in for this one too... It'll be my first Half ever! (assuming I still don't go to the Vegas Half in December)

:welcome: to our new registrants! :tink:

Our race is now 91% full so will be selling out soon. If anyone is on the fence about registering this is the time to do it!

For you locals and the folks doing the DL half would you please keep an eye out for possible venues for a WISH meet? Typically there would be a WISH meet around 4 pm on Saturday night. They are ususally at a food court where we can meet for a bit, take a group picture, and then go on to our dinner plans. They last about an hour. The food court venue is good because you don't have to use a park ticket for an in-park location. I'm thinking maybe someplace at the DL hotel but it is hard to tell what might work with all the construction.

We will also be meeting before and after the race at the W family reunion tent. It's nice to have some friendly faces to talk to before and after the race.

Can't wait to see you all there! :flower3:

Offhand I can think of the new Trader Sam's and Tangaroa Terrace at the DLH hotel or one of the CS take out places in DTD (La Brea Express, Napolini, Tortilla Jo's Taqueria, Jazz Kitchen Express). I'm not sure how much room Whitewater Snacks at GCH has. I think that's all the quick service places outside the parks.

WOW, now the race is 93% full!! :tinker:

.... I can't decide if I should register! None of my friends will volunteer to run it with me! Lame. It would be my 2nd 1/2 marathon, ran one this past April. Dying to do it again!!! ESPECIALLY at Disney!!! Eeeeek!

Would they at least travel with you? There is SO much going on during the race that I doubt you'd get lonely even if you had to run it solo! They'd be cheering for you! And you might even be able to find someone on the board or elsewhere who is a similar pace that you get on well with! :goodvibes

Yikes! It is 95% full so you will have to decide soon. :tink: We all end up running our own race, no matter what. I am doing this one solo and did the Princess solo -- and I had a great time seeing my WISH friends, too. There is always the DL Half in September as well as all the WDW races, too. Good luck deciding! :flower3:

I completely agree. I trained with my sister, but I did the Princess solo and I hardly noticed I was solo.
My sister is doing Tink with me and I am a little worried about it because she complains a lot and is already swearing I am going to ditch her (she is VERY competitive with me), which is making me want to ditch her already :rotfl:

There are tables inside and out at Whitewater Snacks. I'm thinking DLH may be a good spot, too. We'll have to see when the walls come down. ;)

Our race is at 98% capacity today so I'm betting it will be sold out in the next day or so. :tink:

I am doing this one as well as the Princes 1/2 solo, travelling solo (since the family will be in WDW in December so can't afford to have everyone go again). You'll be among friends:lovestruc A running friend originally wanted to run this one with me, but backed out. I look forward to meeting everyone, specially those staying at GCV.

I'll be at GCV in a studio! :goodvibes I saw that you edited your post from earlier -- I was thinking it was going to be a long way to the starting line for you from AKV Jambo. ;)

Have you stayed at the Grand Californian before? If you like AKV Jambo you will like GC -- they had the same architect.

Our race will be here before we know it! :tink:

Is there a list anywhere of which off property hotels will be providing transportation to the race?

If it's the same as the DL 1/2, check out the Transportation link on their website. They have a map and list of hotels. However, the shuttles don't drop you off at near the race start area, they drop you off at the main entrance area on Harbor and you have to walk through DTD to get to the race. But they could change it for Tink, b/c the start is near PP.

It's official -- the Tinker Bell Half Marathon is sold out! :tink:

I can't believe it sold out already!!! Hopefully the 5k reg will stay slow so I can save up money for that one too.
