** OFFICIAL Survivor: Cook Islands Thread ** ‘Survivor’s’ new racial divide

Survivor fan here- subscribing!

Thought tonight was pretty good- I'm glad the gals stuck together and voted him out...

I really hate when they do this. Why do the women seem to band together and vote out the one guy that is actually getting the camp together and helping them the most. They should take out the weakest first.

I'm glad they are having the Exhile Island again. I just hope the first guy there doesn't find it.

Because they feel his dominence is weakening the team.

My people have other means of removing "bad wind" from our bodies.

Just thought I'd join in on the Survivor talk.

Color me unimpressed by this year's contestants.

I didn't think it was so earth-shattering. I think the Asians are getting a very good edit, and Cao Boi is going to be entertaining (and the first one the rest of the Asians vote out *if* they have not merged before they must choose someone to leave). I thought Billy's comment about paddling toward an island, when his parents paddled away from one, was pretty funny. Also, when the black tribe was deliberating amongst themselves on who should be sent home, I was surprised the two men and Rebecca and Sunrda didn't team up and vote out the other woman - I thought the Sekou vote was too predictible.
Does anyone else think Sundra looks like Jeannie Boulet from E.R. (quite a few seasons back, the P.A. who was HIV+)?
Does anyone know how long it will remain 4 tribes?

I waited all night to see where the HUGE EARTH SHATTERING CONTROVERSY was that all the news media has been complaining about and never saw anything. Yeah there were some stereotype comments (which there usually are anyway), but it basically seemed like the same old/same old.

I agree, Sundra/Rebecca are twins....I couldn't tell them apart at all. Glad Seiko went home, I think he was the right choice this week.

Really don't have many feelings about any of the tribes yet...will wait a few weeks to get to know them. Cowboy was a hoot though, at least this week.

Could somebody post a quick recap? What's with "chicken boy"?

We had to visit the funeral home for a friend, had the vcr all set to tape (yep, we still use a vcr!), and because of some horrible rain, we had a power failure. Came home around 8:30, settled in to watch. My back was killing me, so I had the heating pad going. Ancient thing, and when I went to switch it to low heat, it shorted out and blew the circuit breaker. So we missed the beginning of the immunity challenge, too.

From what I did see, the racial divide didn't seem to be such a big deal. At least not yet.

Hmmm.....maybe THAT will be Survivor's "big" story - even with dividing the tribes by race, everybody's still pretty much the same. Like Robin said,
It goes to show that no matter how they're split up it still becomes a gender and alpha male fight to the finish.

That cracked me up. :rotfl2:

Than the reaction from the two girls were priceless. "he did that to your head?" :lmao:

Because there is a difference between a LEADER and a A--hole. :lmao:

At the beginning I believe it's personal and since we only see a few minutes of their interactions and they have to live with the person 24/7. The fact that he excluded the ladies in the vote of the exiled person was tantamount to the reflection of how little respect he has for them.

People may not remember much about how you look as to how you make them feel.

Most predictable first eviction ever. It was obvious he was going to hold that tribe back, forcing them to tribal council, and that he would be the first to go.

Sundra

Yes, she does look a lot like Gloria Reuben! AND Rebecca, too!

Sundra is one of the most beautiful people I have ever seen. I know it just started but I really hope she's around for a while.

I was thinking that it had to have been pretty impressive when the two guys stepped away form the girls to pick a person for Exile Sandbar. I mean, Jeff called them out on it, RIGHT THERE! He usually waits for Tribal Council to call things out, but I think he wanted to make sure the girls were OK with being left out, and if they weren't, he would of made them include them.

How DUMB. The girls were so right in getting rid of him and Nate should go next.

We were taking bets on what team was going to lose a member first and what team was going to win. We all thought the Asian team would win. We were split equally on the white and black team losing. So far this is pretty predictable.

That guy did nothing about the camp. He was all talk but only took breaks the entire time. They needed to unload that deadweight as soon as possible.

Yup, I figured that one guy (Seiko? Forgive me, the season is young...) was gone, as soon as he went into his whole, "Me make fire, you will need me, pretty lady" speech. I know, he didn't say exactly that, but he was really trying to sound like the alpha male--and then he went off to take a nap. What are the odds that Sundra, Rebecca, and (sorry forgot the other one's name) have a guy just like that at home?

I didn't think the whole race thing was that big a deal. I think most people like or dislike someone based on how they act, or are edited. Personally, I'd like to see a whole lot more of Yul (nice abs!), and less of roller girl (on Rora). What is up with her? She lets the chickens go, and we can see her edited "crack" while she's chasing them on the first episode? Will she have anything to hold those pants up by the end?
