Official Star Wars Weekends 2014 Tips and Tricks

I can't see any shows on my FP+ options for 5/16. Does that mean there are none available?

Starting to get bummed that our SciFi res is at 10:30am. Seems like the odds of changing it to slightly earlier are slim (though worth a try for sure). But if we can't change it, do you think there's any way to catch even the tail end? What time does the parade finish?

hemmie - Kenny the Pirate posted how he watches the parade and then swings around to the Hat... it may work for you:

this may be a dumb question but do I just purchase a regular Hollywood studios ticket and just go on one of the event dates? We will be visiting my in-laws during the last star wars weekend and thought it'd be something really cool to do. I know there are special event tickets you can purchase for inside the park but I wasn't sure how the admission tickets to get into the park works. Thanks!

it's all included with regular admission, even the celebrity autograph, provided you get there early enough to grab a fp

Same here. But was able to book the Force package for the second day, so we will have reserved spots for the parade.

Here's our plan:

Friday June 6
9:15am - Star Tours
10:25am - Sci-Fi Breakfast
12:45pm - Great movie ride
4:20pm - Stars of the Saga

Saturday June 7
11:00am - Feel the Force Package
12:50pm - TSM
1:50pm - Star Tours
7:10pm - Muppet Vision (subject to change)

Plan is to try to catch any of the other shows but primary focus is pictures with characters.

Same here. I'm on a character hunt while we are at Disney. Will be there June 4-7 and will be doing DHS on June 6. Last week I changed our breakfast at H&V From 10:10 to 9:15 (DD is a huge Disney Jr fan, especially Doc McStuffins and the breakfast is the only place you can meet her). I want to be sure to get a fairly decent spot for the Parade which is our other priority. So long as we can get to the park at opening I figure we can get a picture with Chewy before breakfast and maybe a few other characters and that should also give DW time to ride ToT.

We aren't doing any of the Star Wars shows. Not very appealing to us. Though I haven't told my boys (ages 12 & 7) yet that it is Star Wars Weekend. They will flip out when they find out. Big Star Wars fans, especially the 12 YO.

Today I went to Party City and bought a few things for us to trade with the Jawa. A bag of silver Disney princess rings, a bag of 6 Toy Story Sherif badges, a few Marvel Avengers eraser heads and a small bag of Pirate coins. I will also be buying a bag of glow sticks, but mostly they will be used to put on the scooter at night that I'll have to be riding. Bag of 25 on Amazon is $10.

Very much looking forward to our trip. Got a notification yesterday that our Magic Bands have been mailed out. :cheer2::cheer2::dance3:

The only thing I see is that I see on Saturday a long time gap between star tours and MV. With the onset of the possible 4th and 5th FP's I would move MV way up in the day and either use it or let it expire, after your 1:50 star tours try to get another FP for something later that evening that might actually need a FP, like another TSMM or RNR or ToT

I agree with shocker. You can choose ToT for 9:00 a.m. or so and let it expire and then you are free to search for a Show Fp+ or a Tier 1 ride as soon as you ride Star Tours. You won't need a Fp+ for Muppets.

NEVERMIND, I was wrong!

Sorry

H and V buffet during SWW is a star wars meal now, not Doc and friends. Better check into it.[

H&V is only a Star Wars character meal at dinner.

Ali - handicap18 is correct. H&V maintains its regular breakfast and lunch schedule with Doc, Sofia, Jake, and Handy Manny.

At dinner the Star Wars VIP characters and Chip & Dale take over.

I was just confused because we always have a full trip with stays on property and everything is booked together. I wasn't sure how a 1 day visit with no other disney stuff worked. So I just go online and buy a 1 day ticket for all of us and that's it right. thanks lol

I've tried it both ways. Still not seeing any SW shows. :confused3
Are you doing it thru a computer or the phone app? I just went online on my computer and all the shows show available on the 16

thanks for the help! I didn't want to do it wrong

What time does the motorcade start? 11 or 11:30? And how long is it? I have to plan everything out almost to the minute on the day I'm supposed to see it thanks to FP+.

11:30am. With the welcome ceremony it ends around 12, if you skip the welcome ceremony then around 11:45am

Good thing I checked! Would you say getting a spot between 10:30-10:45am is good enough? Not for a perfect view, but a good enough view.
