Official Star Wars Weekends 2014 Tips and Tricks

That's tha plan

I'm not attending so not sure how it will work

I think I'll let it run it's course but will open the new thread and post the link before this one closes, and you're welcome, happy to help

Will you be able to put a link to part II in the first post of this thread?

I had a long post yesterday but the page timed out or something. Grr.

I will revisit that failed post later, but wanted to ask if the items we have started gathering for trading with the Jawas will work.

We have: plastic Green Lantern glasses (like a mask) from McDonalds, a Star Wars pencil, small deck of Toy Story "Go Fish" playing cards, glow sticks, small (think treat bag size) plastic Toy Story slinky, a squishy rubber toy that lights up when dropped, batman 3 pack crayons, hotwheels car, small Toy Story notebook (not spiral), keychain, dog tag necklace, & a tiny bottle of Mickey Mouse bubbles. Is anything listed too big, too much, etc?

Everything is fine. I read on another site that a Jawa traded a sticker for a hug from a young girl... her parents obviously hadn't read this thread! ;)

Are you planning on staying with the Jawas all day ;)::yes::
That's a lot of stuff...they grab only one thing at a time, I've never seen them take more than one thing, then they give you something and move along to the next person...you can come back to them or to another Jawa (I've seen no more than 3 Jawas walking around at a time) but still, it's a lot of items

I think I'm going to take the holographic Star Wars stickers you can buy at Walmart, and maybe some party supply items for my boys to trade. We are doing both meals, two different days at HS, so I'm thinking each boy will trade at least twice.

Thanks for all the great info on this thread. Special thanks to Yulilin3 for keeping everything together. Every year we can count on her to help us really master this event.

Here is a link to my friend's Disney Star Wars pictures. This should bring back some memories, especially of Hyperspace Hoopla, which has been discontinued this year. Looking at these pictures should help to get everyone excited about the upcoming events! May the Force be with you!

I know it's in here but I'm on my phone and I can't find it for a friend but what show will Mark be in when he is there his weekend?

This will be our first experience with SWW. We have Ressies at sci fi breakfast on Sunday June 1st at 9:40. I am assuming we will be in there for about an hour. Will we able to find spots to stand to see the motorcade parade? Does the parade happen to pass near us? What route would you suggest taking from the restaurant in order to find a good spot? Thanks so much for your help!

Us too. I was just so excited to get my reservations (on the phone at 4:00am PST!) that I didn't think about the parade at 11:00. Our reservations are at 9:50am

We are bringing gold mardi gras beads purchased at the dollar store for a pack of 6.

On the Restaurant Board, a CM is stating the breakfast lasts approximately 70 minutes. And, the parade is at 11:30 this year.

If you want to see the entire parade you need to head over to Hollywood Blvd. Exit Sci Fi make a left and you'll be on Hollywood Blvd.
You might be able to find a spot but it'll be most likely in the sunny side.

Thanks for this info! If we have to be on the sunny side that's okay. Hopefully we will be able to find a spot then to see the characters in the parade. Thanks again!

Thanks!!!

We have the breakfast at Sci Fi on a non SWW day, then will be there for SWW. I kind of wondered if it was too much. Just clearing out some trinkets but I will whittle it down. Definitely don't want to schlep more stuff around than we need!!!

It's not in here, because we don't know for sure yet. All we really know right now is that he will be in the parade, and in a show - not necessarily any particular show.

Starting to get bummed that our SciFi res is at 10:30am. Seems like the odds of changing it to slightly earlier are slim (though worth a try for sure). But if we can't change it, do you think there's any way to catch even the tail end? What time does the parade finish?

this may be a dumb question but do I just purchase a regular Hollywood studios ticket and just go on one of the event dates? We will be visiting my in-laws during the last star wars weekend and thought it'd be something really cool to do. I know there are special event tickets you can purchase for inside the park but I wasn't sure how the admission tickets to get into the park works. Thanks!
