Official Star Wars Weekends 2014 Tips and Tricks

I haven't been able to book any of the VIP areas due to limited finances! Does anyone know if there is a handicap viewing area? I am worried that from my seated position I won't be able to see a thing! Tia.

The heat is brutal. My son has Buddy Ball tomorrow. We'll see how it goes. We pre-hydrate and since he can't have high fructose corn syrup, he drinks vitamin water for the electrolytes.

We keep an ice cold wash cloth for his head. Polartech cooling vest and neck wrap. My oldest son use to take baseball lessons from a retired pro and he always stressed cooling the back of the neck first.

Never heard of the wrists being just as important. Will try that too tomorrow.

Good luck tomorrow with Buddy Ball. I hope he's able to stay the whole time and not become to overheated.

There is. Last year there was one beside the parents if the jedi in parade section, up by the hat, in direct sun. It was deep, though the amount of space for front row was maybe 8 feet across if I remember correctly? They allowed 1 petson to accompany the person in a wheelchair or ecv.

The Feel the Force Package revealed the time. Feel the Force people have to check in at 11 am for the 11:30 parade.

I'm a little bummed now that our SciFi reservation is at 10:30am... We will almost certainly miss the parade, and it made MDE not allow me to book the FtF package due to "having a reservation already at that time" (FtF was listed as 11am). Annoying!

But my question is whether the characters at SciFi will be rushing to get through our meal if they have to be ready for the parade. Or would they be different people?

If be willing to bet there will be Disney magic with the characters.

Hope you are right! pixiedust:

Any advice? Should we try to see any of the parade after the meal (I really don't want to rush the meal), or should we just skip the parade (not tell the kids what the big deal is) and go on some rides after breakfast on the assumption that everyone else is watching the parade?

I purchased the FtF package. What do we do if our fastpass times to get autographs are during the parade? I'm sure this has happened to someone!

It's awesome how Disney magic helps characters be in different places at the same time pixiedust: The characters at Sci Fi will not hurry to be at the parade :thumbsup2
I see 3 things you can do:
Be early for your ADR and hope to get in and have time to come out for the parade
After your meal if it's 11:30am go to the Backlot Express restaurant across from Star Tours and watch the 501st and Rebel Legion march down the street before they go backstage
Don't even try to see any of the parade and ride attractions

It won't because the celebrities are in the parade, so there autograph set should be something like from 10am to 11am...you'll have time to check in, probably won't be front of the rope but you have a reserved area.

WooHoo! That is just what I needed to hear :)

So. Debating if I wanna book the Desert party thing. It doest sound bad at $55 per person for snacks for the parade as the fireworks.

Anyone think it's worth it

We switched things around and had to book a F! package to do the Feel the Force - we are just sucking it up that we won't be able to see F! and just keep checking the dining reservations for a cancelation for a regular character dinner. Good luck!:thumbsup2

Glad I'm not the only one. My DH finds it hilarious that I'm stressing about the wasted few dollars on F! tip (we are on DDP) but I just dropped $200+ for our family of 6 for FTF. When you said keep checking, would those reservations be available online or would I have to periodically have to call? Good luck to you too!

R2MK is one of the characters I am missing from getting photo ops with... And with the SciFi breakfast my Boba Fett pic will happen. I know I will be using the heck out of the Kenny The Pirate app to see who I can catch that I didn't get last year.

I am with you on this one. I will not forget the day my DH & I basically spent most of the day in that line swapping out our two boys in an attempt to get all 4 so I quickly booked the H&V dinner but then I realized we missed SWW last year so no photo op w/ R2MK. Hoping Kenny will come through because I'm not sure my two 4YO DD will be very willing to wait all day with their older brothers. Fingers crossed!

In addition to what yulilin3 said, close to parade time they block traffic at the Star Tours intersection and it really bottlenecks. My advice from Sci-Fi, if it's not blocked for cm only, is to take the little path at Chewie's line and come out at the restroom. Then you'll be able to get over to the Backlot Express or maybe find a spot by those restrooms if they aren't letting people cross the street.

Yes, the secret path..... that's a great tip.

If you are thinking about booking, you should book now. And, if the reviews don't sound good to you, you can cancel at least a day in advance. If you wait for the reviews, it may be booked up.

I'm sure this was answered somewhere, but I must have missed it...

1) Is Darth Mall only open during Fri-Sat-Sun, or every day during "SWW Season" (like these character meals are)?

2) Do the Disney Characters dressed as SW characters sign their regular signature for autographs, or do they do something special (Jedi Mickey, etc.)?

Thanks SWW veterans!
