Just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone who posted here about SWW. My son and I got back late last night and had a blast. We focused on characters, parade, shopping at Darth's Maul and riding TSMM and Star Tours and not much else. He is 6 so he's very much a believer...doesn't really grasp the actor concept yet. Also didn't do the shows which made things go quicker. We went Friday and Sunday.
Friday was hot and humid. We didn't stay too late because he had been up late and I wanted to have some pool time and get to bed early so we could go to MK at 3am. We were able to meet Leia Minnie, Darth Goofy and ST Donald, Vader, Maul, Fetts, Stormtrooper, Tusken Raider and R2/C3PO plus ride TSMM 3x and Star Tours 2x. Also watched the parade...got there at 10 to get a mostly shady spot. Had to make an early trip to Darth's Mall for an autograph book since they are sold out everywhere else. So we were there twice for shopping that day.
Wish the autograph books had a few more pages. We ran out of pages before characters...and we skipped the Disney characters signatures for more SWs ones.
Sunday was better...better weather, had grandparents to help manage lines and entertain the child. Even with the huge crowds we did really well. DS got to ride TSMM 5x. Everyone rode 1x and then I gave up my 2 FPs so he could go with each GP 2 more times. He also did Star Tours and watched the parade again. We met Jedi Council...Mace Windu 3x (solo, with Anakin and Kit, then with Shaak Ti), Chewy sans Ewok, Mickey and Minnie, Chipmunk Ewoks, Jawa - he traded beads, Queen Amidala (2x - he loved her...and wanted to go back before we left), Luke, Leia. I feel like I am missing someone but can't recall. My dad and I did ToT twice as well. So we had a pretty successful day I thought...especially as bad as the sun was.
Patrick (CM for Jedi Council) was awesome in helping people get to see who they wanted to see. DS's pic with the 3 council members is probably the best one we have. But DH will probably appreciate the one with just Mace Windu the most since that's his favorite character.
I made a spreadsheet of the times from Kenny the Pirate (using 5 min intervals) to show what characters would be there when and it worked very well in trying to get the rotations right. The roamers were so hard.
The best roamer story I have was while we were in Boba Fetts line the group 2 in front of us was waiting for him to return from a break and decided to take a group shot in the shackels. FP photog was taking the pics. Aurra Sing sidled up to the group from behind without them knowing until the first couple of snaps were taken...it was great and they were so excited.
