I will be there, yes. Not sure how much running I'll do given my cast-enforced layoff, but I'll give it a go.
So no sub-2? Was this the biking incident?

They updated starts to saying Magic Kingdom Parking Lot for 10k & Half:

Start: Magic Kingdom® Parking Lot
Finish: Epcot®
Star Wars 10K

I swear, sometimes I think the rD folks have never actually been to WDW... there is no "Magic Kingdom Parking Lot"! I assume they mean the Ticket & Transportation Center parking lot, but then that's what it should say, so that it matches the verbiage/lingo actually used at WDW.
Any chance you think this means a MK pass? or any thoughts on route?
It has since day one of registration. The 10k does say now that it's through HS. I don't remember seeing that before.
I am the opposite. I have a flight to catch straight after the Half, so I need to be able to jump in the car straight away! What I really want to know, is where I'll have to drive to in order to shuttle or however they are handling it. I could see parking at MK then taking the Monorail back after the race. I just don't want to park at Epcot then have to shuttle because that means earlier morning on race day. DH will NOT be happy.
Nope, I don't see that happening.Any chance you think this means a MK pass? or any thoughts on route?
Agreed. The general consensus is that it will probably be the second half of the marathon course (or at least very similar), without the WWOS portion.
Here's hoping! I have a lot more faith in their ability to get this right at EP than anywhere else, especially after the fiasco last year.Under Plan for Darkside it says this, so unless they just haven't changed that from last year, I would think they are going to want people to park at EPCOT (no other directions given). I mean, they are known for not updating so who really knows.

Directions to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex (Expo and Kids Races)
Take I-4 to exit 65 (Osceola Parkway West). Take a left onto Victory Way and park in the main lot. Proceed on foot to the main entrance.
Directions to Epcot® (5K, 10K and Half Marathon)
Take I-4 to exit 67 (Epcot Center Drive) and follow the signs to Epcot®.
On the training front, my long run is done for this week & was like 40-50 degrees woohoo, windy but that seems to be the thing for us in March!! My middle toe on my left foot started to go numb then really really hurt, so I took my shoe off once and rubbed it, it was fine for like 10 minutes then started up again. Didn't start until well into the run and I was wearing new shoes (only have like 10 miles on them) so I'm wondering if that was the cause (same style of shoe though). My Plantar fasciatis and hip/sciatic were pretty good, not perfect yet but getting there so this toe thing hopefully was a fluke. I mean really, when one runs is there ever a point of no pain, hahaha!
And 5 Weeks till the 5k!!! May the Force be with all of you and your training!
It's under the toe so my nail should be good, but your post made realize it was my plantar fasciatis foot so I wonder if it is related from the arch tightening. Guess I'll see how it feels on my short run today...toes are tiny...they really should not create big pain! This same thing happened with me after the Tink 10K last year, and it flares up from time to time, hurting, then going numb. Like weeks later my toenail turned purple. Podiatrist said it is nerve damage from all the miles I put on that weekend, and needed more support under the arch and right up under the ball of my foot. A couple of months ago I had a cortisone shotfaint: Dr put the needle in a really awkward way that I wouldn't have guessed.) it really helped. I realize this is random info and obviously I'm no doctor! Here's to weird running pains!
haha I agree with that! Mine was under the ball of my foot, then following a line up to my toe was I guess the nerve? But it was bizarre, nail didn't turn colors until a WHILE later. I had heel issues on that foot too, and for a long time thought it was from that, so definitely arch/connective stuff. See how insanely technical I am? haha Good luck!!It's under the toe so my nail should be good, but your post made realize it was my plantar fasciatis foot so I wonder if it is related from the arch tightening. I did my first race of 2017 this morning - a St. Patrick's Day 7K. I was a bit nervous going in since I felt like I was coming down with a cold yesterday, but the run itself went well and I felt really good the whole time. Finished with about the same time I did last year, which I'm happy with. The cold is starting to catch back up to me this afternoon, though and now I am exhausted.
Only 5 weeks to go for us.
In terms of the course, I'm definitely leaning toward the side of "second half of the marathon minus WWOS." And I'd be good with that, since it could then include a little part of DHS and the World Showcase loop. I've heard a couple people mention though the possibility of no Animal Kingdom and WWOS instead, and I really hope it's not that!
It should also be noted that I've started obsessively checking Florida weather even though I know that there is absolutely zero point to doing that up until right before I leave. I'm starting to lose my mind, I think.![]()
It will be hot and humid. It's Florida in late April.
