Official Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend - The Dark Side 2017

It should also be noted that I've started obsessively checking Florida weather even though I know that there is absolutely zero point to doing that up until right before I leave. I'm starting to lose my mind, I think.

It will be hot and humid. It's Florida in late April.

It was 90 degrees here today. I can handle hot. Humid I don't even want to touch!

Hours have been extended for the time around Race Weekend. Mostly an hour or two added to MK every day.

I did my first race of 2017 this morning - a St. Patrick's Day 7K. I was a bit nervous going in since I felt like I was coming down with a cold yesterday, but the run itself went well and I felt really good the whole time. Finished with about the same time I did last year, which I'm happy with. The cold is starting to catch back up to me this afternoon, though and now I am exhausted.

Only 5 weeks to go for us.

In terms of the course, I'm definitely leaning toward the side of "second half of the marathon minus WWOS." And I'd be good with that, since it could then include a little part of DHS and the World Showcase loop. I've heard a couple people mention though the possibility of no Animal Kingdom and WWOS instead, and I really hope it's not that!

Good job on your race! Hope your cold leaves soon. Oh good golly it better not be WWOS instead of AK. That would be lame. I really don't mind it in the marathon, but there is no reason for it to be used here instead of AK. That would mean we wouldn't even see a theme park until like mile 9.5ish if ST is part of it, people would seriously rebel I think.

As for weather, I'll take heat & even humidity over cold any day! At least when it's hot & humid I don't have to wear a bazilion layers and my sweat doesn't just sit trapped on me.

We really do deserve a sneak peak at it! Some runners may get lost staying behind and exploring it! In the dark it is going to look stunning too!

Good point about no park until mile 9.5ish. That would definitely be a major letdown. And I'm sorry, I'm typically pretty good at figuring out acronyms, but I can't for the life of me figure out what the ST in the bolded part means! What does that stand for?

30 days for us until we arrive! Tonight I'm going to attempt the elliptical while my middle has swim lessons. I think my foot is ready! It's the first day of spring so I'm hoping the snow will melt and I can get outside for a run to test the foot out as well. If not I'll test it out Thursday on the treadmill. I still have to work on costumes so I need to get on those! I need to pick up some shirts for them and then I can get to work.
