Dressing for Special Events

Please note these specific costume guidelines for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Star Wars: Galactic Nights and Disney After Hours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios—May 4, 2019 only.

While we encourage creativity, we also value safety and good judgment. If you’re planning to attend these special events, take a moment to read over our latest rules and regulations:

General

  • Disney reserves the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that is considered inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other Guests.
  • All Guests may dress as their favorite character, but may not pose for pictures or sign autographs for other Guests.
  • Costumes must be family-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable or violent.
  • Costumes may not contain any weapons that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
  • Costumes may not contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another Guest.
  • Guests who do not adhere to these guidelines may be refused entry into, and/or removed from, unless his or her costume can be modified to meet the above standards.
For Guests ages 13 and under:

  • Costumes and some masks may be worn, as long as the mask does not cover the entire face and eyes are visible.
For Guests ages 14 and older:

  • Layered costumes or costume props that surround the entire body are strongly discouraged and may be subject to additional security screening.
  • Costumes may not reach or drag on the ground. (e.g.,full-length Princess dresses)
  • Capes may be worn if the length does not go below the waist.
  • Themed T-shirts, blouses, sweatshirts, and hats are acceptable.
  • Acceptable accessories include: transparent wings, plastic light sabers, toy swords, and tutus. Headwear may be worn as long as it does not cover the face.
  • Masks of any kind may not be worn.
Any thoughts on whether or not the fact that the HS DAH event is specifically called out in these guidelines indicate that there may be additional SW themed events happening that night? Or that they are just allowing guests some leeway due to the date?

Possibly due to the fact that it's the 30th anniversary celebration, and May 4th is a big SW thing. I don't think it means anything for SWGE in particular, but it being an anniversary party I expect they'll be a little extra :)

Thanks. I didn’t figure on anything SWGE related, but thought perhaps some additional Star Wars offerings might be included (characters, merchandise, etc) as is often on May 4th in HS anyway. Just found it interesting that one DAH date was called out in the costume policy.

Ewoks, Rey with Chewie and Phasma meet, that's the only extra things I've seen, oh and since specially food

So am I!

I only entered two of the four panel lotteries so maybe that will give me extra karma to get in.

We entered 3 of them... husband might still enter the last one in his own, he’s torn.

We have 5 days tickets and the parks panel is my #1 priority. I was so sad to see it’s at the same time as the droid panel I want to go to.... sigh.

Has anything been announced about "Disney After Hours at Disney's Hollywood Studios" offerings after SWGE is open? I assume that will be a thing?
