I'd rather get my own place for around $700 and save the extra money for purchasing my own furniture. Then again, I do plan on staying in Florida after the PI.

Me too! I have a lot of furniture that I plan on moving down there. Do they happen to have apartments without furniture included?

They look really nice, but a little to expensive for what I am getting paid! :goodvibes

i am in northbridge...i wasnt planning on moving to florida permanently so renting for six months made no sense. i figured if i survived two aparmtnets and roommate switches at vista northbride will be a breeze:) Looking to meet up with roommates though..

Hey everyone!! I haven't been around chatting much due to the holiday, among other things..

Anywho, I just wanted to let you know that I accepted the Cast Deployment internship, arriving Jan 12th. I also have to add to my wardrobe since it is all business casual as well. They said housing may still be available at Northbridge but they will let me know sometime this week.

I have a friend who may have a room available for me otherwise (possibly).. but I'm still looking at backup plans.. so if any of you need roommates, let me know! ;)

Amber,

I'm living in Northbridge with you! Does anyone know how roommates are selected? Is it completely random or would they, for example, put similar professional interns together?

Thanks!

I've read a bunch of times that it is basically whoever you check in with, like the 3 or 4 people in line around you become your roomates. interesting way of doing things.

Congratulations Kim! That's amazing, im so excited for you :) Good Luck with housing!!

Hi! I'm also going to be in NorthBridge. I've been reading the discussion for the past couple of days and must say I was relieved to hear a few people say that the apartments aren't as bad as apartment ratings makes it seem! Also about the roommate issue, I wouldn't be surprised if they did group us together based on who we're in line with. While checking in as a CP, I ended up having the girl two people ahead of me as my roommate. I don't really understand it. It worked out for me last time, but I must say I'm a little nervous. But how bad could it be?

How many of yall PI people are going just for experience? Or are you looking at a future with Disney?

Are the wages comparable to other jobs you may have looked at?

Not many have done the internship on the regular CP thread. Since many of you have done it once, how was it?

Is Disney a place where you would like to work and could make a decent living at after graduation?

Thank you for any responces

It will be an amazing experience, however, I am going to hopefully have a future with Disney. I have never worked there so I dont know for sure, but that is and has been my goal for a long time! :)

Actually, the wage I will be getting is comparable to other jobs I was looking at/applied for. I am right out of college so I have a lot of experience but not compared to those who are applying for the great paying jobs!

I believe that it is. I have heard that they pay less for the same job at other places, but I am sure once you put in the time and dedication, it will pay off!

I know i see a few people who are moving into northbridge im excited! We should all talk more on instant messaging or something and maybe meeet up.. I will be in Florida a week early!
My screenames are
AIM Jnolen7265
Yahoo Babykitty1147512 ( dont ask yahoo hates me and gave me lots of numbers to memorize:) now that i have it down i havent changed it) :)

I am sure Northbridge isnt bad. I mean most of us survived Vista or Chatham and the only residents who would really seek out to post something online are ones that are upset. how often do people go out of their way to pleasantly rave about something? How many Guest Service Fanatic Cards should youh ave gotten but you probably only got a fraction right?

Hope to talk to you all soon

I will be signing a lease/finalizing the deal; for a 2 bedroom/2bathroom Condo on either Wednesday or Thursday of this week. I am looking for another female professional intern to split the rent. If interested please send a private message to me ~ I'll send you the details

Hi! I just officially accepted my offer :goodvibes and I'm also looking for an apartment...Don't know yet what, when , and where but a roomate to split rent with sounds good.

Congrats, Roz on officially accepting the offer!!

Hey guys,

I was just offered a PI in Animal Programs Conservation Education. I am honestly totally on the fence whether to accept this invitation or not. I was a CP beginning in JAN '03, and then transferred into Full Time for another 1 1/2 years. I am graduating this coming December. This is totally something I want to do, but am bummed out with the no health benefits and CP"ish" benefits as far as park passes etc. goes. Does anyone know others who have done PI's in Animal Programs in the past? I'm also fretting this decision b/c right now I am finishing my student teaching over here in London, England!

Thanks for any advice!

Hello everyone! It seems like most of you have internships in Florida with a focus on the animals. Is there anyone looking into summer programs? I have an interview in 2 weeks for a professional internship in the legal office. Is there anyone else that might be headed that way?

Thanks so much for the info! :wizard: princess:

To All Animal Interns:

I was thinking it might be worthwhile if we tried to meet up on checkin day so we can be in line together in order to get Northbridge rooms together. If anyone is interested just let me know. This way we can be semi guaranteed to room with someone with a common interest and similar schedule.
