*** Official September 2024 Thread ***

Would anyone going the first week of September mind giving a quick recap on how their LLMP preselections work out? Just curious on availability as we start the “slower” season.

In all the whirlwind of activity I forgot our online check in for the cruise will be while I’m down here in MD and my passport is at home. Was really worried about not being able to book the Royal Gathering princess meet and greet since it’s the same day but our TA said she’ll book it for us and not to worry. Honestly so relieved to have her, she’s so sweet. I may honestly have her book our airport transportation and LLs too, the distraction of planning is very welcome but my mind isn’t right and I’m worried about forgetting things.

Looking forward to our upcoming trip! Doing a split stay. Checking into All Star Sports our arrival night 8/30. Then moving over to AoA on 8/31. And then checking into Poly CL 9/1-9/8. We'll be doing MNSSHP on the 6th.

:welcome: You're going to love the King Kamehameha club if this is your first time there!

I'll be there the week before you, will be sure to update this thread with my experience! I'm also really curious to see what availability looks like.

Sounds like you have a fabulous travel agent, I'm so happy she was able to help you out with this! Thinking about you!

We have a Poly CL night when we get off the Wish as a treat to beat the post-cruise blues. Our first CL stay too!

9/8 HS
9/9 MK

9/13 ? Maybe HS again or MK, originally this was HS day until we decided to fly in earlier.

Traveling with all my adult kids we haven’t been to WDW as a family since Nov 2012! And not to DLR since 3 days before the big shutdown.

Me - 54

DS - 19
Welcome. We are arriving the 7th. We have a birthday, 30th anniversary, and our oldest daughter and fiance are celebrating their engagement. Should make for some great memories.

I feel like I’m late to the party! We are visiting 9/24-10/2 and staying at ASMovies. It will be my husband, 2 boys and me. I’m excited because we have free dining (QSplan) for the first time. I’m nervous about hurricanes though. We are hoping to avoid extremely rainy weather. Obviously, we know there will be rain each afternoon, but hoping to not have all day downpours the whole time. Where is the best place to track those?

Same here!

I follow the weather guy Denis Phillips (he's on FB and Instagram) and for official updates I use the National Hurricane Center website - nhc.noaa.gov.

Hurricane activity for August has been less than predicted so far, I hope it continues!

As far as the daily storms, they happen like clockwork typically between 3-5pm. Sometimes they just blow in and out quickly but other times they can linger. And it can also vary wildly depending on where you are on property—it can be clear skies at MK but a downpour at HS. Best thing you can do is download the Accuweather app to your phone so you can see the radar and enable location services to get notifications of when rain is coming to give yourself a heads up.

Using the Accuweather app is a great idea! We're usually surprised by the downpour and spend a lot of time spent hunkered down in gift shops (though these are very fun times, to be honest, many of our favorite memories were in the rain!)

We always carry rain gear with us into the parks, but it’s really helpful getting a ping on my watch like “hey, rain is coming in a few” so we don’t end up hopping in queue for an outdoor attraction or show. We are always midday break people, but especially this time of year, and try to time our evening returns or hopping until after the regular afternoon storms have passed. Sometimes they do linger though, and as long as it’s not a torrential downpour we soldier on and make the best of it.

Agreed, there's no avoiding it altogether, so we just deal and have fun anyway (and hopefully with less of a crowd to deal with also!)

Joining the party late! Headed down 9/7 for mostly WDW, some HHN fun the next week. My first trip without a rundisney race in a verrrry long time so I'm thrilled to sleep late (meaning like, 6:30 😅 )

:welcome: Welcome both!!!
