*** Official September 2024 Thread ***

Today is ADR day and so far so good! We're doing a triple split stay so I could only book so much at 6 this morning, but got everything we wanted for the first part of the trip, or so I thought.

I signed back on at 7 to get my resort reservation numbers to call to see if I could book the second half on the phone, and saw that the days of the dining reservations were wrong! I don't know what was going on, but two of the reservations switched days! The confirmation email had the correct day, but the system had the wrong day. So I went in to modify those and one modified to the correct day, the other after booking changed the date to today! :rotfl2: I did finally get it all on the correct days, but I will be watching daily to make sure they don't change again.

And for the first time EVER, I've gotten a CM who was able to override the system and book the entire split stay dining and tours over the phone! Usually they tell me it's not allowed, but this CM was amazing. There were only two things she wasn't able to get. The first was a cabana at the YC for us, she said they haven't released those yet which has happened to me in the past, so hopefully when I call back in a bit we can book that. The second was Victoria and Alberts, apparently they're not allowed to book that, there's a special number to call that doesn't open until later.

So I'll be trying again a bit later, hopefully I get her again since she made it so easy! We did get the Up Close with Rhinos, I was worried about that one, and all the ADRs we wanted, so a productive, albeit slightly stressful, morning.

We have a trip 9/28-10/3. Booked the Disney+ free dining promotion but for the first time we are only doing QS. Only planning on maybe doing one or two TS OOP. Today was my ADR day and we decided HDDR would be our one definite TS. It’s a tradition for us and has food my two picky eaters will actually eat!!! Got it for our first night to kick off the trip with some good food and fun. After that we’re just doing QS and will play it by ear if we want to do a TS. This will all be new to me. I’m used to meticulously planning out every meal and park plans after studying the crowd calendars, knowing exactly when and where were park hopping. Maybe I’ll like winging it at the parks??

Awesome! So glad you were able to get everything resolved. Good luck on the Cabanas and V&A!

Foodie guide is out for MNSSHP in case anyone missed it!

I know we just had the conversation about staying cool in September, I'm more concerned about hydration than anything. I'm on a new medication that leaves me a bit dehydrated as a side effect and I'm 99% positive it lead to a pretty massive back spasm during my May 2024 trip, so I'm concerned about my hydration and water intake for September. I just ordered Liquid IV packets for my trip and I'll probably set frequent reminders on my phone to drink water just to help me stay on top of it while I'm at the Parks. Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

Eat to the Beat singers are the same this Sept as when I was there last Sept- Sugar Ray and Hoobastank. I was hoping for someone new.
Got my MNSSHP ticket for 9/6. I think it will be too hot for a costume so just doing halloween theme t-shirt. Anyone else going to the party?
I was able to get all my dining ressies.
Keys to the Kingdom booked.
All set and everything is done. Now just waiting for the counting down :) This will be my 6th Solo trip.

Pedialyte individual powder packs. You pour them directly in your water bottle. It’s important to replace the electrolytes and these are small and portable. Powerade is mostly sugar not much for electrolytes. We saw so many in the ER this summer with dehydration and dangerously low salt levels from drinking only water in this heat wave. Sorry nurse rant over 😉

I don't drink Powerade/Gatorade so it's just water and whatever type of supplement I can add for me! The Liquid IV packets work the same way as the Pedialyte packets, but I can see that Pedialyte makes an advanced care option with added electrolytes. I'll look into those too.

We will be at Epcot for one of the nights that Sugar Ray is playing and also at the party on 9/6. Group of 4 of us and going as Max, Powerline and two of us will be Powerline’s backup dancers from the end of the movie lol. Planned the costumes out to be lighter so we don’t flat out die during the party.

I got a collapsible water "pouch" (Vapur brand) that I was able to roll up and clip onto my bag when I wasn't actively drinking water. In the parks I would pause and fill at water fountains (slooooowly) or the couple of bottle filler stations, and it was just enough for me to take a few big drinks before I got on my next ride. It helped me make sure I was getting fluids without worrying about carrying a rigid bottle.

I love this idea! I need to grab a couple of these to take with us - so much easier than carrying around the big, heavy bottles.

Look into phone apps to keep track of your water intake. I have a fancy smart water bottle that tracks my water intake and its accompanying app sends me funny reminders and sets goals, as silly as that sounds my water intake has gone up a lot from it (i rely a lot on phone apps for things being neurodivergent). But there are apps you can use to track your water regardless, Waterllama is a cute one for iOS, not sure if it's out for android.

Well I broke down and paid off my trip on Monday--three whole days early. 😂 My sister in law (my travelagent) is getting ready to travel herself, so I wanted to make it easy on her.

Speaking of the September heat, my friend that I'm travelling with says she bought a "neck fan" to use while she is in Alabama, moving her daughter into UA. She said she's probably going to take it with her on our Disney trip...I've never heard of it, so I'm interested to hear how it works for her this week.

Our Costco had a pack of 2 neck fans for $10 off, so my husband snagged them. They charge via USB and advertise a 16 hours of power on low. Our son has been wearing it outside to pull weeds.. lol.

We are staying for 9 nights and I'm thinking of doing a day at universal kids are 14,13,11 we've never been there, do I hold off for a separate trip or is 1 day enough?

Hi, everyone! I haven't been here very much, but am now starting to get into serious planning mode! First thing, our dates are now Sept 1 - Sept 7 as we decided to fly in a day early and have 5 full days at the parks. We just booked our airfare on Southwest and I bought park tickets through Undercover Tourist today. We normally do base tickets, but decided to go for Park Hoppers when I discovered it would only add a total of $150 to our tix. I'm very excited about this so now I don't have to worry so much about deciding which parks to go to on which days (except for planning lightning lanes, but that's another story). We can go to MK on the first day (a must for DH) AND take advantage of Epcot extended evening hours the same day! :cheer2:We are planning to do mostly QS to save $$, but I did make a breakfast reservation for Ale and Compass for our departure day. We've never been there before and I love the Boardwalk area so I thought it would be a nice way to wrap up the trip. Anyway, just checking back in. Things are starting to get real! :hyper:

P.S. Since we decided to fly in a day early, we need somewhere to stay the first night since our Pop reservation doesn't start until the next day. Any suggestions for a relatively inexpensive place near Pop would be appreciated!
