*** Official September 2024 Thread ***

P.S. Since we decided to fly in a day early, we need somewhere to stay the first night since our Pop reservation doesn't start until the next day. Any suggestions for a relatively inexpensive place near Pop would be appreciated!
We have same same problem, but on departure instead of arrival. We have not booked anything yet, hoping for some last minute deals since we don’t go until Sept 14. The things we are considering though:
Free airport shuttle to offset the extra hotel night, despite cheaper airfare, distance from Pop as we will be having a full park day then moving that night via Uber. Versus hoping to find a Priceline deal on a Disney hotel so we don’t have to worry about moving our luggage and they do it for us, still just 1 Uber to the airport though.
For you keep in mind that either the arrival hotel will need to store your luggage while you are at the parks or take a morning Uber to Pop to drop off. I don’t know if you are rope droppers, but this will add time and earlier wake up. There are several hotels near Disney springs that offer park shuttles. I would check Priceline for the best deals.

This is so helpful, thank you! :thanks: I never thought of looking for a hotel with an airport shuttle, or checking Priceline for deals. We will probably Uber to Pop in the morning since I'm planning to do EEH at Epcot that night. Thanks again! I hope you find a great last minute deal. :tink:

[EDITED TO ADD that I just saw in another thread that EEH is only for Deluxe hotels! :faint: This makes me sad.]

Were you wanting to do EEH on your arrival night? I'd suggest a night at Swan or Dolphin since they count as deluxes for the benefit.

If not, I know a lot of people like to stay the night at the Hyatt in the airport but that works better if you come in on a later flight. Not sure I'd do it if my flight was in the morning and I had a whole day to kill.

Thanks for the suggestion! But unfortunately I was hoping to do EEH on our second night. Our flight gets in at 5:00 pm Sunday. I did check out the airport hotels, but they were very pricey, so we ended up booking the Aloft Orlando Lake Buena Vista for about $100. :thumbsup2

Nice! My other suggestion would have been Flamingo Crossings, I have seen a lot of people recommending that development as it is new, not far from property, and the hotels there are very reasonable.

That's funny--I'm going to be there at the same time (9/8-9/13), and our "last time" dates line up almost exactly, too! (December 2012 for us). My kids are similar in age to yours, but they aren't coming with me...I'll be dropping the youngest off at college one week from today, and this vacation is my "I'M FREEEEEEEEEEEE!" trip! 🤣

Hi, everyone! I haven't been here very much, but am now starting to get into serious planning mode! First thing, our dates are now Sept 1 - Sept 7 as we decided to fly in a day early and have 5 full days at the parks.

Just updated the roll call, sounds like you have some great plans!

There really are, I'm gonna have to calculate what it's gonna cost to try everything

We got some devastating news yesterday. My mom passed away. I don’t know what to do now. We were really looking forward to this trip, and I feel so guilty about clinging to it now.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I would like to gently say that I hope you can let your guilt go. Everyone grieves in their own way and, as someone who lost a family member right after Christmas, the road is not "one size fits all".

Thanks y’all. I am still mostly in shock. Flying down to MD to be with my family and making arrangements with my sister tomorrow. It feels like such a bad dream. My partner thinks it’ll be good for us both to continue on with the trip but it’s so hard for me to feel like looking at food and wine menus and all of this like everything is normal

Oh Kylenne I'm so sorry :( Sending all of the love to you and your family. There's no right or wrong way to navigate, only what feels right to you. I went through something similar in 2015 when my grandmother, who lived with my parents and I for 12 years, passed away the week we were supposed to leave for the Parks -- my DMs are always open if you ever want to talk about it at any point down the road! Take care of yourself and let us know if we can help you with anything

I am so sorry. My thoughts are with you and your family. Please take care.

Sorry for the loss, definitely tough times, your mom would 100% want you to go on the trip

Looking forward to our upcoming trip! Doing a split stay. Checking into All Star Sports our arrival night 8/30. Then moving over to AoA on 8/31. And then checking into Poly CL 9/1-9/8. We'll be doing MNSSHP on the 6th.

Finally got the last night of our stay booked. We had added an extra night to the original trip because we saved over $200 flying home Saturday instead of Friday. We were thinking we would just add a night at an All Star resort since we will be in the room less than 12 hours, but there has been no availability at any values for the 1 night. Been looking at non-Disney options and checking daily. Today an All Star Music room came available, so I grabbed it. It will cost more than the off property room we were looking at, but so much more convenient to just have Disney move our bags to the new resort and not have to Uber at the end of the night. Glad to finally have that finalized.
