***Official September 2022 Thread***

Myself, hubby and 13-year-old daughter will be at POFQ Sept 4 - Sept 10. We are hopping over to Universal for HHN on one night. This will be my daughter's 13th trip and last year of middle school so likely our last trip during the school year.
Welcome in to the September 2022 Group @brandelyncon74 !!!! :cheer2: So glad you are joining our Enthusiastic and Knowledgeable Group!!! And Congrats on your trip.::MickeyMo::MinnieMo::MinnieMo I have to say French Quarters is my favorite resort. The small feel of POFQ, friendly staff, good food at the food court (especially Mickey Beignets) and that great pool makes for a very nice resort. We had such a good time there in September 2018. Sounds like a great plan to experience both Disney and Universal on one trip. I know your daughter will have a fantastic time and a great way to celebrate her last year of middle school at both parks. I will add you to our September 2022 CountDown List and we will see you here for more Disney Planning!! :welcome:

Anyone done the chocolate emporium?
I went there before a cruise in 2019 and it was easier to stay in Orlando than in Cocoa. It was really good food. I definitely recommend the chocolate appetizer bread. Sadly we didn't do dessert because we were all totally wiped out from our travel day. I'm hoping for another chance if I do just a Uni trip in the future.

I've been watching the airline prices go up and up and up since December of '21.

Then on June 7 the redeye said "Sold Out". What!? I've never seen that. And three months out. I pretty much have to take the late flight; Memorial Day is a busy day in my profession AND it's a double-pay day.

There is another redeye flight but that has a two hour layover and I don't get to MCO until noon. I so love getting there at 7AM when it's not at all busy.

So I pulled the trigger and got my ticket. I usually wait until July but I just don't see the prices going down and one leg of the trip the plane was about 60% full so I didn't want to risk THAT flight being sold out.

Bottom line? After months of waffling back and forth about even going on this trip. Now I'm for sure going to The World!

We just changed our plane tickets to come in earlier and start the universal leg of our trip with a little less stress. Dates are the same but now we’ll take an extra day off school and arrive in the afternoon instead of middle of the night. My husband and oldest daughter are not going to like that… but I started getting so stressed about all the flight cancellations and delays… if we have the last flight of the night I feel like the odds are good we would have been stuck and maybe even missing our universal day altogether.

So, ignoring that two of us will be very grouchy about missing school… now I theoretically have an evening at City Walk!

Anyone done the chocolate emporium?

I love Chocolate Emporium. The Fork & Knife rib eye sandwich is SOOOO good. My favorite drink is the Chocolate Cherry Mule. I can't pick a favorite dessert, but I have a tip on the milkshakes. If you see part of one milkshake that sounds good, and another part of another milkshake that sounds good, you can have them put those parts together. For example, the red velvet cupcake on top of the coffee ice-cream from another shake.

Chocolate BREAD omg that made me race to google and now I’m sold on that as a must do.

Pro tip! I raced to find out about the bread so fast I almost missed this… Coffee milkshake AND chocolate bread?!!!?!?! Is this place invented exactly for me to be happy?

All this talk of the Chocolate Emporium is making me sad that we are staying more in the Disney bubble this trip, but I already committed to 8 day tickets at Disney, and promised the hubby rest days. :( My Universal annual pass expires in July, so I keep trying to come up with excuses to take a trip in summer, but can't come up with a good enough excuse, and no one can go with me.

I get it. I keep saying I'm going to plan a just Unit trip, but figuring out the when isn't working out.

Hello everyone! I haven't been since Sept 2017 (Hurricane Irma made an appearance too...), but I'm finally planning to go back this year! Dates are Sept 4th-Sept 10th, with the first night being offsite because it was an add-on. The rest of the stay will be at Pop Century. I got Genie+ for the stay, since I have a LOT of new things to try to do, especially in HS. Fingers crossed I can get through most of my must-do list!

I will be at CSR from 9/5-9/10 and at Pop 9/10-9/14 just in time to say goodbye to you😊

I was there for Irma, too. Crazy wasn't it?

I'm arriving at POP on the 10th.

It definitely was. Glad to know I'm not the only one crazy enough to go back at the same time!

I'll be sure to wave hello as they drag me off to the airport. 🤣

Hi @Fuzzeh !!! :welcome: in to the September 2022 Group. Nice 7 day trip you have planned at the Pop. Sounds like you have lots to see and do at Disney since your 2017 trip. Congrats on your returning trip. Hopefully no hurricanes during September this year ☔⛈️🌬️ . Many of us will see what Genie plus has to offer......... Hopefully a positive experience. Remey, Guardians, and Rise of the Resistance will be new for my family as well as you. So excited!! Pop is such a nice resort with the Skyliner to get to HS :darth::chewy: and Epcot. Plus it is a nice ride looking over the parks. So Glad you joined us. I will add you to the CountDown List and our Group will look forward to seeing you here as we countdown the last 3 months!!!!!! :donald::mickeyjum

I returned in '19 just in time for Dorian. It missed The World but it was the hottest I've every experienced on a WDW trip. No clouds in the sky to block the sun even for a few minutes and no rain at all.

I’m team Irma too 😅 we had to move our trip with 72 hours notice and came the following week. We were in awe of all the palm tree broken stumps the whole highway down after Georgia. The parks were pristine by the time we got there though.

Add me to the Irma group. We got out on one of the last flights before the airport shut down. It was our regularly scheduled flight, so just lucked out!

You guys are terrifying me with the hurricane talk. That's really my number one fear for this trip, even more than the heat. I honestly wouldn't mind being down there when it happens because I know how well the parks and hotels are built, or even if I was delayed getting home. I have a cushion in my budget for something like that happening. I just don't want to end up losing time not being able to get down there.
