I’m wondering if the disposable masks might be the best for the heat they seem thinner and lighter

Personally, I hate the disposable masks because I have a hard time breathing in them when I’m talking, but I have to wear them at work because people can’t hear me in the cloth masks.

Try a bunch out and find what works for you.

We did buy a bunch of disposable masks to take because we have heard they are cooler but haven't tried them yet. Hoping to go out and take some walks and wear them to see how we like them.

In my experience, the disposable masks are not really "breathable". I hate them.

I ordered several types of masks/face coverings for our return to work phase 2.

The most popular one is this one:

https://www.dhgate.com/product/face-mask-anti-dust-earloop-with-breathing/527461126.html

took over 6 weeks to get to Louisiana.

I also ordered these which i did not care for:

https://www.dhgate.com/product/in-stock-ce-fda-fast-ups-washable-protective/534997678.html
I made some of the home made pleated one from a you tube video Cute ? Yes. and so hot and stuffy out in the heat.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who orders from DHGate!

I don't see the mask requirement going away any time soon. But then again, it is Florida and you never can predict how things will turn out down there :laughing::laughing:!!!!

Quite honestly, I've kind of fought the whole mask "thing". I wear one occasionally. I broke down and ordered 3. I think masks are going to be with us just in general for awhile. I'm going to Six Flags in Texas. In the middle of July. And they're requiring masks and park reservations like Disney. It'll be an interesting test to see how it goes for me. I just can't imagine wearing a mask in 95 degree heat and 100% humidity being comfortable.

We are trying to find thin masks that you can actually breathe through.

I'm doing a couple of test runs in the next week or so too. I'm driving 4 hours to a theme park this weekend, spending all day in a mask, then driving 4 hours home to prepare myself for my trip to Disney World.

The real drive is going to be 18 hours. I need to prepare myself.

Are you going to wear your mask in the car?

BTW, love the name! As someone who's worked in print and design for 40+ years, it made me laugh. LOL

At my work we're required to wear a mask so originally I was wearing a homemade cloth one (DH's co-worker made them) but after a month I went and ordered the "gaiter" type ones, once DH was going back to work. I got 12 on Amazon in random prints for $25. I kept 6 of the girly looking ones and DH got the other 6 (although he said he wouldn't mind wearing the pink one with butterflies)! The problem I have with the disposable or any over the ear type of mask is- what do you do with it when you're not wearing it? Like if I take it off to eat, or when I'm on the phone with customers, etc.. If I'm in my office by myself I don't have to have it on, so it was constant on and off. I feel like at the parks it will be simple to pull it up and down when eating, and for me I will be less likely to lose it on rides! Everyone at my work who has gone to using them say they are much cooler in the production areas than other types of face coverings. If you get the actual cooling type I think you can get them wet and help you stay cool, so that would be an added benefit in the Florida heat!

Dang. That really stinks...

Yeah, the entire reason I was going was to celebrate Halloween. Hubbs and I will be postponing our trip until next year.

It is what it is. Gives me more time to make all of the cute ears I wanted to, though.

Well just officially canceled our trip. I was hoping to just move it but with things not looking that great for the start of 2021 either i'm just going to cancel and hope for Nov 2021 or Jan 2022.
Same here. Nov. 21. I pray all this is a horrible memory by then. I guess it gives us more time to save for a more elaborate trip next year.

I’m down to double digits in my countdown today, 99 days. My wife keeps telling me to cancel, but we both so need this vacation and if we don’t go to Disney, I don’t think we will go anywhere! Still holding out hope.

In case y'all don't venture in TPAS, here's the information about the Park Reservation system. Tl;dr but guests with existing resort reservations and tickets get first crack this Monday 7am EST: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/experience-updates/park-reservations

As an AP with no resort stay booked, I don't like my chances for Labor Day weekend. I hope we find out before Monday if Swolphin are included in "other select resorts", if so I'm going to try to book a room there.

It was confirmed on the TPAS board that Swolphin IS included!!

Oh thank goodness! I'm gonna make a refundable backup reservation at the Swan. We spent many a family trip at Swolphin when I was growing up and I haven't stayed at either since childhood. I wouldn't mind going back for nostalgia's sake. :)
