Tried to check in on-line today and OF COURSE the disney website is experiencing problems and can not complete it right now...figures... There is ALWAYS something wrong with their system. Come on Disney, get it together, its 2012, upgrade your servers already!!!

No, you are not charged until your check out date. Up until then you can pay cash at the desk on any room charges,to avoid charges to a card.

We are traveling with my parents. They will have a room and we will have a room with our 2 boys. I'm pretty sure our TA requested the Magnolia building (POR) and adjoining rooms, but should I call to make sure? Or does it really matter? Could we just do it when we go to check in?

We leave in 5 days!!!!

Okay, so some of you may remember I had talked earlier about worring what my son's teacher would say about pulling him from school to go to Disney World. Well, just a quick update. I e-mailed her yesterday (we leave in about 2 weeks) letting her know where we were going, when we were going, when we would be back. I also told her that he probably won't be able to do any work while we are gone, but I would take it before we leave or that she could give it to him on the day he gets back (a friday) and we would work on it over the weekend. Here's hoping I don't become "that mom". I'll let you all know how it goes when I get a response. I don't imagine that will be until Tuesday since monday is a holiday. Wish me luck!

I told my daughters new 5th grade teacher at meet the teacher night that I am "one of those moms" and will be pulling her out the 3rd week of school to go to disney His response was "can I come too??" They arent allowed to send work but D already knows she will have to read a bit every day and I am making her keep a travel journal

Pulling my kids out 9 days into the school year for a week at WDW.... I have never really cared what the school thought. My kids have always refused to miss school up until this year. My DD is going into her senior year and DS into 10th grade. They were willing to go so we jumped on the free dinning opportunity wagon.

Bonus: MY DD just got a call from her 1st choice of Universities and was accepted for next year...

I guess I don't have to feel guilty about her missing a week of school anymore. with a 4.2 GPA for her and a 3.8 for the DS i think they have earned a WDW vacation

DD will start school on Thurs., 9/6. She has school Thurs., Fri., and the following week. We leave on Sat. 9/15, but there is no school for us on 9/17 or 9/18. I live in NY. I was originally planning on going in Oct. so there would only be 4 days missed from school. I was speaking to a friend about it and she told me when the Jewish holidays were. I then called the school. This was in March, right before I booked.

I asked them which days there was no school in Sept. I figured even though the school calendar wasn't out at that time, they would know. I was right, they knew. So I got off the phone with them and on the phone with DVC member services

Thats exactly how i feel about it...and DD is a really good kid. She has some learning issues but is one of those kids who tries hard and is never in trouble. So if they had an issue with me pulling her for a week..well thats too bad Family time is important too!

I am pulling my kids out too DS is in grade 11 and the other two are young enough (SK and GR 2) that it really doesn't matter. We are leaving home the evening of the 13th driving straight through to arrive at Disney for 10 days at POR!!! Woohoo

So I finally get my on-line check in done last night, and I too could not put a request in. Error of course...

Question: in the requests there was a Calypso building request but I am booked as preferred, isn't Calypso the only preferred building at All Star Music...???

Should I be calling them and requesting it?
