I need something crafty and easy and CHEAP to keep me going for 6weeks till.our trip! I really don't want to make tshirts; we're going with my ILs and I don't think they'd wear them. A countdown calendar would just stress out my 3yo -- she gets very confused about time passing -- today, tomorrow, tonight all mix her up and counting days with her would be an exercise in frustration for me. And we're staying offsite so no decorations needed. Any other ideas for passing the time besides stalking the DIS?

I see your little pirates are all girls, how about matching hair bows or other hair accessory? We do do plastic teacups, starfish and shells, little tiaras, mini hats, whatever will attach to a plastic headband. (I use small zip ties in addition to hotglue to keep them on.)

Also love the autograph book idea!

We are at 42 days! This will be our longest visit and we've got lots of down time planned. Also, first time with water parks and more. We're thinking that we could head to the water parks in the am some days then go for a theme park after a mid-day break. Do you think that would work out ok?

I think it would, at least that's how I would do it.

I will be attending the MSNSSHP on 9/11. This is my first time attending. Does anyone have any tips? I really want to meet the female villains.. Any chance of making that happen.. I haven't had time to do much research into it..

Do the Villain mix and mingle. It only lasts about 15 minutes following the Villain stage show. Get there early and sit at the rope. Check with the CM's as to where the Villains stand in front of the stage so you can be in the right area to line up at the end of the show. Maleficent usually has the longest line.

Thank you so much! I have seen pictures in the past where there were a few of them together for the people to take pictures with.. Do you think they will have a longer meet and greet? Or the only oppurtunity will be after the show.. I am 31 years old and I think I just might have a freakout when I meet them!! LOL My poor boyfriend.. hahahah

DH and I will be visting in September as well. We arrived Aug 31 staying at Animal Kingdom. Then on Sept 3 we move to BLT and will be staying till Sept 7. We are celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary. It is a trip without the kids so I'm a little excited (shhhhhh).

No, I don't think so. I have heard rumors that the Hag is out lurking in dark corners sometimes, but I have never spotted her. Madame Trumaine and daughters are out in the park for pics and autographs generally. It's okay to freak out, the villains ARE the reason we do MNSSHP!

29 days till we arrive and we just got our Mickey mail today. I am sure you will get it soon.

My sister in law her husband will be watching our fur kids, AKA dogs, and we are trying to think of a good gift for them. They were just married a couple months ago so we would like to get something more personalized. My husband mentioned the glass engraving area once you get off "Journey Into the Imagination". Does anyone know if they will engrave the glass cube from a picture you bring in? We have a couple of really good pictures of them from their wedding and thought if we could get one of those pictures engraved in the glass that would be perfect! Any ideas?

I saw those at Mouse Gear in Epcot too. We bought my step father a beer mug from Germany (he is german) with his name etched into the glass. There are lots of cool places in Epcot to get beautiful things.

Just got a call from Amtrak that they've cancelled the Autotrain for our travel date and the two days after. They said there's bridgework being done that weekend and the train will not be running. We tentatively rescheduled for the date prior, but I'm sure the train will be packed (we had to give up lower level coach seats as there were none available for the new date, only regular coach) and it will mean an extra hotel night, as our rental house won't be available till the following day.

So now we're thinking about driving. Definitely not my first choice -- my 3yo does not ride well -- but I can't see paying the cost of the train if it's not adding any convenience.

UPDATE : I booked flights tonight! After talking it over with DH and my IL's, we decided that the cost increase of flying over the train or driving would be offset by the time and convenience factor. It means my budget for this trip is going to be insanely tight...we're cancelling some OOP adr's and pinching pennies for the next 6 weeks...but I'm so relieved to NOT be driving.
