Official September 2012 planning thread! List on page 30!

Looking at the park hours, it looks like MNSSHP dates will be on Tuesday and Friday in September? I thought they were usually on Thursday too, are they maybe doing fewer party dates this year?

According to my CM friend, it's always Tuesday and Friday.

add me to the list, we are looking to go the 11th-20th! just waiting for disney to announce a discount or to get a PIN so i can book it already. I'm really hoping for a stay play dine pin to come my way because that would be ideal for my family. if not stay and play or a good room discount. We will most likley stay at the AS music again, unless a good discount comes out. our budget for the room/park tickets combined is 2k (withing dining, wont pay for it so unless it's free we wont get it, we can eat for way less). I was wondering is i could rent DVC points for 9 nights for that much? anyone know?? ive never rented points before so idk where to get that info.
Welcome! Have you played around on Disney's website recently by pricing packages while logged into your account? We have friends who recently did that and got a Stay Play and Dine pin in the mail shortly thereafter. Chances are good that a room discount will come out for September and I know many are crossing fingers that free dining is offered again as well.

As for renting points, 9 nights will probably put you out of your price range, but the Timeshare Store is a good place to get that kind of info (they usually announce available rentals in their newsletter, which you can subscribe to or just view it on their Twitter account: www.dvc-resales.com). I've never used them personally nor rented points, but alot of people do (I just like stalking them because we want to own DVC!). It can cost about $12 per point (sometimes they are discounted even lower) and a one night stay in the cheapest studio can run about 10 points per night (dependent on season and location). I think there is also a rental thread on the DVC Disboards. Personally, I like "owning" my vacation by purchasing a package directly from Disney, rather than relying on rental contracts and agreements with strangers or brokers, but I know alot of people go that route.

I seriously doubt it would be cheaper. Right now I'm booked at Movies, and my friend who is a CM and DVC owner also has a room booked at OKW for me, just in case. We're staying 8 nights and my budget is 2K for a family of 4 for that time. I am finding that is absolutely pinching pennies (though I also have to throw in airfare) and that's WITH the 40% off room discount I currently have a Movies, and with paying for only one child ticket to the parks (as my friend will be signing us in). I also factored in 4 discounted tickets to MNSSHP. So I seriously doubt that renting points would be cost-effective for you if you have to buy tickets as well, or perhaps you won't be doing the park every day if you plan on having the awesome slides/playgrounds. In that case, renting points wouldn't be that bad of a deal. I would expect to pay around $11/12 a point if you go through our DVC board, and of course Dave's is $13/point. If you are more flexible on the dates, you could pay less, around $8 or $9 a point if you wait until the last minute, but then you are subject to availability and may not get the located you wanted.

My Mom just got me the 40th Anniversary WDW bucket bag for my birthday.:banana::banana: I jumped up and down and screamed, LOL. We both drooled over them when we were there together last May.

Woohooooo :) that is exciting!!!! I have the 40th Anniversary WDW Messenger bag and I love it :)

So how many days do you have left? I have 209 (March 21st for ADRs). :cool1:

Count me in! We're officially booked.

September 25th-Oct 1st @ POR

I'm doing the Tower of Terror 10 Miler!!!

So excited to join the September 2012 group!
My family (me, DH, DS14, and twinDS11) will be at the Beach Club Villas Sept 22 - 29.

We are DVC owners at BLT so our 7-month booking window for BCV opens on Wednesday.:yay: We hope to book a 2 BR Villa as we have another family that is joining us.

A couple of days ago I purchased our Park Tickets by way of the YES Program - what a spectacular DEAL!

WooHoo! Let the party begin!:cheer2:

I have you all added to our list on page 30! Happy planning! :thumbsup2

Wanted to wait until we officially booked before coming back and posting. We had to change our dates from the 9-15 to 23-29. We are booked as of today at Kidani Village dedicated 2bd:cool1: Now that Sept hours are out, I can do my planning calendar, begin to plan ADRs and meals, and drive my dear family crazy with Disneytalk:cheer2:

Welcome to the group, Sleeper! :goodvibes

Thanks! I can't believe I forgot to update my ticker:eek: We were supposed to be going the same dates as you, but DS had problems with his work schedule. We'll be there for the beginning of F&WF...never have been. Even though it's going to be packed the first night, we're going to brave it:thumbsup2

We haven't been to F&W since 2009, but most of the booths did a soft opening Thursday night.

Thanks! I've gotten several confirmations that that is the case. We will have PH for the first time:banana: so we'll be able to check out Thurs night and go back Friday if we want! We'll have 7 in our group--3 under 21, much to the dismay of DS20--so we plan on splitting up and meeting back with our samples to share. I realize we may have to do this several times, but it'll be a new experience for us!

Just wondering if anyone has started a PTR. I just started mine yesterday and I'd love to read other September PTR's! Come on over and give mine a read if you're so inclined.

My family and I will be there September 16-25 doing a split stay.

16-22 at Bay Lake Tower
22-25 at Boardwalk Villas

We are very excited!

:cool1:

Just stopping in to say hi! Havent been on in forever, between work and DS its hard to get on. So much is going on it seems lately! Hopefully after our March trip things will slow down and I can get back to the DIS :rotfl2:

:yay:Our ADR windows for September trips are quickly approaching! :yay:

Where is everyone planning on eating during their stays? Our must do's are 'Ohana for dinner and Tusker House for breakfast. My husband's must do is an early Le Cellier dinner, before it gets too crowded in there, usually really close to 5pm.

I may try a place or two I've never ventured before, this trip. I'd like to try Jiko, but I have to be careful if my husband is actually going with us again this trip because he is the world's pickiest eater.

We will be on the DxDP so we are planning on doing a ton of TS restaurants :cool1:. I know it is a lot of food and we will be sitting down a lot, however since we go so often (twice a year) we don't mind sitting down for a nice B,L, or D :goodvibes. With that said, this is where we are planning on eating...Our ADR day is on 3/4 just hoping we can get the times that we want :goodvibes
We are actually doing a split stay (3 nights at Poly then moving over to BLT for 9 nights) so the first 3 nights we will not be on a DDP, but when we are moving over to BLT that is when we will start the DxDP. Our trip is from 8/28-9/9.

8/29 DHS day (this is actually our first full day)--Lunch at Sci-Fi, Dinner at 50's PT and paying OOP for both.

8/31 AK day/transfer to BLT from Poly...this is where we will start our DxDP :goodvibes--Lunch at Tusker House, Dinner at California Grill (hopefully get a good time so we can watch Wishes at our table)

9/1 Typhoon Lagoon--Breakfast at Cape May Cafe, Dinner at Narcoossee's

9/2 Epcot --Breakfast at Akershus (before the park opens), Lunch at Le Cellier, Dinner at Coral Reef

9/3 Open Day--Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, Lunch girls and I will be doing Afternoon Tea at GF (paying OOP for this), Dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe

9/4 DHS--Lunch at Mama Melrose, Dinner at HBD (hoping to get Fantasmic dining package for either one of these...would like it more for MM, but if not will hopefully get it for HBD)

9/5 DisneyQuest/Open--Breakfast at Boma's, Dinner at Fulton's Crabhouse

9/6 Epcot--Breakfast at Akershus (again...love this breakfast), Lunch at Chefs De France, Dinner at Teppan Edo

9/7 Blizzard Beach--O'Hana's Breakfast, Dinner at Artist Point

9/8 MK--Breakfast at CRT, Lunch at Tony's Town Square

9/9 Departure Day--Breakfast at Chef Mickey's

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:
