New here, but huge Disney Fan..
Looking to plan Trip Sept 15-23...at POFQ.

From northeast pa, anyone have any advice on Airfare ...? Book now...wait?
Prices are already high enough for me , if they go up ..;0(

Also what is everyone's general feeling on the Free Dining Promotion.. will it be offered, gut feeling from all you veterans?

Can't wait to join in on all the planning... appreciate everyone's feedback.

Looks like our trip dates will overlap, Northeast!

I am hoping FD will be offered again - we were lucky enough to get in on the last day last year. We're booking much earlier this time around before the dates are announced and will (hopefully) be able to rebook under the FD promotion later.

As far as airfare goes ... I can only find one flight out of Cincinnati for our dates and it doesn't work well for what we have planned, so I am waiting for more flights to be announced to see if a better option becomes available.

I definitely think it will be offered. Since 2006 Ive used the FD during the August-September FD promo.

This year they have already offered FD for those dates to Canadian residents as well as in a Bounce Back offer which is what we booked under. That free dining offer included dates from mid August to September 27th. We were able to get the free dining for September 27-October 7th. I would assume once its offered to the general public it will be for those same dates. I wish I could remember the August start date! Sorry!

Since we are lossing Airtran out of ABE I am starting to look at Newark and Philly at this point for direct flights.

Although always a strong vacation planner, I have never been so stressed since finding the dis and planning for this disney trip. I currently have a reservation with 30% off at POR room only and like most everyone am looking to change that to FD if it comes out. Should I add a dining package and tickets now so my room at POR is guaranteed? We want to stay at POR (5 of us) if they give the regular dining plan, but will probably change to POP if they only offer the QS for mods. Any advice would be appreciated!!

Have you looked into flights from Atlantic City We were looking to go 9/15-9/23 and found that if we left on a tuesday or wednesday we could get a roundtrip flight for $121. worth checking if your dates are flexible and if AC is close enough to you

Agreed! It is HOT! The past two Septembers were over 90+ during our stay. By 1pm we could be found either inside a store for AC, eating inside for AC or at the pool (notice a trend! ). It really could be brutal at times. However some evenings were a bit cool and we wore pants/or a light sweatshirt.

Ironically, this past trip, the day of our department the temperture dropped a good 15 degrees and the weather was beautiful! It was amazing the difference overnight.

Both trips were during the last week of September

I am wondering if we were there at the same time last year. We came home on Oct. 1st and it was gorgeous and much cooler - we were thinking we should have arrived that day instead of leaving!

Thanks for the suggestion I have looked at AC.. I think Spirit was the carrier?
i think they charge for each carry on bag as well as checked luggage. I also read several negative reviews on that airline. So I decided against them. (plus I can only leave on Weekends..;0(

I just booked Air Tran out of Philly for about 225 a person..
great flight times (in ORL by 10am..which mean in parks by 10:30

I also used Orbitz so if someone else books at a lower cost I get the refund check...... hoping..


Now I guess I need to setup one of them fancy countdown clocks to my profile?

I believe you would have to cancel and rebook..anyway, just have them add it if FD comes out (this year is QS at Mods..that's the rumor) Also, you will loose your 30% discount for rack rate. It's a good deal for 5 still.

You can only have 5 in a room at Pop if somebody is under 3. To go from a room only reservation to a package reservation, you have to rebook.

We have decided on a Disney trip the end of September. We haven't booked yet..trying to decide if we are renting a villa or waiting for Disney specials... does anyone know when free dining is released for Sept? Do you guys usually book the room and then switch it to a package?

So due to teacher responsibilities of Back to School night during the days we planned vacation, we had to cancel our September trip. BTSN has never been that week, but a new principal brings new things. I guess things happen for a reason. We are now going longer in July and my mom can actually go now which will be fun for the kids.

I will update the first page soon, but then I think I might have to ask someone to take over the thread. I thought that I could stay excited for everyone, but it's hard running the thread when I am not actually going in September. My enthusiasm is just not the same without a trip. If you would be willing to help, please lmk.

I'm so sorry that you had to change your plans! That must be so disappointing!

It will be nice to have a longer trip in July, and especially with your mom!

I'm sorry to hear about your September trip, but I'm glad you were able to work something out with your summer trip!

And please don't worry about the thread. I see BasketKat has offered to help and I'm here to help as well. I'm sure through posts or PMs we can get it figured out!
