Am I correct from what I've been reading that July ADR for the ROL dining packages are not yet available? I had assumed they were sold out!

Just saw that they finally changed the hours of the AK park for August dates. Was closing at 7:00 now closing at 9:30. Hope this means they will be releasing the ROL dining package soon!!!:surfweb:

Hope so! Last year, even without ROL they extended hours to 11pm a month before. Hoping for that too.

Just got an FP for the Rivers of Light when we go in May. How early should we start lining up? An hour before? Or can we still get good seats if we go half an hour before it starts?

i haven't gone yet, but we have Fast Passes for May, also. From what i've read on this thread, it sounds like 45 minutes to an hour early is suggested. But i will be interested in hearing from those with personal experience.

If after May 27, Pandora will disrupt things. But in general 45 minutes early should be fine. We saw it on March 7. Nice addition to AK but Pandora is the big gorilla coming soon. :)

You won't line up an hour before, you'll go in and get your seats. They open the area about 1.5 hours prior to showtime.

If you want an up close seat then I'd show up 60 min or more..if you're fine not being in the first few rows then 30 min before you should be fine

We saw ROL Sunday night (March 20), 10:00 show. Neither FP+ section or stand by section was full - maybe 3/4 capacity.

I know it is just my opinion, but I am surprised this show was ever green-lighted. Walt was always about the power of a good story and this show had little to none. Just a 'we are all one' motif.

My wife liked it better than me. Others will love it....

I commented on this earlier in this thread, but I think RoL is most similar to Illuminations than anything else as far as what it is about. No fireworks of course. But the idea of celebrating the world.

There was much debate about Disneyland Resort's World of Color Show when it debuted in 2011. Weak on story. Many of us Disney fans appreciate the storytelling strength of the Disney brand, movies and parks. However, not everything at Disney resorts are about story. Some educate. Some celebrate. Some entertain. Like Illuminations, the old Lights, Motor, Action Stunt show at DHS, the live character shows at the Disneyland's Golden Horseshoe, Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue at Ft. Wilderness, Mickey's Fun Wheel at DCA, the nature trails at AK and Aquarium at Epcot all come to mind. As well as World of Color at DCA.

With that said, I enjoyed RoL and thought it was a good fit for AK. It was not awesome but I personally would watch RoL over Fantasmic at DHS any day. I suspect they did not want anything loud (like fireworks) because of all the wildlife at and around AK. And RoL does that.

My two cents. :)

We're going to be in AK on May 5th. I noticed that for most of April, there are 2 ROLs every night. Is that just because of heavier Spring Break crowds? Or do you think there is a possibility that they will extend the 2-shows per night schedule into May? Just curious ...

I'm really getting tired of checking for dining packages for ROL to open for August.

You shouldn't have to check every day. I'd just check every so often, like once or twice a week. Unless it's changed, the RoL dining package isn't too hard to get. We got one about a week out from our trip but then wound up cancelling it since we got a FP

Ok that is good to know.

It seriously gave me the same feels, the one I don't get during Illuminations but after when I'm leaving the park and the are playing Tapestry of Nations.
Hi! Can you please tell me where the fastpass entrance is to ROL? Also, are there any rumors of soft openings? TIA
