Thank you safetymom! You by far have the best photos I have seen of the Poly construction. We stayed there a couple years ago for our first visit with our small children. No trip will ever compare to that one- it was the best. It really makes me sad they are changing that pool we enjoyed so much as a family I'm sure it will be beautiful in the end!

Yes, I think you are right. Our second choice is Grand Floridian. That is the one MK resort we haven't stayed at yet. And the Disney agent I spoke with said I could always change reservation to the Poly a few months before. Anyone have experience with GF? Good rooms or not so good rooms there? Pool any good?

We love the Poly, but this year decided not to stay there due to no pool. We did a split stay between BC and GF and I really fell in love with the GF. It was amazing. The grounds are beautiful, the pools are great and I liked the rooms better than the Poly. The rooms felt so luxurious, have beautiful wood flooring in the entry and bathroom area. We are now deciding which one to go back to next summer. Imo, you won't be disappointed with GF.

Thank you for letting me know that! I'm excited and now I will have stayed at all 4 MK resorts. We're very lucky aren't we? As a child I remember staying at Contemporary once and only once. It was such a treat that my parents saved up for.

We are planning a WDW trip for April 2015. The Poly is our very favorite and would really like to stay there. I called Disney and the operator I spoke to seemed to think it would be ok by then. We do not want to stay there if pool is still under construction. Opinions anyone??

The pool is scheduled to reopen in March, but there is always the chance it will get behind and not open on time. If you are wanting to book now, you could book the Poly and keep an eye on the pool refurb and change later if it seems to be behind schedule .

The Poly is our favorite resort, but the GF runs a very close second. The grounds are beautiful, the pools are nice, and the dining options are great. I think the GF is a great alternative to the Poly .

I agree about the Poly being awesome. We've only stayed there once, but that was enough for us to fall in love with everything about it as the tropical atmosphere is so beautiful and relaxing. We have stayed at a few other deluxe resorts and while we have enjoyed all of our stays, it's hard to beat the atmosphere of the Poly .

Yes, lucky! I never even went to Disney as a kid. We have done the Contemporary once and I loved those rooms too, but I think the GF rooms are the nicest ones. We watched Wishes from the boat dock at night. We requested Boca Chica and had a great view of the pool. Narcoosses is now a must do for us as well, had a great dinner there.

We are staying at the Poly right now. The construction on the pool is amazingly quiet during day even though I could see the backhoe moving. Most all of the construction is well hidden. Course we don't care about the construction anyway. We will stay here again and have no issues. The poly by far has the friendliest staff.

That is why I am booked for 11/18-21. Great resort, great CM's !!!!

We stayed in Samoa when we were there 2 years ago- it was a great spot! Close to everything and surprisingly super quiet!

Awesome to hear, my DD14 and I will be there. We have never stayed at the Poly. Worked out for us, price was right and we won't mind the construction (we hope). Thanks for input.

I just want fantasmic for 11/18 because it's closed 19-21st and SDMT. Keeping my fingers crossed.

We got most everything we wanted we noticed there was not Fantasmic or FoF for early on the week, hope you get yours. We did get 7DMT for 11/20 but couldn't get for our first day 11/15. We always go to MK our first evening and eat at Casey's. It has become our tradition. Have you been there in November before? We we're there in 2012 and it was so nice, crowds were low, my DD rode EE and RoR 7-8 times in a row, just kept walking on. I hope it is like that this year, however free dining may make it more busy, not sure.

About Fantasmic, I read on Kenny's blog and another one, not worth FP, you go in the same time as SB line, if you get there 30-40 minutes before they let in, the sites say you will be fine. Hope it works out

Thanks for the info. My dilema is that this is my moms first cl stay and we have appetizers in the lounge at 5pm. If we hurry we could be to bus stop 5:25-5;35. I am just not sure that will get us there in time for the 6:30 show.

So many things to do, so little time!

She is gonna go nuts over the Osborne Lights At least we will have that!!

The last few posts seem to be taking this thread off topic. Would like to hear more about the Poly construction progress. DW and I are thinking of finishing a split stay at the Poly in early December 2015. From what I read so far, most, if not all of the construction will be done by then. Anyone hear otherwise?

From what tikiman says that should be ok. If you can, watch his sites for some good accurate info.
