Official Poly construction update thread **updated video page 103(2/17/15)**

i got the same email today and was so excited! i want to book the poly for my birthday next august! i looked on tikiman's site and could not really see an answer nailed down- is the consensus that the pool and GCH will be open by then? i am worried that their rates were so good for the poly because it will still be under heavy construction?

Keeping my fingers crossed for a great stay in October at the Polynesian even in spite of the construction! :)

We were just there the last week in August & had an amazing time! We stayed in the furthest Longhouse from the DVC construction (Aotearoa) and it was lush, peaceful and quiet. We didn't spend much time in the lobby other then at Captain Cooks & Ohana, both were fine. The main pool had just closed, but the East pool was almost always empty & a nice spot to cool off with a drink in a hot August day :)
The Moana Mercantile and The Pineapple Lanai opened while we were there. so progress is being made daily now. The new Resort sign was unveiled this week & is beautiful!

There are plenty of photos posted almost daily on Tikiman's Facebook page &website with "as it is now" updates, that may ease your mind.

We can't say enough about the awesome staff at the Poly, they are going above & beyond to ensure a wonderful experience for their guests!

Wishing you an awesome stay at the Poly! :)

We are in the same dilemma. Want to book Poly for next August. The offer is too good to pass up! Plus we will be traveling with a 6 month old and love the convenience of the monorail. From what I saw on tikimans site. The main pool and GCH should be complete by April. At that point the east pool will close for rehab thru the summer.

Would somebody be able to pm me about this "agency" and special offer for the Poly for next year?

Can anyone tell me the best way to get to Fort Wilderness from the Poly. We are having a dinner there in November. We will be staying at the Poly. DD and I. We are so excited to stay at Poly despite the construction.

I'm no expert, but I think the best way would be to go to MK (either on monorail or the boat between Poly and MK), and then take the bus from MK to FW.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. I believe we could take the boat to Wilderness then over to Fort from there as well

If you bus from MK to Ft Wilderness, you must transfer to the internal FW bus in order to get to either HDDR or Trail's End. A better plan would be to monorail or boat to MK, then boat to FW. The FW boat dock is very close to both eateries.
(I'm assuming that the request was indeed for FW and not the Wilderness Lodge).

Google "labor day agency exclusive" and you will find it. Has anyone inquired on prices yet? Is it still $189 per night for 2015?

Just booked not sure it this will help b/c we got tickets included but for 3 adults to go for 9 days with 7 day park hopper with a standard view room at the poly it came to about $2900.

Thank you so much, yes we are eating at Trails End and I am afraid I would have went about it all wrong, again thanks! Do you think Samoa long house is a good option during the construction?

Yes!! We booked the same thing...1st time doing club level, price was just too good to pass up!!!!

There's only one problem with club level - you'll never want to go without it again! :rotfl2: Seriously, my kids don't even want to consider a trip non-club level - it definitely spoils you!

Have fun planning - see you in August :thumbsup2
