***Official Planning Thread -DECEMBER 2024 - Welcome all!***

I'm curious if all, if any, of you have decided which holiday party they are doing and why? I cannot decide at all between Jollywood Nights and MVMCP. I've gone back and forth many times since tickets went on sale. I don't want to spend that much on both if I can help it. I didn't do JN last year since we were there Christmas week and all the parties were over. I've done MVMCP at least 3x. I only do the parties for the festivities not the attractions except for maybe Peoplemover at MK. There are pros and cons to either one for me. I was considering JN for 12/11 but that is DH's b'day and he won't do it so it would be a solo visit and since it's a bit of a milestone (70) I would like to do something with him that night. The only other option is Saturday and don't know how crowds will be. I do like the idea of it being mostly an adults-oriented event though and of course, the DVC discount.

OTOH, the benefit to MVMCP is that we are staying at GF on 12/12 so that would be the best night and since it will be solo I can get over there on my own fairly quickly. Other than that, I'm really only interested in Main Street and the parade so I'm not sure it's worth the higher price.
We are also doing both. I didn’t get too hung up on which night to do which party, assuming they will all eventually sell out anyway. Like Japanese Maple, we are most interested in the low wait times for the rides and the atmosphere - not so much the shows, etc.

Well, I haven't been to a party probably in about 6-7 years and there have been instances where parties haven't been sold out and crowds were lower than some others I've done. Also, I would love to have the inside track to the capacity Disney is placing on these parties this year. I know that's not possible but it would be a great little nugget of information.

I think with these parties it's best to go with the mindset that it will be crowded and if it isn't, you're pleasantly surprised! :D
We just know we couldn't possibly get everything done, so we concentrate on what we want to do the most.

Hey all!

I added Molly from Mammoth's Club tutorial on LLMPs for resort guests in the first post in case you need to reference it quick! She also has for off-site on her channel. :)

Ear Scouts is also good, esp his video on multiple experiments he does going to AK and trying to book LLMP in another park.

So I have to be honest. I don't really like Christmas music. I find most of it depressing! 😂
I'm a little worried about hearing it all the time while I'm there. Especially at MK. Not worried, but wondering if it will feel weird to hear or it will just fade into the background after a bit.

We've been going in December for years now and Christmas music will be playing just about everywhere. Parks, resorts, DS. Even at Epcot you won't hear the usual soundtrack loop during the holiday season. At DHS you will hear more of a 40s vintage Christmas music. Not depressing though as it's fairly light and upbeat as Disney leans toward the holiday as a more secular celebration.

Oh I know. It's one of the only reasons I don't want to go at Christmas.
I'm sure it will just be background noise eventually. I like the decorations, the festiveness, just not sad Christmas songs. 😂

Although I am looking forward to the music at AKL. I listened to the Christmas loop and it's amazing.

I'm not particularly religious but more of a spiritual person but I've never found Christmas songs sad so I can't relate on that point but to each his own. :confused3 May I ask why you are going during the holidays then?

This was not supposed to be a serious topic point. Or a comment on religion (the sad songs aren't religious). I just meant it as a lighthearted, funny comment. Something weird/funny about me on a fun trip planning thread.

Let's drop it.

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend. I do find the Christmas music to become some major earworms at times. I hope you enjoy your trip.

Two adults, two kids around preteen, doing MVMCP for the first time ever. Chose it because of the 4pm start, feels like better value.

YAY Finally booked!!
I'm applying for another part time job so I can afford to go and split costs with a friend that is coming but I'm going! YAY!
It's a final goodbye for me since I'm moving to Japan next year and won't be back in North America for at least 2 years, and I have no idea when I can get back to WDW after that.

Staying at: Art of Animation
Dates: 11/30 - 12/4
