***Official Planning Thread -DECEMBER 2024 - Welcome all!***

I liked the Christmas tree stroll better when all the trees were in one area. They were scattered all over Disney Springs when we were there last December.

I think it's a game? You get a map with stickers and you put sticker next to tree you think it is. Not sure if there is a prize though.

What are you all most excited for this trip? I'll start. :D
My answers are different because we are arriving AFTER Christmas, but...

I am exited for the Behind the Seeds tour I am booking for my daughter's 13th birthday!
We are also going to do Capture Your Moment for the first time that day, as well.
We can't wait to spend NYE in Epcot with one meeeelion of our closest friends.
I am hoping to still get to eat some Holiday goodies on our trip.

What are you all most excited for this trip? I'll start. :D

(in no particular order)
First time during holidays. Can't wait to see the parks at night with the Christmas lights!
The Merry Menagerie at AK!
Festival of the Holidays at Epcot.
Seeing Luminous in person.
The Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights. We've done Halloween party a couple times, so this will be different!
Trying new restaurants.
Staying at AKL - can't wait for this!
I'm even excited to stay the night we fly in at the MCO Hyatt! 😂

A lot! lol
  • Being back period! Last trip was January 2013, so much has changed!! Really looking forward to Pandora, Galaxy's Edge, Tiana's🤞 and Remy the most.
  • Festival of Holidays, especially the candle light processional
  • 1st MVMCP
  • 1st Jollywood Nights

Ooh… so many things…

- Our first stay at the Poly!
- The holiday music all over, themed to wherever it’s playing
- Festival of the Holidays food booths and storytellers
- HS at night - the holiday decorations, show on the Tower of Terror, and snoap falling on the way out to the buses
- The Merry Menagerie and the holiday show on the Tree of Life at AK
- The resort decorations, especially the giant tree at AKL and the gingerbread house at GF
- Holiday themed food and cocktails everywhere!

You just gave me more things to be excited about! I did not know about Animal Kingdom’s merry menagerie or the holiday show on the tree of life.

Reading about the tree show, there’s mention of a caveat that the park must be dark before closing time for the show to happen.

Is it safe to assume that by early December every night is dark before closing?

Oh I forgot! And I hope I don't keep forgetting...the Smellephants On Parade at MK! 😂 I want to see them!
Are these the elephant statues near Dumbo? All our DD -special needs (after having us sprint after her when she saw them) wanted to do was just stand there and pretend to feed them. She wouldn’t budge. We just forgot about our Genie+ LL and let her have at it for like over an hour! Grabbed some popcorn and drinks. We do have some great photos of her there.

Yes, that's it!

Mostly excited for that Christmas music down Main Street 🥰

On Jollywood nights - is HS somewhat “less crowded” during the day? I remember party days are less crowded at MK as some people don’t have park hoppers and didn’t want to waste a day due to having to leave a little early?

If you guys don't see me anymore it's because my husband has had me committed for buying yet another jacket for the trip! 😂

We are there 9 nights. The weather may be anything!

I need a packable rain jacket, a jacket for if it's cool but not cold to wear with jeans, my cold weather jacket (in fairness will wear this on plane) and a cropped jean jacket to wear with dresses!

Perfectly sensible. 😇

We were in the parks Dec 2022 and it never got too cold, but was a bit chilly for the pool on one or two days (75 felt cold even though it’s shorts weather up north). On another trip the first week of Nov it was 54 degrees and that’s when we found the only blanket left in the gift shop (the baby yoda travel blanket@Epcot creations shop).

Target has a cropped Jean lapel color jacket which would look great with dresses.

This all sounds logical to me! 😁

I’m pretty sure they run the show every night - we’ve been there early December and mid-December and they’ve always run it.
