Yes Classes are posted for October. I have decided not to enroll my kids this trip though

I'm curios if it is realistic to do tusker house at 8 and do the safari, folk, Everest, dinosaur, meet dug and Russell and have enough time for a break and go to MNSSHP! My thing is if I do this I can have two days at Epcot for F&W Instead of having one day and going on arrival day Saturday. I hear F&W is really bad Saturday night

Really! Thanks for letting me know! I was on there today looking, but didn't scroll all the way down before I had to go check on a kid so I didn't get that far! LOL!!! Long day!

I would say Yes, IF you can get FP+ set with everything just so. As far as F&W... I will say that I noticed it was A LOT more crowded on weekend nights and not as bad during week days. We plan to try to go during the day during the week this year instead of weekends.

So, for all of us here hanging out in the October thread....who else is waiting for flights to be released?

And who is driving down?

We're awaiting Jetblue's October fares with a bit of trepidation. We're travelling during the Canadian Thanksgiving week, and the airlines who service the border states (we generally fly from Syracuse, sometimes from Buffalo) have become wise to us Canucks and tend to raise fares substantially during our holidays as well. We *could* fly from Toronto, but refuse to fly Sunwing, Air Transat, or Air Canada Rouge (DH is a BIG guy and needs a decently spacious seat). Westjet's fares for our dates are ridiculous :scared1: so that leaves us with Jetblue or Southwest (not too keen on Southwest as that forces us to fly from Buffalo versus our preferred SYR, and we're no fans of their open seating policy).

I only half jokingly suggested to DH that we drive down (its just the two of us for our October trip) and he hasn't stopped laughing since :rotfl: .

I think JB fares should be out for October in early February, based on previous release dates. So, soon :goodvibes.

we drive. Its about 9 hours and a time change. We will drive Saturday stay at el cheapo hotel Saturday night and move to AKL Kidani Sunday morning. My personal plan for Sunday is relax at the pool till room is ready then get dressed for MNSSHP Sunday night :)

Add me to the waiting game! I don't want to book the hotel until I have our flights confirmed. Ideally, I'd like to go from the 2nd-12th but it will all depend on the cost of the flights. If it comes out too high, we'll just adjust our dates for later in the month. I'm toying with the idea of driving too but out of all of us, who am I kidding, I'm the one who doesn't handle long car rides. :o Ottawa to Niagara Falls does me in!

Waiting on JB so that I can reserve our room and then wait to see if Orbitz offers their 20% off activities promo. Then wait to see what better promos come out closer to the dates. Makes me think of Seuss...

The Waiting Place

Waiting for a train to go or a bus to come,
or a plane to go or the mail to come,
or the rain to go or the phone to ring,
or the snow to snow or waiting around for a Yes or No
or waiting for their hair to grow.

Everyone is just waiting.

Waiting for the fish to bite
or waiting for wind to fly a kite
or waiting around for Friday night

or waiting, perhaps, for their Uncle Jake
or a pot to boil, or a Better Break
or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants
or a wig with curls, or Another Chance.

Everyone is just waiting.

Dr. Seuss

PS - why do you have to get Southwest out of Buffalo? Is Rochester too out of the way for you?

We will be driving. It's a 12 hour drive for us. We originally thought we would leave early Friday morning and check in Friday night, but now we are considering leaving out Thursday after school/work and driving through the night. My husband works graveyards so he's accustomed to being up all night and this way the kids would sleep through most of the trip.

PS - why do you have to get Southwest out of Buffalo? Is Rochester too out of the way for you?

Rochester is a much further drive, as its almost exactly on the other side of the lake from us. So we have to go a-l-l the way around. Of course, there'd be far less traffic....en route to Buffalo, we have to cross Toronto. Syracuse is our best option overall. Easy drive (further than Pearson, but less hassle overall), no traffic, great little small airport, and nonstop flights (but only JB....SW does not fly from Syracuse).

I'm also not sure if SW offers non-stops out of Rochester. None of us are great flyers, so a nonstop is very much our preference.

It looks like we're moving our trip date up again to October 14-19! Dates to be confirmed once southwest and jetblue release their flight schedule.

Is there any other airline I'm missing that's discounted? We live in the Niagara area in Ontario and always fly from Buffalo. I miss the $49 flight days from southwest :(

So excited!! We will be surprising DD(6) and DS (3) and will be going for DDs birthday! Planning on getting a reservation at cinderellas royal table for her birthday!

I'm joining in for October. We booked yesterday- our dates 10th - 17th at ASMusic. We've never been in Oct. before so we are looking forward to it. Especially MNSSHP!! I am in planning overload right now. I can't get enough of the Dis! I don't know anything about F&W or the Halloween party so I'm really reading up on those! Also, this will be the first time we have had the regular dining plan so I'm researching TS restaurants like crazy! Any tips you have will be greatly appreciated! Can't wait - only 265 days to go!!

I'd say Allegiant is comparable in price for flights but you have to watch the extras. I have no experience with them but they fly out of Buffalo.

JB mentioned on their Facebook page yesterday that they would be extending their schedule through October 24th as of next Sunday (January 25th). So you should have those rates pretty soon!

Does Allegiant fly out of Buffalo airport, or the Niagara Falls airport? I had thought it was NF.

You are right Gina, they fly out of Niagara Falls, NY. Also, they fly into Sanford and not MCO. Sorry amchea for misleading you.

Glad to hear JB's next release is on Sunday. Although I was hoping it would cover the whole month of Oct. I wanted to compare the first half with the second.

Yesterday we arrived home from our first ever camping at Ft. W trip and now in our post Disney vaca, cold weather funk I am jumping head first into planning our next trip!

This is the first (and probably last ;) ) time we will be going twice in one year and we are so excited to be going in the fall again. Winter was definitely fun but we really enjoy the Halloween decorations, MNSSHP and the hotter weather.

We are staying at Pop from 10/25 - 11/1.

I am going to pour a cup of coffee and start reading this thread from page 1. Looking forward to planning with you all!

Well, we are completely booked for our little Halloween getaway! :cool1:
Husband had wayyyy too many AA miles, so he gave me free use ;), booked Poly and airfare, first class! :lmao:
All seriousness, we don't usually fly, we enjoy roadtrips, so haven't used his miles from his business card, so he had a ton to use. We also were not aware we could use them for hotels, so when I played around and found Disney resorts, you bet I was booking one of the monorail resorts!
After debating between Poly and CR, I decided I wanted to see the Poly after the refurb. AA had the Poly for less miles too, so I did it!
After the points I'll have banked over the next 10 months on my Disney Visa, I may have an almost free getaway. :thumbsup2
Makes me feel less guilty since we were just there first week of Dec. :bitelip:
That is amazing!!

We had done TH, Safari, EE, FOLK, Dinosaur, Kali, Primeval Whirl and TtbaB by about 1:30 with no FPs on a morning EMH day.

So, for all of us here hanging out in the October thread....who else is waiting for flights to be released?

And who is driving down?.

We drive from Connecticut. Usually I enjoy the ride but after our extended drive home in the ice yesterday I am happy to wait 9 months to do it again ;)

So now that we are definite and in planning mode I am going to brainstorm with the kids to see what they want to wear to MNSSHP and if we are going to match or not. DH and our oldest are going to HHN at Uni instead :scared:

I am not as familiar with the Buffalo/Niagara airport options as I am the Syracuse carriers, so I just wanted to double check. I know Allegiant also flies out of SYR nonstop to Florida, but to Clearwater (not Orlando). Always nice to know what else might be workable if Jetblue prices us out of their flights (always my worry!).

Fingers crossed that JB fares are still within our budget for October, at the very least. We have already booked and paid for our may flights, and still have Christmas yet to go. Oh, my wallet :faint: .

3 trips in 8 months...I will live vicariously through you Gina! I am waiting on approval from work to take a year off, if I get it, then I really need a lot of pixie dust to make this fall trip happen. If not this year, then next. MNSSHP is on my bucket list. Cheap airfare vibes to both of us :)
