***OFFICIAL*** October 2011 - Updated 10/08/11

Good morning! We sing this to DD every morning to wake her up and so it's stuck in my head so I thought I'd share. I picked one with Spanish subtitles for those of you who need them and those who wish to be more cultural. http://youtu.be/bU2zoQ8gV-s One of my favorite movies. My mom and I used to watch old movies on rainy Sundays when I was growing up. She still gives me an old movie every Christmas. I love them. They don't make them like that anymore. :goodvibes

16 days today!! Two more work weeks or, as I like to say, one work week and one prep week! We're planning on pumpkin picking this weekend to take advantage of the nice weather. I'm sure everyone else will as well so it'll probably be a MADHOUSE where we go since they have hayrides and games and such.

I also, maybe not so smartly timing-wise, just switched my bank over from Bank of America (apologies in advance for anyone who works there) because of their nickel and diming me to death - that $5/month debit fee just set me right over the edge :headache:! I submitted my change for direct deposit today and set up all of my bill pays with my new bank, which is a regional bank and not a national bank. Should last a while until they get bought out. :rotfl: Anyway, not so worried about me being in Disney because I get paid bimonthly and it'll be well before and after we're there, but DH gets paid the Friday before we leave, so we have to make sure we pay everything THAT DAY and that it goes out right. PTL for mobile banking!!! We can check on things while we're there! The last thing we need is for something to get screwed up for a week and not know it! So I'll be playing with their online banking tools for a while today because they have some SUPER cool ones AND we got $150 EACH for switching over! :woohoo: (DH and I keep separate checkings but a joint savings.)

Off to a great start so far! Sunny in the Mid-Atlantic is ALWAYS a great start! Bon Voyage to all those headed to WDW this weekend. Have a FANTASTIC time!!! :cheer2::cheer2:

ME TOO! ME TOO! :woohoo:

loll It's been a while since I've been on this thread so long that it still says we're staying at Pop, which is no longer so. I don't know if it make any difference now (since we're so close) but DH and I are now staying at BC, same dates.

We really wanted BC but the discount at Dolphin was just one we couldn't pass up. So we'll wave to you across the lake.

What's your plan for the weekend? Are you doing food & Wine? We'll mostly be in Epcot. Thurs night we'll be around the Boardwalk area. We have ressies at Cape May.

I'll have my LGMH!

I get to carry all my carry-ons PLUS the baby PLUS my husband. :rotfl: I kid you not, he will be leaning on me, almost comatose, when we land. Oh, the joys of vacation. ha ha ha

As far as I know, this is every woman's emotional/mental life anyway, yours just plays out physically too. :lmao: If I was there I'd give you a hand. Can you stick him in a wheelchair or a big boy stroller? :rotfl:

:rotfl: I'm a reformed nerd too. Former Oracle developer. Now I'm a Requirements Analyst. I spend my days translating between nerdspeak and business- speak.

:lmao::lmao: It's funny how nerds need their own translators!

Check out the DISigner forum on these boards. Search for "Journal" or "Planner". There are a lot of cute designs.

Here's a couple I turned up:

These are super cute! DD is 3 but I'm already making mental notes for when she learns how to write!!

This time next week we'll be on a plane to FL. Well, that's not entirely true. The plane we'll be on is going to TX, then we get on another plane to FL. Soo excited!! I'm holding off packing the carry-ons till Monday. wednesday is mani/pedi day for DD and me. I won't pack luggage till Thursday, we don't have the extra cloths to get us through the week.

Today when DD gets out of school, we're headed to our local corn maze/pumpkin patch. Ours was on one of Travel Channels top 10 Halloween destinations shows. It's gotten to the point where we have to do mulitple trips to do everything we want. It's DL big, but it's spread out and all the attractions take at least 20 minutes to do. This will be our second time going this year. We'll get our pumpkins, ride a tram and train ride, jump in the bounce houses, and shoot pumpkins out a pumpkin blaster. We may even mine for gems if we have time.:thumbsup2

That sounds sooo fun!!! Maybe I can get hubby to agree to a pumpkin patch for tomorrow. It is supposed to be 80 degrees here.

I have hit the wall at work. Actually, I hit it around noon, but there you go. UGH And now I have to sit and wait around for one of the drivers to get back so I can have a "discussion" with her. Why her department head is not taking care of it and pushing it off to me is anyone's guess.

Have a great evening!!!

Friday afternoon discussion's are never good. :scared1:

I hit my wall at 2. I just don't wanna do anything anymore but get in my car and go on vacation. I only have 6 days, but I think they may take forever.

Hey Everyone! I know I'm late to the October planning party but last night we booked a long weekend trip for 10/15-10/19  DH suprised us last night :woohoo: This will be our first stay at POP and we are so excited about it! It didn't seem like we were going to go this year b/c of other things, but that all changed :thumbsup2

I've never booked a trip within the 14 day time frame. I read the fine print when making the ressie and it stated that if a trip is booked within 6-14 days (we were 9 days out when we booked) of arrival, the travel documents would be sent express for a fee, but that's all the info we got. Does anyone hear know how that works? We are so excited to be able to do MNSSHP and F&W festival again this year. I have so much planning to do, so many lists to make, so many disney movies to watch and so much info on the DIS to find! And of course I still need to do online check-in :cheer2:

i hit my wall at about 8 this morning when the washer repair man told us it would $1300 to fix the machine. I laughed out loud would anybody pay that when you can buy a new one for $700 ish. Thank goodness for warrenties it will it only cost $129.00 But just can't get up any energy to accomplish anything.

:scared1: Seriously! And thank goodness for warranties is right!!!

Happy Friday everyone! There's only one thing the folks in the Philly area are talking about right now, and it ain't the weather or the weekend! :thumbsup2

Very exciting.

Last Oct we booked 5 days out. We were room-only so there really wasn't much paperwork. You likely won't get your Magical Express documents. But that's ok. As long as you are on the DME list, just check in at the desk at the airport and they'll give you what you need to get on the bus.

We will be driving to WDW and have booked a package. We were hoping to hear from disney today about the paperwork, but that didn't happen. The fine print also mentioned that if a ressie was made under the 4 day mark, then the paperwork would be waiting at check-in, maybe that's when we will get it. Thanks for the info!

No, they aren't, but this one is of a different sort. Remember: I'm the financial officer for the company (I handle the $$$ :rotfl:). Let's just say she works part-time, but has health benefits for her entire family because we're nice. She works for one of our subsidiaries and her manager was supposed to be collecting the difference owed each week for the health insurance (her paycheck doesn't cover it). Needless to say, after an internal audit this was found. She owes quite a bit of money and never came to see me yesterday. She parked her bus and left. Never bothered. Guess she doesn't want the health insurance that bad. As of Monday afternoon, she will be cancelled for non-payment.

Yes, these are the joys of my job. :headache:

I hate being the bad guy, but that goes with the title. Unfortunately, I can't be everyone's friend when the company has to turn a profit and be productive. UGH

I would have laughed that guy out the of the house!!! :lmao: Seriously. I admit, I kinda skimped when it came to purchasing our new washer in February 2010. I would have loved to get one of the fancy-front loading ones, but we went with a basic GE model, no fancy stuff, that was super capacity. I think I paid less than $500 for it (Lowes is my friend).

Glad you were covered with the warranty, though.

SplashMtCrew....I have added you to the first post. Have fun next weekend!!!! And congrats on the surprise trip!

Sad faces for Philly this morning! :(

I just noticed you are also from the burbs! Where do you go pumpkin picking? It is my favorite thing to do this time of year. Last year my DF and I went to a local farm which was fun, but I'd love to hear of more great spots in the area!
