***OFFICIAL*** October 2011 - Updated 10/08/11

We carry more now that DSis has the wheelchair but I'm usually a minimalist. I don't like to carry a bag at all. Even a backpack is awkward on rides. I use a chest harness bag for my camera and I favor cargo shorts with big pockets.

I carry DS's autograph book, cameras, spare batteries, iPhone, and ponchos, only if I think it's going to rain.

DS has a poke walker. It's a tiny device that came with one of his Pokemon nintendo games. He transfers a Pokemon and then earns points for every step he takes. The device has mini games so it's great for lines. Fits in his pocket.

I am used to DLR so we carry only the cameras usually and anything extra we just put in the lockers. Since the parks in WDW are bigger, are the lockers just not convenient? Or do most people just prefer to have quick/easy access to these other items. Don't forget, I don't have kids, so some of these things I don't have to worry about! :thumbsup2

We leave the day after tomorrow. I think FINALLY DBF is getting excited. He sent me a text that he's only working a half day tomorrow! :yay: Hmm...I wonder who has been telling him to do that for the last month or so....? :confused3

Every time I look at the weather I get depressed. I "know" it won't rain all day, but when you look at the forecast, there is not ONE picture of the sun until the day before we leave. It's just sad. And now it's raining again here today. Maybe it's me! LOL

I'm a big no for flu vaccines, too. And the chicken pox/shingles thing is sooo true, I've had them both.

My park bag is a Mickey Mouse canvas messenger bag. It'll hold the youngest's space cloths, phone, camera, tickets, small 1st aid kit with mole skin, and some motrin with room to spare. Deffinatly not leaving it in the stroller. Money and ID I'll keep in one of my pockets. My DD is bringing her own park bag, a chinch style with some external zipper pockets on it.

Also bringing Duffy and DS's bear Boo, I'm sure they'll make it into a few shots.

It's been great reading everyone's posts and getting excited about my trip! :cool1: We have three days to go. For me, that means one long work day (13 hours tomorrow, ergh), one normal work day on Friday, and some serious packing, cleaning/laundry, and preparation on Saturday (including a haircut/manicure/pedicure for me)! Hopefully there's time for it all :scared1: Then we leave on Sunday, drive all day, stay at a Holiday Inn and Monday is DAY ONE of our WDW vacation! There are no words for how happy and excited I am, but a dancing banana comes close -!

In case you're totally focused on Dis stuff like I am -- Apple just announced that Steve Jobs is dead.

Omg. Not unexpected but sad none-the-less. He changed the world.

I'm working on fun Dis stuff tonight. I just printed an Epcot passport for DS. :cool1:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2757931

He had the official one last time but I figured we'd do something different. I have a little Pogo printer that prints wallet sized photo stickers. So he can use his camera to take pictures, get the Kidcot stamps and take notes.

All credit for the passport design goes to Patnl34. There are a number of passports on the DISigners forum but this was my favorite.

So the good news is that this time next week, I will be getting ready in my resort for EPCOT. The bad news is I left my phone at home today, and I feel lost without it.

Hope everyone has a great day.

He truly was a visionary. So sad....not unexpected, but sad the same. May he rest in peace.

I understand what you mean....I hate to be apart from my phone. Even though it usually only rings once per day, I feel like such a big part is missing if I don't have my phone.

Well, I was listing to my iPod Disney music while in the shower this morning and you can definitely tell hubby is excited....he wouldn't shut up about how he is looking forward to Soain'. :rotfl: And I just got an email asking if there are DVD players in the rooms. *sigh* can't two weeks get here like tomorrow?

Have a great day....off to do lots of stuff (cut checks, payroll, merge sales orders)......

SINGLE DIGIT DANCE!!

I am sooooo excited!:woohoo: My suitcases are slowly filling. I can't put in all the shorts yet because temps keep going back up - we will hit close to 90 today!:scared1:

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday! Like Figment - I've got lots to do today. (web governance; software requirements gathering; training manual; form creation) Doesn't that sound like fun? Ahhh - the life of a nerd!:lmao:

I got Mickey Mail yesterday !!!!:banana::cool1::cool1: I'm getting so excited, who am i kidding, i've been excited since the day i booked, 304 days ago!

Here now!!! Arrived to the Animal Kingdom Lodge around midnight last night everyone is still sleeping!! Ready to get going but their sleep is probably more important got a busy week ahead!! Looks like it might rain the last half of our trip though.

Thank you all for your great input on bags. I'll be sure to not leave anything in an unattended stroller!

Funny question -- can you take loose articles on the more intense rides? I guess I was picturing something like our local amusement park roller coasters where you can't carry a bag on. Are there cubbies by the "big" rides for backpacks?

Really, really trying hard to focus on work.

Oh, and happy birthday to our Baby Princess, Kallyn, who turns 1 today!!princess:

:yay::yay:8 more days!!:yay::yay:

Two weeks from now we'll be in the airport.

ME TOO! ME TOO! :woohoo:

loll It's been a while since I've been on this thread so long that it still says we're staying at Pop, which is no longer so. I don't know if it make any difference now (since we're so close) but DH and I are now staying at BC, same dates.

OMG - I knew he wasn't well, but to go this quickly! So sad, he was brilliant.:sad2:

Yeah, I think that's what was shocking about the news last night.

Ugh! Every morning I leave the house without my phone. Get about 2 blocks away and have to turn around and go back and get it. A tribute to Steve Jobs. Before my iPhone I would've just left it at home!

Yay!!! I  AKL. DH and I stayed there on our Disneymoon and fell in love with it! We're staying at the Poly this time and will probably be at FWL next time, but I have a feeling we'll be back at AKL after that. It's just such a beautiful resort! :cloud9:

17 days today! I'm starting to think of my remaining TUD (time until Disney) as one full week of work and then prep for Disney week before we go. I know I have 2 full work weeks left, but the week before we go will be filled with prep time like a pedicure, eyebrow wax, last minute pickup items, stopping the mail, getting the neighbor to watch the kittens, etc. It makes me happier to think of things that way. :cutie:

Well, I'm working from home today waiting for the exterminator to come because we have gnats. He's 20 minutes late but I think he pulled up just now. Have lots to do today too - catch up on the DIS, look for a new backpack, Facebook, read some news.... :rotfl: No, I have some work to do between that. Some very exciting Site Security Standards training to create. Aren't you all jealous???? :rolleyes1

Bug guy is here - gotta run!

Bags are at the door, My dad is taking me to pick up the rental car in about an hour. I will have to take something to sleep tonight. Plan to set the alarm for 4am and have my coffee, then I will wake up DH & DD at 4:30am and should be out the door by 5am.
