***OFFICIAL*** October 2011 - Updated 10/08/11

I AM TOTOALLY PACKED!!!!! Yes, that's right....the suitcases are done and are stacked up and ready to go.

Wow! Now I really feel behind. :scared1:

Actually, I think i'm not doing too badly under the circumstances. My main goal for this past weekend was to try to get everything non-Disney off my plate. I didn't do everything on my list but I got a lot -- paid the bills, got haircuts, did some laundry and got most of the PTA stuff done. I have a PTA meeting Wednesday, after that i'm not thinking about school stuff until I get back.

I will finish laundry and pack next weekend. Packing doesn't stress me too much because I have regular packing lists (with an additional Disney list), so I just have to check everything off. I also made about half of the stuff for DS's birthday party. I'll post pics as soon as I get it all finished.

And more pixie dust- i made round two for the Moms Panel! I get to see what our round two questions and video request is tomorrow. Then I have to do that before Friday too! At least I won't have to stress about it on the trip.

That's so exciting!!! Congrats!!! I'll be thinking happy thoughts for you in round two! :thumbsup2

Today was really great day weather-wise. We were expecting it to still rain all day. My shoes were barely dry from yesterday! But we get to DHS just after lunch, and what is that? Is that my first FL blue sky???YAY!!!!

We didn't have to wear our ponchos all day!! Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the rain, but I feel like I was able to see a lot more of the park today than I did at MK on Sat!

Yay!!!! :cheer2::cheer2:

I'm loving all the great stories from everyone's trips :) I am starting to feel the pressure... throwing a surprise 50th birthday party for my mother in law on October 29th and at 3am the next morning we have to leave for our flight! I am officially crazy. She was here this weekend and kept saying how she can't believe all the planning I'm doing for Disney. If she only knew that's only HALF of my planning going on! haha...
:scared1: You are a brave person!!!

10 Days!

I know I mentioned that DH was really getting involved in the planning, and how unusual that was for him. It's now gone to a whole new level. He's been reading Disney blogs and reading forums. He and DSis created a spreadsheet with all the food items from F&W so that each of us could rank them from 1-3. And the funniest thing of all, he now understands and uses the Disney abbreviations like a pro. :rotfl:

He's also been talking about things we're going to do on our next trip. :yay:

After we came back from our long trip in Feb, he didn't quite say "we don't need to go back for a while because we've done almost everything" but he was pretty close to that point. And what caught him up in this trip was the food & wine, but it's clearly gone beyond just food now. He's well on his way to Disney-obsessed.

Wow, impressive!! DH said we needed a spreadsheet but I'm just not a spreadsheet kind of girl. I have an app for that. :thumbsup2

13 more days! :woohoo: I'm crawling out of my skin, I can't take it anymore. I almost look forward to the weekends being OVER just because it means another week has gone by. Is that nuts? :rotfl:

I just scheduled ANOTHER character meal and I don't know what I'm going to knock out of my schedule, if anything, for it or just pay oop. We schedule Hollywood and Vine for breakfast on the 28th since DD LOVES the Little Einsteins and I think that may be the only chance she'll get to meet them. If she is freaked by characters in the beginning of the week I can cancel it. I was originally thinking of canceling our 1900 PF dinner for it but I really want to go there. ;) I can't wait to see the step sisters! The two I'm questioning are La hacienda on the first night - we may not make it in time just with travel exhaustion and just get tacos to go instead (and that magarita Melanie - don't you worry!), or Tusker House for breakfast the day after the party, although I really want to do that because I hear it's yummy. So we'll see. It's all about DD this trip, though, so we'll work around what works for her.

I also realized this weekend that the bag I had for the park isn't going to work. I have one of those nylon backpacks, which I love day to day, but when I tested it this weekend with my camera and camcorder, it weighed it down too much and was sagging on my butt, which was not cool. I don't like having a bulky backpack, so I am hoping I can find something smaller but more structured to use. I can't do messengers or slings because I don't like things that cut across me. ho hum. Cutting it close, right???

Off to search!

One possible option is to see the Step Sisters at MNSSHP. They Meet & Greet in the Hub.

I thought of that too, but I thought the dinner might have better interactions. Not as rushed, you know? Well, it's not like we won't be back!

So I know a few of you have posted a pic, so here's mine. This is a year old and my hair is different now, but for the most part we all look the same. DD's hair is longer and I have bangs now, but that's about it. DH looks the same. If you see us -

It is wonderful that he is getting so involved!!! I can tell my DH is getting excited, too.....as the days go on, he's mentioning more and more what rides he wants to go on, which characters he hopes to see, etc.

Well, no need to feel scared, you are way ahead of me on the other stuff. lol The weeks and a half should go fast because Kyle has wrestling tonight, we have a follow-up with Amy's doc late tomorrow afternoon and then Amy has baton, Wednesday I have a wrestling meeting, Thursday is dance, Saturday is a Temple football game, Sunday is my hair appointment, Monday starts my audit and then Tuesday is my nail appointment.

Oh...and I am overly stressed because of a "HIB" (harrassment, intimidation and bullying) letter that the school sent out for Quinn (yes, that's right the almost three year old) that they refuse to rescind. Hey, Lisa, maybe you'll see us on the Channel 3 news! :rotfl:

It's a long story and I am just so stressed over the whole ordeal!!!! I so need this vacation!!!!

What a lovely picture!!! And yes, we are on for that margarita!

Wow! I'm very supportive of anti-bullying policies, but that's just wrong on so many levels. Hang in there! Pixie dust (and lot's of margaritas) will make it all better. :wizard:

Seriously? For a 3yo? Well, I'll be on the lookout for you! :rotfl: Sounds like we both need that drink(sssssss)! :drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1

Ok, October friends, I'm hitting you up one more time! :flower3:

DS is obsessed with all things Star Wars. I've tried to read about Jedi Academy on the DIS, but I'm still confused. Does anyone know for sure where I can sign up, and whether or not there are still meet and greets for Darth Vader, storm troopers, or others?

Only 4 days to go. I'm an odd mix of super excited and mildly panicked!

Thanks so much!

-Megan

oh so stressed: DD broke her glasses at school last Friday went to go get them fixed today and guess what I can't find them anywhere:scared1: I even dug through two very gross garbage bags. Then to top off this wonderful day Jeff (DH) just called and said he doesn't think they will have the washer fixed before we leave. Can you image the pile of laundry building upin our basement. My head is just spinning, i need (okay) want a drink.

Update: found Kate's glasses in the recycle bin; everybody was doing the happy dance.

I was just thinking about this yesturday. I've never been to DHS and don't know the layout. At DL they don't do sign ups, it's just be excited and raise your hand and hope you get picked. I need a game plan, too, cause I also need to get FP's for Toy Story. When you find out, please share :thumbsup2

Lets see if I can remember everything.

They have a kiddy play area designed for toddlers to kindergardners with two bounce houses, three jumping "pillows" (the look like the top part of a parachute streatched out and inflated), the large corn maze, a train ride, mystery tram ride, a scar crow tram ride (locals build a scar crow and the public judges them, the ones with the highest votes wins), an info about the farm tram ride, a hay ride, a tractor with cars attached ride, the pumpkin patch (they are one of the largest pumpkin distributors and thier pumpkins are sold at stores all over northern CA), country store, a monster tire pile for climbing on, gem mining, pumpkin blasters (pumpkins grown specficaly for their cannons), Haunted castle, zip line, 25ft tall rope obstical course, petting zoo, pony rides, horse rides, tricyle races. phew!! I think thats it.

In the winter time they have "christmas on the farm" with santa, riendeer, snow (real snow to sled on, not the bubble snow), ice skating, and a mile long light display that you can take the train to see or be in your own car.

So, tomorrow is "pack the carry ons" day. I still need to get one more thing (apple flavored licorice) and I have to get my homework done.
Wow, that sounds absolutely amazing and a blast! I wish we had something that cool for the kids!

Today was really great day weather-wise. We were expecting it to still rain all day. My shoes were barely dry from yesterday! But we get to DHS just after lunch, and what is that? Is that my first FL blue sky???

YAY!!!!

We didn't have to wear our ponchos all day!! Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the rain, but I feel like I was able to see a lot more of the park today than I did at MK on Sat!
YEAH- so glad you had a nice day today- here's hoping for many more!

I just have to share our bit of pixie dust.

We are booked in a standard room at the All Star Music. When we got here yesterday, we discovered that we were upgraded to a, well I guess I'm going to call it a mini-suite. 1 bathroom, but it's HUGE with a seperate bedroom, kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator, pull-out couch, pull-out loveseat, and 3 TVs! I :lovestruc our room!

Another awesome thing that happened involved a cast member. We went to the Hoop-de-Doo Review last night. My daughter's shoes ended up rubbing a blister on her foot and, of course, I didn't have any bandaids with me. A cast member noticed and, saying anythingn, went and got us bandaid. It was the nicest thing and boy did my daughter appreciate it.
Yeah for pixie dust! That is one of the family suites and they sound amazing! What a great upgrade for you guys! Enjoy it! :wizard::wizard:

Congrats on making the second round!!! That is just so great.

I did invest in a new stroller cover. I went to get mine from the garage and, lo and behold, it had a tear. So, off to Babies R Us I went. Have safe travels at the end of this week.

Those are the family suites. What wonderful pixie dust!!! I hope the rest of your vacation is just as nice.

I AM TOTOALLY PACKED!!!!! Yes, that's right....the suitcases are done and are stacked up and ready to go. I finally got sick of worrying about forgetting to pack the socks (the last thing that needed to go in) and went out to Walmart and bought some for everyone (well, except me, I've had mine put aside for awhile).

Now I just have to double-check my list, try and get a rental car for cheaper than I'm currently booked. and work my butt off to get ready for this audit next week. Why does my inbox seem to multiple every time I turn around? :rotfl:

Have a great day!!!
woo hoo, you packed!!! I went and bought socks and underwear for DS, he was thrilled since i found Phineas and Ferb underwear, including one that is just a big perry face on his butt. It's pretty cute on a 4yo. :rotfl: oh, thanks for reminding me, i wanted to check the rental car again too. I think i got as good as I will get, but can't hurt to look again. Work is crazy for me too- tons of meetings, big webinar on Wednesday and big presentation with my boss Thursday. But as of Thursday at 5pm, I am on vacay!!

If she only knew that's only HALF of my planning going on! haha...

We've finally settled on a way to tell DS about the trip... I'm going to make a slideshow video for him to watch that morning when he gets up and then there's going to be a box full of stuff for him (Nightmare before Christmas stuffed toy, "my first airplane ride" tshirt to wear that day and an invite to MNSSHP for that night). DD is getting a box as well since she's not going with snow white shoes & an alice doll.
Holy cow, talk about being stressed, that tops it all! We did a surprise bday for my mom's 60th and it went great last year. I can't imagine having a trip planned right after, literally hours after! Hope all goes well. The surprise for your son sounds so fun- i love the first airplane ride shirt!

wow, yeah for DH!!!! Don't you just love when they get involved? My DH doesn't care what we do, well if he does, he just says, be sure we eat here or whatever. But the fact that he comes along and even bought us DVC last year was enough to shock me! He just isn't a planner (not just with Disney, with everything). He does everything last minute, so my planning drives him a little batty! :confused3

no, no no!!! nothing else is allowed to go wrong. you hear me????? You definitely need a drink, okay how about a flight of tequila shots in the cave?? La cava!

Okay, got my moms panel questions answered, need to film my video on Wednesday night. My sister is coming over to film me and help! Then I submit it on Thursday.

Tons of meetings to get through at work, but I do see the light at the end of the tunnel and I just keep looking towards it. THREE more work days. Almost there!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Four days for me. Began packing yesterday; almost done! But then again - it's only me. DD (22) can pack for herself; at least she better, since she doesn't live at home anymore. :lmao: And DH is taking his golf clubs as his one checked bag. Since I'm flying Southwest (he's on a different airline), I get two bags, so I may have to check one for him, too. Glad I have my ME tags!

We leave two weeks for tomorrow...I can't wait! Things have been tense around here and I think a trip to WDW is just what we need to help lift our spirits!

Welcome home- so glad you had a great time! How was MNSSHP- what night did you go?

TYSM! So sad to be back to reality! LOL!We were at the MNSSHP on OCT 2! It was really cute, fun & wonderful! I am so glad I got to experience it! We stayed for the later parade & it was less crowded then the first. The CM's at the parade were wonderful! What a magical time!

Almost time to head to my favorite place! Started packing last night. Will finish up tonight.
As my DD4 says, "Only 3 more sleeps before we are at Disney World!":yay:

How'd you do that and can you share the secret?? :lmao::lmao:

I went to Rite Aid today, a ritual after going to the bank. This time I had a purpose. I needed batteries, a couple disposable cameras for DS3 (because I want some pictures from his prespective and I don't want him to hurt my camera), a memory card for DD10's camers, and some sleep meds. The meds are mostly for me on Thursday night after I'm done packing. I'm worried that I'll be to excited to sleep and I have to get up at 4am on Friday morning.

Not sure if this the correct place to post this, but I'll give it a shot. We can do online checkin tomorrow (10 days tomorrow until we arrive :cool1::cool1:)

We have a split stay, first night is a room only, followed by a 6 night package with free dining. I have requested that we keep the same room for the entire stay. We were told that they could not assure us of this but they will try their best.

So tomorrow I'm doing the online checkin for our arrival date (Oct.22), will I have to do another online checkin the next day (this Thursday) for the second part of our reservation (Oct 23-29).

I hope my question makes sense. Thanks in advance for your comments.

Mike
