***OFFICIAL*** October 2011 - Updated 10/08/11

You are going to be a perfect Barbie. Just think of it as adding you own style to Barbie. Most people will not even realize that you think the hair should be up. Hope you guys have a great time.

Smitch - it will be great even with the hair down. Really, it is all about the leg warmers!:thumbsup2

The wig is great, but I'm really bummed that I can't look exactly like her. I feel really stupid for worrying about something so trivial with everything going on in the world these days

I NEED my October peeps to tell me it's all gonna be okay!!!!:grouphug:

First world problems :lmao: Don't worry everything will be fine and nobody will even notice! I always stress about making my Halloween costumes perfect and accurate to what I am trying to be for Halloween but at the end of the day nobody notices one little detail that was missed!

Please don't tease me....I really do need for someone to print them. I could mail you the paper just tell me what kind to get.
I took everything to Kinko's talked to them they told me what kind of paper to get but the copier burnt the paper....I cried right there in the store.
And YES they are all color.
My answer is YES use that power baby. You are in charge so who is going to question you???? :rolleyes1
No problem! I just hope my copier doesn't burn the paper. We have an okie printer I may be able to use as well. Just tell me what kind of paper to get....I was planning on making a couple of shirts as well, so it's not a problem. Is it just regular decal paper? I know I used to have some, but it's sooooo old; even if I do find it somewhere, it's probably no good.

So, I will use my power and print you some decals!!!!

sooooo true!!! smitch, you'lL make a great Barbie.

Today is pay-day for my DBF and he transferred me most of his pay check to pay on our trip. The balance is officially under $1k! $900 more due in 18 days on 9/11! We can do this :thumbsup2 Or at least I hope so! Now I am just praying that the plane tickets don't sky-rocket by mid-September! :scared1: They've hovered around $200 for years now so....knock on wood....lol! I guess this kind of stress is the punishment we deserve for booking a fancy, expensive vacation completely on a whim LOL.

I'm trying not to stress by checking them all the time...but I just did and they are still the same price lol...Worst case scenario we will just have to pony up the cash if it's more expensive.

Congrats on paying your trip off! WHOO! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay::banana::banana::banana::cool1::cool1::dance3::cheer2: I can't wait until I can say the same.

I have to say though...although it was kind of irresponsible of us to book a trip on a whim like this with no money saved towards vacation, it was just the kick in the butt we needed :happytv: We were talking about saving for vacation for months and of course the money always went somewhere else...well now that we owe it by a certain date the money isn't going any where BUT to Disney!

Hey I got a notification from AirTran yesterday they are having a sale til tomorrow have you checked out them? I booked mine pretty cheap or so I think back in March and this price was almost comparable I found, and they were nonstop flights too. 107 there 127 coming home? I ended up paying 87 there and back wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy back in March this is the cheapest I've found since and I check like a freak constantly. Just a little fyi if you wanted to check, hell I'm bored I'll check for you will see if I can find your dates, oh I'd have to know where your flying outta too ho hum.:confused3

How in the world did you get those great rates????? From NC to FL it's 209+tax & fees round trip....I fly at $87 instead of drive. The way I am figuring = Cost to drive (rental car + gas) $600 - so If i could come at $450 total or less I could convince my DH (who has never flown) to fly the 1 1/2 hour rather then drive for 9 hours.

Thanks for making me feel better about my Barbie hair!:rotfl: Last night before bed the kids asked me to put it on and show them what it looked like. My DS6 said, "Mommy, I bet you'll look even more beautiful with blonde hair.":lovestruc I went upstairs and put the wig on and walked into his room and he said "Whoa...I like it, but you should stick with the brown on normal days.":lmao: DD8 thought it was great, and she gave me "permission" to wear it down for the party even though "Barbie's hair is up with a scarf in the movie, Mom"..:rotfl: I guess since I got approval from our resident costume nazi I will not stress any longer.:thumbsup2 Going to get the fabric paints to start on DH's shirt this morning. Yesterday I found him a $5 gold belt and it is superdupershiny gold! Hilarious!

Have a great day, everyone!!!!

51 days and counting!:woohoo:

OMG! Someone else who gets "First World Problems"! I said that on another thread and someone got on my case about it... I was like "It's a joke people!".

So, for Fantasmic, we decided just to keep our DHS day as is and, if we are up for it, to see the show that night. We're not going to change anything or worry about it. If it works out, awesome... if not, no biggie.

I bought my wig for my Barbie costume today, but there is no way that I will be able to put it in a ponytail and have it look right. My hair is sooo dark and the way wigs are made it just will not work, so I have to wear it down.:sad1: DD has a hot pink sequence headband that I can wear instead of the scarf around the ponytail. The wig is great, but I'm really bummed that I can't look exactly like her. I feel really stupid for worrying about something so trivial with everything going on in the world these days, but now that the kids have been in school for a week (and I've been home all day alone for the first time since having them), I've been focusing on getting stuff ready for MNSSHP and this glitch in the plan is bugging me!:rotfl: I debuted my wig and outfit (without the belt--not done yet) for my neighbor and she thought it looked great even with the hair down, but...

I NEED my October peeps to tell me it's all gonna be okay!!!!:grouphug:

Sometimes we need to focus on trivial things to forget everything else going on in the world. Your Barbie costume brings us all joy!!! :lovestruc

SHUT UP! :woohoo: We're on AirTran now and they keep shifting our flights. We got good rates, but I'm going to check tomorrow to see if they reduce the rates and if they add another flight between ours and the 7AM flight, which would be ideal. :thumbsup2

So I posted this on the other thread, but I'll repeat here. Yesterday I realized that with MNSSHP on 10/23, which is the day we are getting to WDW, and our flight being bumped back an hour, our day in MK has been reduced to about 2-3 hours, much of that time being spent in CP for dinner. I don't want to do that. This will be DD3's first trip that she will be aware of (her first was at 10 months) and I don't want to take her to the place I know she'll love the most (MK) for dinner and 30 minutes of rides and then tell her we have leave at 7PM. It makes me sad that we can't do MK our first day there, but we can't swing another party on this trip, so the one on 10/25 will have to do. So my question is, what are your suggestions for our first day? Should I get rid of the park hopper passes and just do the resort or DTD that day? Or maybe try and get into Chef Mickey's? Everything is pretty booked up right now, so it would be lucky for me to get in anywhere to eat. I was really hoping for 1900 PF so I could cancel our Wednesday night ressie for there and have that evening open for MK since we'll be missing Sunday night now. Or should we go to Epcot and try and do another park instead? I don't want to do DHS or AK since it'll be a longer ride and she'll be wiped from the day as it is.

We should be getting to the Poly around 3:30 or 4 if our flight times stand as is. I'm hoping to get our bags into the room and then go to dinner somewhere close, then do what we want to do for the rest of the night until 8 or so until DD collapses from exhaustion. I'm not sure that's worth park hopper passes, but I also know removing one day from the 7 day package deal doesn't really take that much off of the price, so I'm not sure it's worth it.

Any thoughts?

good morning everybody, not to brag but what a beautiful day in Minnesota. I was working on my Disney schedule since I changed some days around with Fantamic being shown every night. I noticed that the day we are at Epcot is an EMH having never been to the park during EMH, what stays open and what closes?:confused3

Just my thoughts.....4pm is so late in that day, and you will be traveling...so I say explore the resort and maybe DTD...you know that it is NOT MK, but she will just think it is awesome...so it may even make your MK day even better. I personally wouldn't "waste" a ticket for just a few hours...plus what if there is some kind of flight delay or something. You would be very upset to talk up going to the park when you arrive to find out you can't b\c of some kind of delay. The resort alone is going to be wonderful to explore so enjoy it.

Side note....I hope you read about the Vice Prez. being on Disney property that week. I think he will be there on like the 27th maybe??? If that date is correct (I think it is somewhere in this thread) you need to check your plans for that day.

I know, I was thinking AirTran has already bumped us so much, what if they bump us even more?? I was hoping to get a last minute ressie in CM or 1900 PF and that would give her a nice first day experience without being in the park. Then we can hang at the resort and she can play on the beach or even in the pool before bed. I think I'll check to see how much of a difference it'll make in price before deciding for sure.

I heard about the Veep being there. He's there the 28th, which is our last full day. We'll stay clear of the Contemporary that day for sure. We have a free day that day, but friends from FL are visiting so I think we had planned Epcot that day, so we'll probably stick to that.

We just got our flights last week using FF miles. I just LOVE a "free" flight! We're almost there!:woohoo:

whoo-hoo!!!! How nice!!! I don't have frequent flier miles (I am chained to my desk), so I am always jealous when people can use them. :goodvibes

Seriously, Biden's going to be in Disney?!? Gosh, I knew him way back when in Delaware politics. I used to work for a non-profit in Delaware and schmoozing was in the job title....we needed the funding, what can I say? Also, I worked for a CPA firm in DE that gave Biden donations and my boss knew the who's-who in DE. Biden's actually a really decent guy and I was glad when he got the job.

But...now I have to rethink things. I wonder if it's going to be possible to go to MK that day. That's our last day in the parks and I don't want to have to miss things because there's a motorcade. UGH....back to the drawing board.
