I paid Disney OFF on Monday!!! YEAH!!!!!

Yay on the payoff!

I paid mine off about a month ago, but I had started paying in Jan. So far, I have Disney and Southwest paid. I have also purchased several of the gift cards from Sam's Club. You get $100 gift card and $10 Disney Store gift card for $98.89 - only a little savings, but I'll take all I can get! Since we didn't get FD, I figure this will be our way of paying for it ahead of time.

Seriously, Biden's going to be in Disney?!? Gosh, I knew him way back when in Delaware politics. I used to work for a non-profit in Delaware and schmoozing was in the job title....we needed the funding, what can I say? Also, I worked for a CPA firm in DE that gave Biden donations and my boss knew the who's-who in DE. Biden's actually a really decent guy and I was glad when he got the job.

But...now I have to rethink things. I wonder if it's going to be possible to go to MK that day. That's our last day in the parks and I don't want to have to miss things because there's a motorcade. UGH....back to the drawing board.

I have never met him, however I used to work in the Hotel business and I also worked on a gubernatorial campaign (on the other side) so I have met list of political people on both sides- some were great, some were not. Sadly the ones who were the best for the job didn't make it past the primary elections (to good I guess).

Anyways as for going to MK that day, predictions are that transportation will be VERY slow to MK so I think that once you get in you should be ok, unless he plans to visit the park then you may have an issue.

So if I have this correct then you could save almost $300 by buying these $100 plus $10 gift cards from Sams??? That is a good savings. Something for me to look into at B.J.'s

He was great for DE and he tells it like it is and I have the utmost respect for people who can do that and not lose sight of who they are and who got them there - on both sides of the table. Even with his falling asleep and diarrhea of the mouth!

I think the parks will be fine. I don't think he's leaving the CR. It'll just be the monorail and CR that'll be hellish. Anyone who has CM ressies for dinner that night might have some issues.

So it turns out that removing our park hopper passes our first day will save us - ready for this? - $15.97. Total. Not each, total. So I guess we'll just keep the passes and see what happens. I'm hoping AirTran will change the flights around and get an earlier flight that will work better for us. If they are having a sale tomorrow, maybe it'll happen then.

Actually, it would only be a little more than $30 in savings. The $10 gift card is for the Disney Store, so I don't think you can use those in the parks. I use the Disney Store cards to order new t-shirts for our trip. The $100 is a regular Disney gift card and can be used all over the parks. I just like that I can have them 'paid' for and not have to worry about spending a great deal of money OOP while there. I have been buying one at a time so the cost is spread out.

GOTCHA - If you could use the Disney Store card too....That would have been awesome. I may go ahead and start buying gift card and slowly pay for our next trip.

There was a DISer (I can't remember the thread) that bought enough to pay for something like $4500 on his package and got the points on his credit card that paid for his flight. Or something like that. I looked to see if I could find it again, as that is what gave me the idea to buy them, but no luck!

That had to be a loooong phone call with Disney - $4500 $100 at a time!

We are going Oct 18 to 25th staying at the boardwalk. Can't wait. The kids decided our countdown is going to start at 45 days. We all came up with stuff we wanted to do so I am making a calender and they will pick something each day to put on the calender. Can't wait. I need a vacation!!!!

I do not remember there being a pool bar at POFQ when we stayed there back in the early 90's not long after if opened, now I am thinking I want to go back there again for another stay.

Igot curious reading your post and went to see who is staying with me Oct 19-25 at WL and noticed my resort is listed as BLT.

I am sure I will enjoy...without or without any inconceniences. We usually do all four parks our last day and MK is our last stop. So, by that time, the monorail should be back to normal.

I believe it....that's why I add the park hoppers without a thought. I'm sure everything will work out, though. And I totally agree with what you said about Biden. "Even with his diarrhea of the mouth". That is soooo true!!!!

*sheepishly* Guess I have to change that then, huh? I'll get to it right now. You must've changed on me from the time I originally did it.
And I don't know the POFQ resort well enough, but I do know the POR has a pool bar. I was ticked off last trip because I left all my cash and credit cards in the room (we don't allow charges to go to the room) so I didn't get none. But this time I will!!!

Not many of us staying at the Poly the last week of October. I think we're all coming and going at the same times. We'll be leaving for each other!

So I guess we all complained a bit too much on the east coast about the thunderstorms the past few weeks and now Irene is heading our way. Right now we're in the middle of a WICKED tstorm as a precursor, I guess! I'm just glad Irene isn't supposed to really get here until Sunday because DDs bday and party is Saturday and I don't want all those people stuck in my house all day! Even if (especially if?) they are family!

Let's see, massive tornados down south and in the midwest in the spring, flooding as well, then record breaking heat, then thunderstorms for weeks on end, oh and the typical wildfires out west and then earthquakes in CO and the east coast and now Irene. Yup, armageddon for sure!!! Darn it! I hope the date is at least wrong and it holds off until we're all back from Disney!!

It has been a crazy weather year, hasn't it? I'm in the Southwest, and the fires have been unreal this year. Luckily my DH is a firefighter, so he's gotten loads of OT. Thank you, Mother Nature, for funding my WDW vacation.

Still, I think the end of the world is supposed to be next year, right? It's supposed to be on my sons birthday (12/21/12). We'll go out with a bang, I guess.

I am finally in the 40s. Yay! Trying to redo my 'Ohana adr and no luck so far. Doubt I'll be able to change it, since it's less than 2 months out and we need to go from a party of 6 to 8. If I can't snag a reasonably timed ADR for Ohana for all of us, my DH, Dad and 4 kids will go there and my mother and I will try out Chefs de France. Never been there and the menu looks good.
