Just found this cute glow in the dark Mickey skeleton shirt. Got one for myself and my 2 bestfriends for our trip. :cool1: I also got a mini witch hat that is on a headband. Dressing up at disney always seems much more fun.

Cute!!! :thumbsup2

Lovethattink, I agree. There are many more positives. Plus as I mentioned, her reasons for a negative review didn't seem like anything that would annoy me :)

Habsfan, I'm excited to stay and will be happy to just be in disney. Honestly, I think the only thing that could really ruin it for me would be terrible weather or really super crowds. I hate when places are like wall to wall (a 9 or 10) type of crowd that is why I picked Oct. however from many reports it appears to be somewhat more crowded then expected but still not capacity crowds so I think I'll be ok.

DH works with a guy who goes to Disney every year in October and he says the crowds during the week are never bad. The weekends can get busy but not like holidays or busy season. So even if we have one or two busy days, I think the majority of the crowds will be ok. Today's party is probably sold out because it's a Friday and I think the closer we get to Halloween, the more the weekend parties will sell out. We went to a sold out MVMCP a few years back and didn't think it was outrageous. Now the weather wasn't great that night - it was drizzling - but it wasn't poncho weather all night either. It wasn't anywhere close to the parks during the day during the summer. :scared1: I'll never do that again!!

LMC, I'm thinking the same, crowds will be less during the week. We arrive on a Sat. and it will not be a park day. We are doing MNSSHP on a Tues. Hoping it will be a little less crowded. I'm curious to hear the crowd reports for the park and the party after this weekend passes.

3 weeks left!!!:cool1:

me too! Are you going the 25th?

A week from today - yeah - we are leaving a week from today! One night at ASSP then checking in to YC! Can't believe it is finally here.

We were going the 25th but then I changed it. I'm really bummed because quite a few of us were going that day. I just figured best to do it earlier in the trip when we had more energy and NOT the night before we had an 8:30am YES class to get to. But I'm still really sad that we will be missing some of you. :sad1:

We're going on the 25th too! :cool1: Here's hoping for all of us that it's a less crowded night, especially being the week before Halloween!! :eek:

Got my Mickey Mail today!!! :banana: :banana: :woohoo: :dance3:

Well, the TA got it, but it's here!! We pick it up tomorrow on our way to some shopping at the outlets!!! :yay:

I'm attending MNSSHP on halloween :scared1: It's our families first time for MNSSHP. My DS ( 10 ) and DD ( 8 ) have been watching the youtube video's of the parade and are SO excited :banana: I'm a little worried about the crowds - all the reviews seem to indicate record crowd levels this year ( maybe everyone is going early to avoid the Halloween night rush :rotfl: ) I'm worried they won't have a good time if all we're doing is waiting in lines:guilty: I hate to start our trip off on a bad note. Any advice? ( you can lie to me and tell me Halloween won't be that busy, i'm good with that :lmao: )

Halloween won't be that busy.

:lmao::lmao:

I wish I could answer, but I haven't even been to one yet and I won't be there on Halloween. Tonight's is sold out and there are a lot of people reporting out their experience on various MNSSHP threads, so maybe someone will give a full report. Whatever people experience tonight will probably be pretty close to what it will be like on Halloween night.:thumbsup2

We did the Halloween party on halloween in 2007. It was pretty crowded but not overbearing. It is still less people than are at the park on alot of regular days so you will be fine. :thumbsup2

KatieCollette/LMC, we'll be there on the 25th too. I'm super excited. I was on touring plans earlier as they keep changing the park crowd expectations. I was hoping they had like a party indicator but don't see anything. O well. Out of 7 days we are visiting 2 parks on "not reccomended" days. One for F! which I am surpised. It was not a recommended day when I first booked it because it was an F! night and one of the only ones. Now it's offered every night so surprised that didn't change. The other is my AK day because it is EMH day for AK but I'm not so worried about that as we will only be there half the day. The rest is planned out pretty well (I'm hoping anyway ;))

Tlenzendorf, that makes sense. For our MNSSHP day I have a pool morning planned and don't plan to head to the park until about 2:00. So nice relaxing morning and for the day after we have an ADR but not until 10:30 t Chef M's so even if we don't get out until 10, I'll just cab it over and it should be fine. No matter what time we get in the night before we won't sleep until after 9, we never do.

The list is up to date as of now. :welcome: to all the newbies to the thread. Pull up a seat and make yourself at home. Some of us are at WDW now and will check in later.

Update on my parents. My stepmom called this morning about the jury duty and was told she still needed to show up on the 17th and tell them about the vacation and they would dismiss her. Since it is the Federal court system, they would not let her out of it till the day she is summoned.

I am still dissapointed, but glad they will still be able to go. Now to find someone to purchase those extra tickets. If I can't find anyone, I might just give them away the day of the party.

Shannon.. have you tried calling Disney and explaining your dilemma? You might get lucky and get a refund on those tickets.:wizard:

Our trip is one week from today.Today my father in law's doctors said they cannot treat his cancer after all. Chemo and surgery will not be effective. Now that they have the biopsy results, they feel he has between three weeks and two months. We live in Virginia and my FIL lives in upstate New York. DH is there visiting him now. They said their goodbyes today. DH can't bear to stay there until the end and his father does not want that either. So as of right now, unless something huge happens between now and Thursday night, DH still wants us to take our trip. If we have to come home early then we will but if not, we will go back up and see his father as soon as we get home from the World. This will be a very bittersweet vacation. But I think it will be good for us. I don't think it would be healthy to sit at home waiting by the phone for the dreaded phone call.

So with as much excitement as I can muster up under the circumstances . . . 7 days!:yay:

I agree. It can't hurt to ask. Last year DH booked Dive Quest which was supposed to be nonrefundable. He ended up with bad stomach problems (I think he drank too much of Florida tap water!!!) and could not dive. I called and they were so understanding and gave a full refund. Then he ended up feeling better two days later and was able to rebook and do the dive after all.

I hope you have a good time and believe your FIL would want you to have fun in Disney rather than grieve. :hug:

I have officially begun packing! :cool1:

I have had a Disney box going for a while, but it was just a place to throw things as I got them. I now have 4 suitcases laid out and there are things in them!:lmao:

DH thinks I may have lost my mind.:eek: I have a list of what is in each suitcase - is that a bit much?:rolleyes1:lmao: Seriously, when I start packing early, I forget what I have and where it is! I have to have some method of keeping myself organized, so - list.:rolleyes: I am, also, making sure that there is at least one outfit for each person in each suitcase - just in case one or more is lost by the airline.

I went over the plan with the family tonight - I have the park days laid out for the most part, but there is plenty of wiggle room toward the end of the week for changing things up.:thumbsup2

So excited!:banana::banana::banana:

Posting on both Oct. threads

Me too! :lmao:

I've been anxious to start for a while, but two weeks out was the compromise with DBF. He found it too insane to have open suitcases in the guest room any longer :confused: So, I got up at 6 this morning and laid them out and when he came to look an hour later, both bags were nearly packed - the lists were ready so an hour was all it took :thumbsup2:rotfl2:
