2 weeks to go. I guess I better start on my list on items to take on the trip!

And Happy 40th Birthday Walt Disney World!

Hi guys! 2 weeks from today we will be in our Happy Place!
I have that skeleton Mickey shirt too. We decided not to do MNSSHP tough.

Our trip is one week from today.Today my father in law's doctors said they cannot treat his cancer after all. Chemo and surgery will not be effective. Now that they have the biopsy results, they feel he has between three weeks and two months. We live in Virginia and my FIL lives in upstate New York. DH is there visiting him now. They said their goodbyes today. DH can't bear to stay there until the end and his father does not want that either. So as of right now, unless something huge happens between now and Thursday night, DH still wants us to take our trip. If we have to come home early then we will but if not, we will go back up and see his father as soon as we get home from the World. This will be a very bittersweet vacation. But I think it will be good for us. I don't think it would be healthy to sit at home waiting by the phone for the dreaded phone call.

So with as much excitement as I can muster up under the circumstances . . . 7 days!

Daizieduck.. So sorry to hear about your FIL. I will keep you all in my prayers. Hopefully you all can enjoy your trip and find things that will spark happy memories for future trips!

We leave for Disney in 3 weeks! DH's mother and brother should arrive around noon and we will head out! We have so much to do. I always think, I am going to have everything done so the last week or so I can just chill... but this thing called DISboards keeps sucking up my extra time! Today we are helping our best friends move. Then tomorrow I have an event for work. I told DH from here until we are ready to go, I will surely need to do something every night. I keep telling myself the main thing is the Tshirts... then the packing. Everything else really would not matter in the end!

Daizieduck, I'm so sorry. I hope you can still manage to enjoy your trip.

IM$KYCats, I have a laundry basket I use. I keep piling things in there. I have three seperate lists too and what needs to go in each suitcase. I don't think it's crazy. It's careful planning

Update on my parents. My stepmom called this morning about the jury duty and was told she still needed to show up on the 17th and tell them about the vacation and they would dismiss her. Since it is the Federal court system, they would not let her out of it till the day she is summoned.

I am still dissapointed, but glad they will still be able to go. Now to find someone to purchase those extra tickets. If I can't find anyone, I might just give them away the day of the party.

Of all times to be picked, it's a shame her name came up now. I'm sorry it's not working out.

So sorry to hear chemo isn't an option. I hope you have an amazing Disney trip! I know for us, Disney has been a wonderful escape from reality. Sometimes we need those escapes to face what's ahead.

Shannon- that stinks about your SM. I still don't understand how a paid vaca is not excused. What if she was in Italy? They'd have to hunt me down! but I'm glad you'll still get to see them.

Daisyduck- I'm so sorry for the news. I am glad you have some time for goodbyes and something to keep you occupied, as you said.

Im4kycats- I'm totally pre-packing this weekend!! And I already have a list of what is being packed. I've had that for months!!

I love the laundry basket idea! I usually end up taking up a couch or somewhere else in the way. The basket would work great!

Three weeks from this very moment we will be in the air - on our way to Disney!

Yesterday I was able to pack my suitcase but I may have to wait a bit for the boys. They are forecasting the temps to go back up into the 70's next week here in SE WI so they will still need their summer clothes. C'mon mother nature, make up your mind! Don't ya know I need to get packing?

I have officially begun packing!

I have had a Disney box going for a while, but it was just a place to throw things as I got them. I now have 4 suitcases laid out and there are things in them!

DH thinks I may have lost my mind. I have a list of what is in each suitcase - is that a bit much? Seriously, when I start packing early, I forget what I have and where it is! I have to have some method of keeping myself organized, so - list. I am, also, making sure that there is at least one outfit for each person in each suitcase - just in case one or more is lost by the airline.

I went over the plan with the family tonight - I have the park days laid out for the most part, but there is plenty of wiggle room toward the end of the week for changing things up.

So excited!

I have the suitcases, (borrowed them from my mom about a month ago) but I'm going to have to wait till the last 2 days to pack because we are suppriseing my son and I don't want him to get suspicious. I can't believe we have 2 weeks left!!!!

Had to stop by quick this morning to say Happy October Everybody!!

We parked the car downtown at 8:15 this morning for some tailgating later today. It is SUPER crazy! I can't wait til later, we are heading out in a little over an hour to catch the bus back down there. There were hardly any good spots left even!

Daizieduck--i am so sorry to read this. I think you're right, it would be so hard to be home waiting for the phone to ring. Sending good thoughts to you and your family.


We have 3 weeks to go, and trying to talk about what we have left to do while hiding it all from our daughter is starting to get tricky! I have so much organizing to do, and this weekend is crazy. Hopefully i can still get some stuff done.

Yes, I noticed that. I'm not planning on going to MNSSHP this year. I'm focusing on Epcot Food & Wine Festival this year. However I do plan on spending some time at Doubloon Lagoon and Old Man Island (POR). There are actually seven of us disboarders who will be at POFQ around the same time -

Hoping to have some pool time every day we're there, sometimes at night after we get back from the parks, especially the hot tub for my tired self. DH and I aren't going to the party, DD and her family are going on the 20th so DH and I are looking forward to some time alone that night. I'll have my LGMH attached to my bag, so if you see me, and you want to, say hi.
