Daizieduck - I am so sorry to hear abotu your FIL. I will keep your family in my prayers. I lost my MIL two years ago to cancer and she was only 61.

I too am so sorry to hear about your FIL :( I've lost many of family members to this disease its just terrible to watch loved ones suffer, thoughts and prayers to you and yours !

Jese I am following you :)

Someone just gave SUCH a negative review on the resort I'm going to, I understand the negative things are something you should read, but really some people are so hard to please I find, and find nothing positive period. Its Disney I'm going to be just happy to be there, no matter what !

One of my friends stayed at Cornado Last year and loved it! She said her kids really loved the pool. Her pics from there looked beautiful! You will have a great time!

That's ok, I'm sure we can get along over our love of Disney and put sports politics behind us :rotfl:
Absolutely!

We are on the road to Disney, should be there in about an hour!!
How cool is that!

I know what you mean....you definitely have to take ALL reviews "with a grain of salt". I like to read the good and the bad - and then take what's important to ME to make my own judgment.::yes::

That's why this time we vowed we will be looking at this trip through our DD's eyes. If she wants to play in a play area for an hour or in a water fountain, so be it! The value comes in her joy and my happiness comes from seeing that. I know I'm going to have to remind myself of it while we're there, though, because there are so many things I want her to see and I know she's not going to care about half of them!!
I am CONSTANTLY trying to remind my DH of this. Instead of always rushing, rushing, rushing to the next attraction - we need to "STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES" in order to appreciate all the amazing details that make Disney so MAGICAL!:wizard:

Wow we have alot of WI people on this thread.

So all my fellow Wisconsinites, GO PACK GO!

We sure are in a "winning" state these days!
Packers and Brewers and Badgers - Oh My!:woohoo:

Daizieduck- I'm so sorry to hear about your FIL. You'll be in my thoughts.

Yay for everyone leaving or already there! :cool1: Can't wait to see everyone's photos and read the updates. :goodvibes

Although I'm not from WI, I'm a Packers fan. :dance3: Grew up in Indiana but my family was all Packers fans. I've lived in Arizona for 15 years but cannot in good conscience support the Cardinals. :rotfl:For that matter, I don't know a single Arizonan that likes the Cardinals. Wugh, AZ has a pro football team? Who knew? (I am embarrassed to admit this, but DH is a Raiders fan. *shudder* He's also a Yankees fan, so clearly he lacks good sports team tastes. :rotfl:)

We are Vikings fans -season ticket holders even. Anyone feel sorry for me? :rotfl2:

Anyway, we leave tomorrow!!! So excited it is finally here - so much I never got around to doing. I think I'll be writing out my index cards on the plane. :lmao:

I just got off the phone with my step mom. She was crying, I felt so bad and was worried something was wrong medically. She then proceeds to tell me she got a jury duty summons for Oct 17th! She said that her and my dad can't come to WDW with us on the 14th, but she was going to do her best to get out of jury duty on the 17th and come down that evening. I told her that was ok and we would work it out, I was just glad nobody was sick or injured. Now to my only problem - I purchased MNSSHP tickets for her and my dad for the 16th. They are nonrefundable, so I am selling my parents tickets for the price I paid, for the Oct 16th party. If you are interested please PM me. I have to pick them up at will call because I got the AP price so someone could meet me at the will call and we could do the exchange then.

Oh, that's rotten luck! Is there no way for her to call ahead? I would imagine a pre-paid trip might get her excused. I've never been called to jury duty, so I'm not sure how all that works.:confused3

:grouphug: for your DM!

I've gotten out of jury duty twice - once because I was in my third trimester and not sure what might happen (first time pregnancy so I was worried about everything!) and another time because I would be out of town. They had absolutely no problem with taking me off their list both times. Did she try to talk to someone about her situation? As long as you are honest and explain the issue at hand, they are usually very cool about it :thumbsup2

Yeah, your team sucks ;) I personally think Favre brought you guys bad karma!

And have fun on your trip!

Update: We found out this evening that the doctors feel that without treatment, my FIL has about two weeks or so. With chemo, he may have three months. He is going for the chemo. Might have more definititive timelines when his biopsy results come back on Thursday.

I'm sorry for what your family is going through right now.

(I am embarrassed to admit this, but DH is a Raiders fan. *shudder*

NEVER be embarrassed of to be a Raiders fan!! :cheer2::cheer2: LOL They can suck at times but I own them as my team!! Thank goodness they won last week!! :woohoo:

This! :thumbsup2 A pre-paid vacation is an excuse for getting out of jury duty. They have so many other people to choose from, your step mom doesn't have to be one of them. She just needs to call and tell them about her vacation and they will excuse her.

And I also got out of my one and only time for being called for jury duty because I was pregnant, but I was late 2nd trimester. Sorry, but sitting all day in a courtroom and possibly for longer than that while I was sick as a dog is NOT my idea of a good time! Got out no problem. They understand these things. Now if you say you can't make it because you have to go to the mall, that's another thing. :rotfl:

My DH just received a Jury Summons too - he was scheduled to report the week we will be in Disney! Luckily in our jurisdiction, you are allowed ONE postponement, no questions asked. Whewwww!:scared1:

Just found this cute glow in the dark Mickey skeleton shirt. Got one for myself and my 2 bestfriends for our trip. :cool1: I also got a mini witch hat that is on a headband. Dressing up at disney always seems much more fun.

Susan I read that review too. I don't doubt she wasn't happy but it didn't particularly sound like there was anything wrong with the resort. I would be more worried if she was worried about dirty rooms, unruly guests, theft, etc. not really concerned about this things she mentioned. Plus as LMC said, your vacation is what you make of it so.... I'm sure you'll have a great time. Plus if you noticed someone else posted a stellar review right under that :).

Shannon, I too think your SM can get out of Jury duty because of the trip. She should just call ahead of time.

I keep hearing about the crowd levels in the parks for Sept. and I'm getting nervous. They said MNSSHP for 9/30 is sold out. I'm scared to see what it will be like closer to halloween:scared1:

Susan and Kepe, I read that post today too. That was one negative out of how many positives? I think the only negative I would have would be that no man's land that Aubriee talked about! I hope you enjoy CSR as much as we have this year!! Granted we've only done weekend trips, but we have thoroughly enjoyed them. 2 more weeks from tomorrow and my family is back there again!! We can't wait!!!!

I always read reviews with a grain of salt. Everyone's expectations are different. As for CSR, I have never been to the resort, but a good friend of mine and his DW go to WDW at least once a year. They really like CSR and have gone back to CSR mulitple times. I would not think twice about staying at CSR, just based on my friend's comments.

KEPE, I agree with your statement about your vacation is what you make of it. Wherever we go, we always go with this attitude, and never let the little things bother us.

Lovethattink, I agree. There are many more positives. Plus as I mentioned, her reasons for a negative review didn't seem like anything that would annoy me :)

Habsfan, I'm excited to stay and will be happy to just be in disney. Honestly, I think the only thing that could really ruin it for me would be terrible weather or really super crowds. I hate when places are like wall to wall (a 9 or 10) type of crowd that is why I picked Oct. however from many reports it appears to be somewhat more crowded then expected but still not capacity crowds so I think I'll be ok.
