I think I would just tell DD up front that it's nice they are going at the same time but you were planning on separate time. I couldn't shop with somebody like that without saying something. No way could I hang out for hours while they shopped and I stood around doing nothing. I'm going to make a horrible MIL some day. :rotfl:

I'm trying really hard to be a good MIL especially with my brand new SIL. I was at DD's last night and we agreed that we all don't have to stick together every waking moment like a clump of moss. They can do their thing and we'll do ours, then we'll get together some of the time. I don't want to be spending the entire trip grinding my teeth and biting my tongue. :rotfl:

Wow ... I guess I didn't realize how lucky i was being married to a CM. My husband works for ESPN so i'll always have a discount. Although i'll never be able to add dining onto my ressie :sad2: I hope somthing comes out for all of you soon! Esp since all of us have our ADR's complete we don't have to worry about loads of people coming and making that process difficult.

The last time we went to WDW we traveled with my DS and Ddil who also works for ESPN and between the 50% off room rate and free park entry and discounts on food and souvies I bet it cost us 1/10th of what DH and my trip this Oct is costing.
Are you sure about the DP? I am almost positive my Ddil mentioned some kind of discount for the DP of course that was in 2009 and things could have changed since then.

I tried to get online to wish those that were in the line of storms well and to be safe last night. Guess what? As soon as I walked into my house last night from my computer class at work, the tornado sirens went off. I wake up everyone and we hide in our small hallway. Our home has windows in every room and is an open floorplan, no basement, so we have our little hallway, which isn't much of one.

See how tiny. DH and I just sat on the outside with our pillows and blankets ready to jump on top of the kids to keep them safe in case a tornado hit. BTW, I tried to fix Luke's red eye, but could not. Sorry the pic is so bad, I took it with my phone.

The "I am thanking God" moment was I was suppose to stay at the hospital till midnight for the class and for some reason we all decided to leave and hour early. As we were watching the news last night during the tornado warning, a tornado touched down on the road I take to get home! I was so thanking God at that moment. The last tornado that hit our house was the one that took out the Atlanta Motor Speedway a few years ago. And again, we were saved.

I am sending out prayers for those that were in last night's storm path and I hope you all are safe and sound.

I am glad to hear you and your family are safe. I dread the threat of Tornados, the weatherman on tv here was just talking about upper atmospheric disturbances, severe thunderstorm watch until 4pm :scared1:

We have windows all around too and I take the dog and head to a little hallway here too. I wish we had sirens to alert when there is a threat, we just have to depend on the radio or tv.

Be Safe!

Is anyone planning on going on the Pirate and Pals Firework Cruise? I have been trying to book this for a few weeks and am getting conflicting information due to MNSSHP dates? Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem?
yep, I am the other one Rorey was speaking of. I booked it for 10/17 (monday) already and they already charged my credit card too. However, the date I really wanted was the same as Rorey- 10/21 (Friday- MNSSHP night). my CM just said that it wasn't available that night, so i took MOnday instead. It didn't dawn on me that it was a MNSSHP night and that's why it wasn't 'available' yet. DUH!! My CM didn't mention that either, maybe they were just as mornoic as me that day. lol My CM made it sound like it just wasn't available that night. But i plan to call back and try and get the 21st like Rorey once MNSSHP dates are out (hopefully next week). So you can book now, just not for MNSSHP nights. Hopefully next week you can book it for MNSSHP nights.

oh no- so glad you are all okay. We've been hit really bad in the Dallas area by the storms and tornadoes recently too. It's been like a solid two week of crazy weather here. I am glad the sun is finally shining again and no sirens going off!

I like how your dog's eyes came out in the picture. It makes him look like a crazy futuristic cyborg dog, like he was sent from the future to protect your family.

Glad you made it home safe. :thumbsup2

Well that is good news, so glad they were on board with some 'apart' time!;)

Wow, that's a heck of a deal! My DH works with a guy who's brother works for Disney (phew!) and they don't get the dining. After the 50% off room and tickets, though, it's still much cheaper than what I pay!!!

On a side note related to the guy DH works with, both he and another guy DH works with will be down the same time we are. How fun is that!? Luckily they all get along!

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

I had to do it on my October 2011 thread! Yay me!!!

:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

Has anyone talked to KayMouse? She lives near me and the tornado was heading towards her area last night. Please say a prayer that she is ok.

Thank you! Thank you all! :goodvibes

OK, back to business. I just got an email through my Chase Visa for free dining through 9/24. Says the offer is good if booked by 8/27 (DD's bday, coincidentally!) so I figure October discounts won't be coming out until mid- to late-summer at this point. But the good news is the discounts are coming! :thumbsup2

(Michael they're coming!!!!!!!!) Sorry, my constant need to quote movies got the best of me there. ;)

Yeah i think it has...trust me we asked. They said unless we were a florida site cast member we couldn't get the dining plan....something could have changed since then. I was sad but thats ok. This perk is exactly why i have become a Disney freak!! I want to take adv of a great discount while I have the opportunity. I would go multiple times a year if i could afford it!

Perhaps she was wrong, but I know she brought it up but we all decided to just pay OOP and take whatever discounts on meals some places was only 10% most were 20% but one was 50% which shocked all of us

My DS :littleangel: passed away and they had no children so I doubt we will be going to WDW with my Ddil again. :sad2: She went last year with her family to a Grand Gathering but they stayed offsite where they rented a 4 bdrm place for like $1000 for the week

Got a few more ADR's. We had planned on using QSDP this trip with a Crystal Palace OOP breakfast, but switched to DDP instead.

Sunday, Oct. 16:
Boatwrights at POR 7:30 p.m.
I haven't seen many really good reviews of Boatwrights but we gave it a try last year and were pleasantly surprised. This is our arrival day and since we're going to be tired after our trip and the afternoon at AK, we can just walk up the river path from POFQ for dinner.

Monday, Oct. 17:
Crystal Palace 8:05 a.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 18:
La Hacienda 8 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 19:
Sci-Fi 1:10 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 20:
Coral Reef 11:55 a.m.

Today I got the Disney Visa cardholders free dining offer, good from Aug. 28 - Sept. 24. Over the past couple of months I've received email PIN codes (7 of them!) for FD good until Aug. 13, QSDP for the mods and values, DDP for deluxe. So I was just a little surprised to see DDP offered for mods in this new FD offer, I thought they were going to switch to QSDP this year. Keeping my fingers crossed that FD or a good room discount will be coming up for the rest of 2011.

Looks like a good plan to add the DDP and if you are lucky maybe the FD will get extended into Oct.

I had the urge today to change a couple of my ADRs even made one for Saana(which I already cancelled) but as I looked over my previous plans I decided if I started to moving things around I would end up losing the free nights I built into plans for going to Fantasmic if they add a 2nd show and going to MNSSHP - I just am not sure if we will be up to going or not plus in case the weather is not good and buying my tickets for MVMCP early last year then when we had to cancel the vacation and the no refund policy makes me leary of buying tix before I get to Diseny even though I will save a little $.

I know that I'll be switching back and forth just like always. I love all the planning but sometimes it makes me bonkers. I couldn't get Le Cellier for lunch so settled on Coral Reef instead, which DGD absolutely loved 3 years ago, but I'm going to keep trying for Le Cel. La Hacienda....I'm still this way and that way about it so that could change. I finally ended up booking it for last November but we all were too tired the night of our ADR and ended up canceling and eating at Boatwright's instead. I just want to go NOW! ;) When my DD called to ask when tix for MNSSHP go on sale, the CM told her June, I'm pretty sure that was wrong. Isn't it in early May?

In my next life I want to come back as someone without the planning gene and have somebody else do all this stuff.

I checked and I bought the tix for MVMCP on 4/30 last year so I am guessing the tix for the Halloween Party must have gone on sale same time?

So I would say they should go on sale anytime now, maybe even tomorrow?

That would be awesome!

Great! I'll keep checking. Thanks. :)
