Does Touring Plans actually have a way to enter your dates and then get a print out based on that or do you just print out the page for each day you are going? I'm so confused! :confused3

Parla - yes, and yes. Plus you can do a customized version of your plan too and you can also get their app and take it with you!!:thumbsup2

Yes! I am so bummed about the lack of Sat evening EMH at MK. I was so looking forward to MK at 3am!

ALERT! - This just in! - TouringPlans has just updated October!!! Time to PLAN (again)!:yay:

Yes, I rec'd the email earlier about the TP changes for my dates now I have to update my spread sheet and just when I was almost completely done with it :rotfl:

I hope the changes are not too off from what I anticipated when making my park schedule since I really do not want to start shifting park days and ADR's around

Travel agent just called to say Air Tran just released their flights. Cheaper than Southwest and worried about gas prices so I bit the bullet and booked 'em. Got our seats picked out and everything. Nice to not have to worry about it anyway. :goodvibes

Hi Everyone,
What is TouringPlans and their October schedule? Is it different from the TravelAgent schedule? How does it help with planning?

Thank you!!!!

Thanks to everyone for their help with my transportation question. Great, helpful tips!!

We are coming too...celebrating my DD's 7th birthday. Dates are October 14th through October 20th at Fort Wilderness Cabins. We leave on the 20th for a 3-day cruise on the Dream. There will be 6 of us, DH, inlaws, DS, DD and myself! October can't get here soon enough!:cutie:

Sorcery in the Sky?? I think that's what it was called. I never saw that show for some reason and I've only seen F! once, in 2006. Don't spend too much time in MGM, I guess! Especially at night.

That's it, Sorcery in the Sky! I think there is/was a Fantasy in the Sky somewhere too, maybe Disneyland? Or maybe I made that up? I LOVE MGM at night! :lovestruc I loved Sorcery in the Sky, the music was amazing, it was music from all these classic movies and ends with the music from Fantasia!

It seems Disney almost always adds a second F! show and if they keep the pm EMH for DHS on Fantasmic night , I would say it is a given this year that there will be a 2nd F! show added.

What I really found strange was no EMH for MK on Sat night for my dates, that has almost always been something you could count on.

I have a feeling there might be a few changes in regards to hours this year

I suppose if they add a 2nd F! show on the EMH night, I might be tempted to see it again, if the line isn't too bad...we'll see!

I think the EMH nights are strange for most of October. I think the week I'm going, MK has an EMH night on Monday...that's so weird! And it's only open til 10 on October 1st, which is the 40th anniversary, aren't they assuming a lot of people will be going? :confused3 I also don't get why Epcot isn't open til 10 on the first Friday and Saturday of the F&W festival.

Wow, MK at 3am sounds awesome! I think the latest I've been there was 12? I always go during "off peak" times, so it's never open that late. I was just telling my friend today that I have to go during a really busy time so I can be at the parks at 3 am!

I'm happy TP finally updated, I got an email alert today, and a lot of the crowd prediction numbers have actually gone down for my week, yay!

Yes - it's called Crowd Tracker.
Go to Crowd Calendar, then click on Crowd Tracker.
Enter the dates of your trip and you will receive email updates any time the Crowd Levels or Park Recommendations change.
In addition, every time you log-in to TouringPlans and come back to the Crowd Tracker, your dates automatically come up.:thumbsup2

Add me to the excitement - I am going from Oct 23-29 staying at the Wilderness Villas. My first trip to the World - can't wait! We just booked airfare yesterday, so it's a done deal.

Wahoo!

Fantasy in the Sky was the MK fireworks before Wishes. :thumbsup2

Count us in as October 2011 WDW visitors!!! We actually arrive on Sept. 28, but since we are staying until October 10 the majority of our trip is in October.
We are hoping to attend MNSSHP for the first time while we are there. Do the tickets for early October sell out fast?

I'll admit, I'm a little disappointed with the October park hours so far - especially in comparison to last year's hours and schedule.:sad2:

So I did some digging and I found this thread from September 2010:
[thread]2560131[/thread]
It looks like near the end of Sept they extended Park Hours at MK and DHS and added additional showings of F! and MSEP. Who knows, maybe there is still hope for us yet?:worship:
yeah, i am hoping they will extend some hours- especially for DHS, it closes at 7pm on non-F! nights. I am hoping they at least extend until 8pm. We will see.

This is why I rent a car! :) I can't stand the thought of wasting time (just my opinion) going from one stop to another and then another to reach my final destination. We park hop so, to me, Disney transportation is just not an option. Plus, I have severe back issues since my car accident and I don't want to take the change I will have to stand (while holding my toddler).

On another note....our family has never seen F!. It's not that we don't want to, it's just that I would much rather be doing something, even swimming in the pool or playing a board game with my family, than waiting in line to get into a show. We want to see it, but if they don't add a second show one of the nights we will be there, I don't see it happening (especially with a squirming two year old).
We just prefer renting a car too. It might not actually save us time in the long run once we park, walk (or tram it) to the gate, but we like being in control at least- and not having to wait around for a bus.

Travel agent just called to say Air Tran just released their flights. Cheaper than Southwest and worried about gas prices so I bit the bullet and booked 'em. Got our seats picked out and everything. Nice to not have to worry about it anyway. :goodvibes
yeah- so glad you got a good deal. we are still holding out.

Hi Everyone,

Thank you!!!!
Touringplans is a paid subscription you can get which will tell you ratings for crowds on any given day based on a variety of factors. It will tell you the 'best/worst' park each day and also has plans you can use to actually plan out your day (ride to ride etc.) to maximize your time. You can see the plans or ratings until you subscribe (pay). Some find it helpful, others don't. It's not too expensive, so might be worth checking out. Now that hours were released (and EMHs), they have adjusted their ratings for the crowds (since part of the formula is based on EMH).

It looks like there are more people jumping on the October train more and more everyday! Woooohooo! :banana:I just need to make it clear that everyone better back off my ADR's....HAHAHA:rotfl2:

That's why I'm thinking of not posting my plan until after I've made my ADR's. There's some sneaky lurkers around here. :rotfl:

Awww C'mon guys.....DO TELL!!
You don't have to be specific in regards to dates and times.

I'm hoping to score the following ADRs for Table Service, in no particular order:
Kona Cafe (Macadamia Nut Pancakes & French Press coffee - YUM!)
Sci-Fi Dine In (1st time - for burgers & shakes)
Yak & Yeti (1st time we haven't done FlameTree BBQ)
Tonys Town Square (DS10 LOVES spaghetti!!!)
LeCellier (DH & I have been before - 1st time for my boys)
The Plaza (Great sandwiches and shakes)

And here are a few probable Quick Services:
Caseys (3 boys = Corn Dog Nuggets!!)
Contempo Cafe (convenient to BLT)
Beaches & Cream (for Kitchen Sink)
Wolfgang Puck Express (1st time - highly recommended)
Main Street Bakery (awesome for a quick breakfast)

Thanks for sharing! Your choices sound great! There are so many restaurants I want to try but there is NO way to fit it into one trip! I guess we will have to go back again! :rolleyes1

I actually will share my ADR's, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. :rotfl: You'll have to check out my PTR for all the details. That's probably one of my next updates. ;)

Here's a few of the TS we are considering:
Chef Mickey's
Akershus Princess Storybook Dining
Crystal Palace
Tusker House (Donald's Safari Breakfast)
Teppan Edo
O'hana
Hollywood & Vine or Mama Melrose
T-Rex

Some CS I want to try:
Columbia Harbour House
Wolfgang Puck Express
Earl of Sandwich
Flame Tree BBQ

I need to do some more "research" on the CS restaurants. I thought I might leave those to chance and just see what we are in the mood for at that moment!

:rotfl:Well, I do have a list going on my PTR but will be changing a few things when we sit down as a family and talk about it this week. Spring Break and no place to go. DD keeps saying she wishes we were going this week. My problem is there are just so many places in Epcot that we want to eat. I can't narrow it down. Throw in Food & Wine and I'm glad for all the walking to work some of it off.

This is our problem as well. Hubby and I sat down last night and worked out most of it. We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Food & Wine Festival and I love to try all that new food! But....if it's free dining, we need to eat somewhere. From our current plans, it looks like we're gonna nix Coral Reef and opt for the Drive-In at DHS when we're over there (we get up early, so we tend to eat early lunches compared to most people). However, we've got Restaurant Marrakesh, Tutto Italia and the San Angel Inn on our list of places to eat at.

I promise to post more about our ADRs in a bit (I'm actually trying to work too. lol).

With Airtran releasing their flights for October, dh told me with the times that they have now for there flights I should book one more day. So it looks like we might be going on the 20th instead of the 21st now. Not sure I am on the boat with that knowing how Airtran keeps changing flight times.

As for ADRs we are looking at:
Ohana's (Love, love love it there)
Yacht Club (first time)
Akershus Princess Storybook(Breakfast)
Chefs de France
Tonys
Whispering Canyons (one of my family favorites)
Lilo & Stitch (breakfast)
1900
Crystal Palace

On the fence for Mmam Melrose or Hollywood and Vine for the package
