I need to take us off the list for October! We got a great deal and are doing a DCL cruise onthe Wonder instead and 2 nights at DLR! I will still lurk here, and I hope everyone has a great time! Rumor has it FD is getting extended on Wednesday!!

Really? If that's true what will that mean for the trip I booked last week? I'm 69 days out. Will they let me change it and take advantage of free dining or will I be out of luck and have to pay for what I already booked?

Daizieduck, if they have available rooms in your hotel for the discount you can apply it. Otherwise you may need to change room catergories or maybe hotels to get it but you can change your existing resevation to take advantage of it. Go over to the discount codes board there are numerous threads about the FD rrumor.

Thanks, do you know if they will charge me a penalty to change my reservation? For instance, I did purchase the insurance. Do you think I would lose that? I'll check out the discount codes board if I can figure out how to get there. I have not quite mastered this site even after almost two years. :sad2:

KEPE, thanks for pointing me to the discount codes board. Sadly, the FD will not fall on the dates we have chosen for our trip. If we hadn't booked our flights already I might consider changing our trip dates but the airline change fees would eat up the money we'd save getting FD. Probably not worth the hassle. Thanks for your help though! :thumbsup2

WAIT, I take that back! Just realized we check in on the 7th of October so we CAN take advantage. :)

Daizieduck, I see you found the other thread, I answered you on there too. You can apply your insurance to the new reservation, I called and asked yesterday. you would only lose it if you cancel entirely. What is your date of arrival? The 7th? I think it was covered but I'll need to look at the dates again, I was focused only on my dates:rotfl:

OK - this may be old news for those of you have been on the boards for a while, but my TA just posted a link to the this video and there is a DIS Board 'shout out' in it! Anyone know who this is?

Even without the DIS shout out - it is a very cool video! ;)

There is thread on here somewhere about them. It's a really cool video though. I wish we could have danced with them. We were just there in June too.

Thanks, I saw your reply on the other thread too. Yeap, the 7th.

Not sure if this has been asked, but how important is it to get to DHS for rope drop if we want to make sure we ride Toy Store Mania and have the kids take part in the Jedi training. We are going on a EMH night the park is open until 11:00 but it is also a fanstamic night.

My main reason for asking is after reading many review for Hollywood and Vine I am second guessing having breakfast there. Would appriciate reviews and thoughts.

Rope drop is really needed to be able to ensure you can ride Toy story. Here is what we did though. Park opened at 9 so I made a 9 or 9:15 ADR at HV for the four of us. We got there like 15 minutes before opening and went into the park. My husband took our tickets and walked through the masses of people over to TSM at 9 and got us fast passes and I checked into breakfast with the kids. They seated us and about 5 minutes later my husband came in with the fast passes and we ate. Our fastpass return time wasn't till 11:30 and he got to the machines pretty quickly on a not busy day.

Tambam, really? If you don't get a fastpass you can't get on or you'll wait a long time on line? I'm getting a little dissappointed :(. I picked Oct. because I read that it wasn't that busy. I joined touring plans and even the busiest parks on EMH days are at most a 5. I just assumed this would be fine and I'd be able to get on everything I wanted. I keep hearing about parks being packed and restaurants being packed with long wait times because of FD. I thought I picked a good time of year to go. Sounds like there is no good time of year to go.

I don't plan on making any RD's. I thought I would be abel to leasurely go to the parks when we woke up and got ready and would still get everything in. I guess I need to rethink my strategy:confused3

Don't get me wrong you can ride it without getting there for rope drop but on most days touring plans showed all fastpasses were gone for the day by 10 or 11am. You can wait in line and ride...crowds in Oct are lighter but it will be a significant wait. This is the only park and ride for that matter that i think you should be at rope drop for. Although don't rearrange all your plans for just my opinion. Some people might think differently or may have tips for people that don't want to get up early. I have really little ones so it's never been hard for us to get up and make it to rope drop. We are up anyway!

Thanks Tambam, I was hoping to do Toy Story and I too have a little one so standing on line for 60 mins probably won't go over well. I am not planning on any RD's because I want to just take her lead and go when she gets up and not rush. I have one afternoon planned for DHS (probably won't get there until afternoon) and that is F! day so I'm guessing most of the more popular things will be out of the question for that day. We have another half day planned for DHS and that is in the am so I will just make every effort to get there early, even if we don't do a RD we'll aim for before 10. As of now there is no F! that day but I've heard sometimes they add them as the date gets closer. I'll have to make a plan on touring plans and see what I can come up with. I think my first DHS day was the busiest day (accordin to Touring) of our entire trip.

Tambam, WOW, now I see what you mean about TS. I planned out my park days and my ADR's but I didn't have a "park plan" what to do and when. I just went to touring plans to check my other DHS day, it's only a 1.7 and STILL the TS wait is 37 mins at 10am when the park opens at 9:scared1: I guess we'lll make sure we make RD that day and head straight over. The only other one I am worried about and need to check is the safari in AK. we are only in AK for 1/2 day and I want to make we hit that.

Well at least I know what I can obsess about now :rotfl: I was worried that my ADR's are all set, then I focused on a discount, now they are saying FD will be offered during the week. I was worried all my planning would be over after this week. :lmao:

As I expected, our dates are blacked out for the extended FD. DH talked about changing to December when he could get off again so we could take advantage of the FD, but both have our hearts set on October. So, we'll take the 16% Room offer we already booked under and I bought our MNSSHP tickets for Oct 18th tonight! Now if the Halloween costume companies would hurry up and release DS's costume so I can purchase all of ours at the same time, we'll be set!

Only 77 more days (although we are talking about driving down a day early, which would make it 76 days!) :cool1:

We are mostly blacked out, too - Oct. 15 to 29. :sad2: Like I already posted in the FD thread, we can't even do a split stay from the 23rd when FD kicks in, since there's no picking up tickets 7 days early, so we'd have to actually buy those two extra two-day base tickets. That plus an upgrade from QSDP to DDP would cost us about as much as just purchasing the DDP for the same period :lmao:

For a moment I considered just buying those tickets and upgrading them on a future trip, but I'm not sure when we'll be back - probably not until we have kids, and chances are that those tickets will be long gone. I'm not good at keeping vouches etc. safe

78 Days !!! No FD for me but I am still excited!

75 Days!!!

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

No FD for me either, but I'm so excited I can't stand it. I've never had a discount, so while I am a little disappointed, I won't let it put a damper on my anticipation or trip.;)

FD is blacked out for my dates as well....Oct. 15-22. I kind of thought they would be since the one PIN I received in the mail had that week blacked out.

I planned this trip full well expecting to pay full price and a discount would be a bonus. Oh well...we'll still be there.

Out of curiosity...does anyone have tips for getting PINS? I am registered with my e-mail and home address on Disney's site. I have priced MULTIPLE vacations and saved them on Disney's site. I have ordered the Vacation Planning DVD...for the last 2 years. Any other suggestions? I have gotten ONE PIN in the mail in the last year and NEVER gotten an e-mail PIN! I was just wondering if anyone has done anything and had big success with getting multiple PINS?
