Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Sitting in a theater seat and the screen opens to some very strange music and a group of Englishman running in the high tide.... scene forever changed the running world... vangelis music pushing you to the 10k finish... along with Rockey and Christopher Cross anthems

Chariots of fire is a great Good Friday movie... Missionary service in China leads to Eric liddel death in Japanese war camp and Harold Abrams Battles Anti semitism...victorious music for liddel.... haunting music for Abrams

Holiday music- specifically, the songs that go with traditions. We just had our (belated) Passover Seder and it was so fun and special to sing the traditional songs I’ve been singing for decades.

Songs that get me moving- it really varies but some songs just really appeal to me some days help me pick up my pace.

Tv theme songs- I miss them. Fun fact, the song for Laverne & Shirley sometimes makes me tear up.

(Fri, 4/3) - 3 things you're grateful for related to music (can be songs, artists, actual movie scores... wherever your thoughts go on this one)
Well, considering it is also Good Friday, I'm going to have to go with 3 Good Friday/Easter songs...
1. In Christ Alone
2. Is He Worthy by Andrew Peterson
3. When I Survey the Wondrous Cross

And... so many others. I love the old hymns, but also appreciate a lot of the newer songs too.

Surrounded by your glory
What will my heart feel
Will I dance before you Jesus
I can only imagine

Even if I limit myself to movie soundtracks it is hard to focus on 3.
Jerry Goldsmith (Star Trek shows and movies, many Twilight Zones)
Elmer Bernstein (To Kill A Mockingbird, The Great Escape, The Magnificent Seven, just to name a few)
Bernard Hermann (Psycho, other Hitchcock movies and some Twilight Zone episodes)
Michael Giacchino (some Disney, my favorite being Up)
James Horner (sooo many, one of my favorites is Field of Dreams, I was so sad when he died)

One of the things I love about the music that is played at the Wilderness Lodge is how many movie soundtracks they play!

To kill a mocking bird made the countdown 99 of a 100 all time classical music 🎵 🎶 🎵 🎶 list of Arizona PBS classical music station

And horner makes me cry.... Hey Dad...wanna have a catch ??
