FD is blacked out for my dates as well....Oct. 15-22. I kind of thought they would be since the one PIN I received in the mail had that week blacked out.

I planned this trip full well expecting to pay full price and a discount would be a bonus. Oh well...we'll still be there.

Out of curiosity...does anyone have tips for getting PINS? I am registered with my e-mail and home address on Disney's site. I have priced MULTIPLE vacations and saved them on Disney's site. I have ordered the Vacation Planning DVD...for the last 2 years. Any other suggestions? I have gotten ONE PIN in the mail in the last year and NEVER gotten an e-mail PIN! I was just wondering if anyone has done anything and had big success with getting multiple PINS?

No luck here we have been going to Disney for the past 5 years sometimes twice a year and we have only recieved one pin in that time.

I like you sorta expected my dates to fall into a blackout period also, as I had seen numerous DISers report the dates for pins they were recieveing and that week was blacked out. The pin DH rec'd was an oddball since it stated it was good for 12/1 to 12/22 but when I called was told it was good from 10/18 to 10/22. I booked staddling two different weeks, Oct 19-25 so part of my trip fall in the blackout period.

As for getting pins, in 2010 I ordered the dvd and rec'd one via email, this year DH ordered dvd and got the game on via snail mail.

Since then all I have rec'd are the resort picks emails from Disney Destinations with no pin #

I have not stayed there but I just went over to their site this morning to see what it would cost me and two of my dates are not available according to the calendar that pops up Oct 19 & 20. I notice your at 78 days just like me.

I have to say I had two Hotels confused yesterday, years ago we stayed twice at the Travelodge which is now a Best Western located at Hotel plaza blvd and there is a Buena Vista Palace located in that group of Hotels I found out BVS is located about 2 miles south of there.

Too many hotels in Orlando can get confuseing.

I need to take us off the list for October! We got a great deal and are doing a DCL cruise onthe Wonder instead and 2 nights at DLR! I will still lurk here, and I hope everyone has a great time! Rumor has it FD is getting extended on Wednesday!!

Yeah, FD doesn't benefit us really much at all but we got a PIN not long after we booked and that's how we're doing this. I got lucky then so I haven't been waiting for any further discounts, otherwise this would've been a VERY expensive trip. This year has been tough with some unexpected bills that have come up, and without that discount we'd be robbing Peter, if you know what I mean. That sucks, though, that FD is blacked out for so many dates. Maybe some room discount PINS will start coming out??

I received a post card with a pin last spring. Guess they wanted me to come back since I was there in 2009 It was a room-only discount - 20-40% off depending on room type, I think. It's the only one I've ever received but I'm still hoping something will come along for this year Oh yeah, and I hadn't touched or even visited Disney's website for months when I received it; no pricing out vacations, saving offers, or ordering maps.

BTW, we're at 75 days and I just got the ADR for O'hana that I've been trying for several times a day for the last three weeks!!

We'll be there on the 25th. Got a 5.15pm which is slightly earlier than I had hoped for, but it'll have to do. We're going to Universal that day, but we'll have two-day tickets, so it'll be okay with a short day.

I'm really relieved to have secured that ADR. If Free Dining really does come out, it's probably going to be so much more difficult to get good October ADRs. Guess I'll have to stop rearranging mine

Ok, I booked 2 additional ADRs last night while keeping my originals. I haven't decided what to do yet. Since I'm now gluten free, I'm wavering on my Tony's ressie so that's what's up in the air. Here are the new ones:

Monday, 10/23 - 5:20 - Kona (this will replace Tony's probably)
Friday, 10/28 - 4:45 - Garden Grill (this may replace Kona, or if we love Kona we may do it twice)

I don't know, 4:45 is an early reservation for dinner but since I won't be able to do much F&W being gluten free now I figured I'll fill up at GG before heading out to meet some friends there. That way I can sample a few wines while they try out some foods and I won't be overly tempted. All depends on when DD gets up from nap that day. I'll probably cancel the Tony's ADR and keep the Friday Kona ressie, just in case. Then when we get closer I'll see how DD is napping and make the decision then.

We've never eaten at Garden Grill. Any thoughts??

We love GG. It is one of our favorite character meals. The food is just traditional turkey, beef, and fish, but it's good. We love the character interaction though. The characters always come around more than one time because the restaurant is not that big. It is one meal my kids request each time we go. We also love the bread and salad.
