OFFICIAL October 2009 thread - LET US KNOW YOUR PTR LINK!

I am starting to see a theme here....we are all starting to go into panic mode since October is coming quick. I suggest we start a daily goal. You don't have to do it, but it might help someone so I'll start.

Sunday's Goals:

1. Make a packing list or find one online.
It doesn't have to be 100% complete, but just do a ball park list, so you
what you might need. (are you going to want to take chapstick, baseball
hats, or flip flops? :confused3) Once you get it, cross off anything you
need and add anything extra you will take.

2. Make a list of things you need to go buy. This will set you up for a goal this week to start buying those items.

For me, I know I want to get some Halloween window clings from Walgreens. I bought new cushioned moisture wick socks last week, so I'm good there. I have my t-shirts to make this week. I need to find some small containers to hold some gel medicine in my backpack for when I am in the parks. I've considered just using old contact cases, since I have so many...have to think about it.

Anyone want to join me? :thumbsup2 I logged into the Disney site and they were nice enough to tell me they will see me in 24 days! :scared1: Like I really needed them to remind me!

Ok, Mom and I went out shopping today to pick some things up. I have one (sort-of) free weekend left, and then I'll be busy-busy until we leave!

We went to WalMart and picked up Moleskin, and a navy blue polo shirt to make my DS's policeman costume more appropriate for Florida (the costume he will wear here at home is long sleeved and 100% polyester!)
We went to Joann's Fabrics and I bought an American flag applique and a Cars' sheriff's car applique for DS's costume, and big white button's for DH's Mickey Mouse costume.
We went to Dick's Sporting Goods and bought Bodyglide and 4 ponchos (2 adults, 2 youth). Mom bought a small mister fan attached to a carabiner.

To do:
Order DS's at-home Halloween costume from the catalog so I can take pieces of it with us to WDW (i.e. hat, belt)
Find a badge for DS's costume (Dollar Tree, or a sticker from our local P.D.)
Have friend help me attach appliques
Find red shorts for DH for his costume

I signed up for an all-day crop on 10/10 (6 days before we leave). Oh what am I doing to myself? :sad2:

Picked up what I think is the last of what I need for DD costume. She is now going as an Egyptian this year. It's starting to look really good. Have to make some adjustments to my niece's pirate costume. I'm concerned that she will want to be an Egyptian when she sees DD in her costume (she is 4). She adores DD and wants to do everything with her. But DD is good with her and I'm sure will come up with a story about why she needs to stay a pirate. :)

I have the kids ponchos..but I need some adult ponchos. I have been to our family dollar and dollar general and there are an over abundance of Nascar ponchos out there! Anyone know where I can just get some plain ones?!?

I need to start packing, pre order my photopass cd, order groceries and do some homework and get it turned in before vacation so I don't have to stress about getting that done as well!

Hi! You should be able to get adult ponchos at WalMart, in the sporting goods dept, for under $1. I'm going to try to remember to look today, I still need to get one more. I know I will be scrambling at the last min. to get it all together. I love to plan, but when I get this close, I tend to slow way down, don't know why:confused3.
I'm stressing over all the things I have to get done at work. I have alot of changes going on, and I just started a new possition, and am busier than ever. I'm just trying to quit stressing about it all.

It was so cute...I was driving with my DD and my two grandkids (2 and 7)yesterday, and they were being crazy (imagine that!). My DGD2 has been saying "I can't wait to see "Mickey", "Jasmin", "Cinderella"" etc. So I told the kids that we would take turns saying "I can't wait to ......" when we go to WDW. The first few answers were expected...DGS-"see Power Rangers", DD "see Tinkerbell", DGD-"see Belle". But when my DGS7 then answered- "I can't wait to be able to relax on my vacation"!!! I'm like- "How old are you!"
It struck us as so funny, He has many favorites at WDW, I figured he'd be naming rides or something.:goodvibes

:yay: I'm going the same time you are. We are going from the 15th-24th and staying at POFQ too!! I hope you have a magical vacation!! :wizard:

Hi Jaydoe,

I can't wait. One month tomorrow! :yay: I have so much left to do! Perhaps we'll run into you guys. Sometimes it seems like it's a small world with all the Dis board people who seem to run into eachother and be in eachother's pictures!

To do:
Find a badge for DS's costume (Dollar Tree, or a sticker from our local P.D.)

My dh is a police officer and his department gives out plastic badges to the kids. If you want one, I can mail it to you. PM me your name and address. My ds (6) is going to be a police officer also. He will be a bike cop so he can wear shorts.

I am at work (well, at work checking the DIS!), and all I can think about it that I'm getting married in 2 1/2 weeks, and at this time, 3 weeks from today, I'll be eating lunch at the Sci-Fi Dine In! So excited!!:yay:

It's going to be great! :woohoo:

Wow! I leave you guys for a day and it sounds like you made some progress on getting things done! Way To Go!

Todays goals are:

1) get all of your notes in one place, whatever that may be. I am making a planner, so I've spent the morning typing the info into the forms. I have several pages with the calendar, hours, and my ADR.

2) Check your Airlines times. My flight coming home was moved back about 6 mins. It wouldn't make a big difference if I missed it the time change, but I know Air Tran moves flights from non-stop to 1 stop and sometimes the time changes.

Ok, that's it for today. :thumbsup2

I need ponchos also. Forgot about them....

I know!!! I can't believe we are 1 month from Walt Disney World. Like a lot of other people on the thread.....I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed. I'm not sure why. I really have gotten as much as possible done.......I only need to get a few little last minute things. I think when we get into October, I will really, really start to get excited!!!! :woohoo:

Well, my plan is to decorate my window at POFQ......I think I am going to put my disboard name on the window. If you see it, put a note on my door and let me know how your vacation is going!! :)

Alternative time units
32 days can be converted to one of these units:

Thank you! I will definately check WalMart. ;)

I have told my kids that if they didn't straighten up they weren't going to Disney...I told them I would cancel their names from the reservations..the other day my Emilie comes up to me and says "momma..can you please call Disney and make sure my name is still on the list!" :lmao:

Relaxing on vacation! That is unheard of!! Too funny!

So what clothes is going in your suitcases?
We are there from oct 7 -17th. I am leaving behind chilly (I live in Newfoundland Canada) to go back to warm (yah)...how warm though?
I've been reading it will prob be hot days (looks like 20-30 by weather stuff online) and then we'll need pants and prob long shirts for the evenings...
