OFFICIAL October 2009 thread - LET US KNOW YOUR PTR LINK!

Hi everyone,

I'm just finding this board and I thought I would post. My DH and I will be in Disney Oct. 15th-21st staying at POFQ. We're also meeting up with different family members traveling around the same time. Our last trip was in Aug 2007 and was only 3 nights. It went ok but it was HOT and we felt rushed! This time around we're looking foward to at least slightly cooler weather and having a longer trip to be able to enjoy the parks. I'm new to the boards but I'm considering doing a trip report when I get back....i guess it'll depend on my level of dedication to keeping notes :)

Not much longer now! I can't wait!

My DD - 10 and I will be there Oct 7-13 and we are staying at Pop. This is DD's first flight, and she is SO excited!:yay:

The kids are back at school. DH has a paying job now and is also gone, so I am free! :cool1: Unfortunately, the house is a disaster and I feel like I "should" be cleaning it vs planning for my trip with DD. The days are flying by and I'm not ready!

I have shirts to make. Too many decisions there....what style or DISigns should I use? Which shirts? Will they fit DD???

I can't decide if I should make an autograph book or not. We skipped it last year, but I really like the scrapbook pages with a picture and the signature.

How do I ensure the shorts I take will fit her? She is growing so much I am so worried she won't have shorts that will fit her in a month!

I'm just a mess now. I have to remember to just slow down and take a breath. (But I have less than a month! )

:yay: I'm going the same time you are. We are going from the 15th-24th and staying at POFQ too!! I hope you have a magical vacation!! :wizard:

I know what you mean about the clothes! My boys have both hit growth spurts recently, and now the stores don't have shorts anymore! So I'm hoping they will still fit into what they have! On the plus side, my 5 year old might be tall enough for some rides he missed last time!

Did some of the hours get changed for October? I got an e-mail from Tour Guide Mike saying that "some" had changed, but I can't find them.
If you go into the forums, they give which dates have changed

I know just what you mean. I found this weekend that DD has outgrown her swim suit. Well, she's 11 and in the "in between" stage of little girl to big girl. Unfortunately here in Indiana, all the swimsuits are gone (with the exception of specialty shops and Pac Sun) so unless I want to spend $80 on a bikini for an 11 year old, or if she were a size 24W I'm pretty much out of luck. BUT, I did find one - at JC Pennys - on clearance for $3.00.

:lmao:haha...i do have some change! But I think that I have $45 Canadian. I keep teasing my husband that I am going to pay at LeCellier with my monies! :rotfl2:I have had this money for at least 6-7 years. I used to spend quiet a bit of time in Toronto! I love that city!

haha! well change is still good! can't hurt to try...wonder what exchange they'd give you? lol i love T.O. too...been too long since ive been there!

Well, 12 wasn't any easier this summer with DD and her swimsuit! She is a dancer, so I had to find boy cut bottoms to fit her properly. Then add in a top for her changing body. In the end, we went through 2 tops and 3 bottoms and I just bought her a new one from Sears that will hopefully sit in a month!

Had the same bathing suit problem with DD 7. We found some great suits for under 9$ at Macy's in Fort Wayne. Now the shorts are going to be an issue. No one has them not even Old Navy so DH better not say anything about how shorts her shorts are. lol

Hey gang!

I updated my PTR if anyone is interested..my goal to keep it from being shut down before I leave for vacation! :lmao:Ah, the little things in life...

I'm going to DisneyWorld for the first time in Oct as a kinda-sorta early 18th birthday present :) My birthday is on Noivemeber 25 and last time I went on Nov 24 for my birthday to Disneyland. It was wicked crowded, The lines were like 2 hours long and It was hard to walk with the crowds.
I'm so excited already, my mom hasn't booked a trip yet so I'm not sure exactly when were going. But I'm guessing around early or mid Oct :) AHH, I can't wait :) We are going for a entire week, yay!

We had to change our vacation from the first week in Oct to the 3rd due to DH going to a training class for his new job. Our new dates are the 14th-20th with MNSSHP on the 15th. I'm stinkin' excited. And the best part is with the new dates I will be off from from the 9th to the 26th so I will have time to do final packing before we drive to my parents on the 13th and then time to unpack and unwind before going back to work.

25 Days until our Disneymoon!!
We're getting very excited, but I still have so much to do! Make shirts, confirm ADRs, confirm KTTK tour, confirm MNSSHP tickets, and buy some Body Glide (no blisters!) ;)

Ugh. Tell me about it.

Here is what I still have to do (and WHY am I procrastinating?! 33 days!)

Buy BodyGlide and Moleskin
Find children's and adult-sized ponchos
Call the kennel to confirm my dog's reservation
Order DS's bday cake for Chef Mickey's
Make/find Halloween outfits for DH and DS
Call the rental company for the house and ask them to leave us directions to the parks, as MapQuest says it will take anywhere from 25 to 43 minutes to get there!:scared1:
Stop mail and paper
Make index cards with park plans/ADR numbers

Here is what I HAVE done! :wizard:

Bought & received park tickets
Bought & received MNSSHP tickets
Bought plane tickets
Reserved rental car
Reserved and paid off rental house
Made my Halloween costume, and bought DD's
Bought "Mickey" gifts and wrapped them for each child
Made ADR's
Made itinerary for what parks/what days, and a list of our must-do's and height restrictions, etc.
Printed park maps
Started on packing lists
Bought cheap ponchos to cover stroller
Bought park bag (Baggallinni :thumbsup2)
Bought soft-sided cooler to store under double stroller
Ordered a custom outfit for each child from etsy (bday shirt for DS, and Minnie zebra-striped pillowcase dress for DD)
Ordered anniversary mouse ears for me & DH
Bought hand sanitizer wipes, first aid kit, and glowsticks from Dollar Tree

What am I missing?:confused3

I don't do an incredible amount of planning, but i wish i did to keep me busy!

Our room is booked (will be paid in full by cash when we get there since the cost is being split between 4 people)

Plane tickets bought

MNNSHP tix bought and recieved

ME set up and tags recieved

Don't do ADRs so thats one less worry (im cheap, sit down dinners are a rarity for me when im in WDW its mostly counter service for me).

Still 34 days out, so buying all the travel sized trinkets probably won't start happening until the 2 week mark.

The four of us STILL have to decide IF we are dressing up and as WHAT. Yeah, we are all getting together to hang out sunday so hopefully that'll be settled and we can order costumes if we have to! This is the thing thats stressing me out most right now.

Other than that, all the little things to be bought and the packing list doesn't usually get done until the last 2 weeks, week and a half because i don't want to do everything now and have nothing to tide me over later!

Where can I find moleskin? And what is Bodyglide used for? Thanks:goodvibes

I haven't looked for moleskin yet, but I believe they might have it at WalMart.

BodyGlide is supposed to prevent chafing and blisters. I have heard you can find this at sports supply stores (i.e. Dick's).

I thought I got Mickey Mail today - because there was a big colorful package in the mailbox. Ended up just being a big box of tampons and pads (free samples)

...so dissappointing...
