We (4 adults) are planning on attending the September 14th party before our Disney Cruise. I just have a quick question about the MNSSHP Photopass. I see that you get 50% off the pictures but can you purchase a CD like the normal Photopass? If so, does the 50% discount apply to that as well? TIA! :goodvibes

How were lines on the rides, specifically Haunted Mansion. I would just think for a halloween party, HM would be the biggest draw that night. Did anyone wait in that line? Was it crazy long?

When I went a few years ago during Halloween, everything moved quick. The longest we ever waited was about 10 minutes. After the second parade the crowds went down. We had no wait.

The Haunted mansion crowds were early in the night. After the second parade it was a walk on. My son and my niece kept going on the Haunted Mansion over & over again. Me & sis sat in those rocking chair on the porch of the store near the haunted mansion and waited for them. We were exhausted.

I have not yet attended - this year will be our first party!! :woohoo: I have read a number of posts on DIS where people have said they received the discount on all 5x7 photos on their card(s). Here is some text I copied from other posts into my "master MNSSHP document":
  • The photopass that they used for that night was a different card than the regular photo card. You could get 50 percent off the pictures on that card if you purchased it the night of the party
  • We just got back yesterday. I want to give some information about the PhotoPass discount. I just claimed all my photos from our trip today, I ended up with 4 different Photo pass cards. I chose which ones I wanted from the whole trip (4-5x7's) put in the discount code from the MNSSHP card and got the 50% off ALL of the photos. It says on the back of the MNSSHP PhotoPass card, "See and share your vacation photos online and save 50% on 5 x 7 prints." Save 50% on 5x7 prints when you enter ID # .......... in shopping cart. Online discount is valid for one-time use only." I got 50% off the pics from all days of our vacation, Blizzard Beach included.
Not sure if others here had the same experience, or whether things will be the same again this year. Here's hoping! :hmghost:

No ~ you should have no problems at all. In the years that I have been coming to the DIS I have never heard of MNSSHP selling out on the first day.

Thanks for the info....It's puts less stress on my planning if I know I will be able to get tickets if purchased immediately.
Thanks again!
Can't wait!

I have a question about the special photopass card for the party, if anyone has the answers to it...

Can we add those pictures taken to the party photopass card to the Photopass CD? Because we just are going to buy the CD and not get prints done of the pictures that we take on Photopass. And if we want, can we just use the regular Photopass card we have? We don't have to use the special MNSSHP one that night, do we? Because like I said, we are just going to buy a CD and not get any individual prints, and I don't want to not be able to get the pictures we have taken at the party.

Do the villains come out after everyone of their "shows". Somehow I remember reading here on the DIS that they skip coming out for meet and greet because of the parade or fireworks, I can't remember which one, or if that is accurate.

I am super excited we are going down Oct. 30 and probably will attend the party on Halloween which is also my son's 4th birthday! I have never gone before, but I do have a few questions for you veterans.

1) Is it really crowded on Halloween night?
2) Where is the best place to eat?(I want to order a special cake or
something)
3) I'm guessing it is still humid so I'm looking for idea for comfy costumes.
4) Do grownups dress up? (I love to dress up, but I don't want to seem out
of place.
5) Is the candy the same type of thing they gave out at the P&P party? It
was good but way too much chocolate (I thought I'd never hear myself
say that!)

Okay if your still reading.....THANK YOU I only have one more question...
The haunted hayride-Do I need to reserve this ahead of time and is it something small children will enjoy?

Any help will be appreciated since this will be my children's first time going and we are also suprising my parents by taking them as well. This is such a hard secret to keep I'm ready to burst--back away in fear of pixie dust explosion!:rotfl2:

We are arriving the 30th, going Halloween night, our first MNSSHP too. My DW and I will be wearing some sort of costume, if that helps. We are so excited looking forward to our trip!

Well, from my experience.... last years Halloween night, for the last show they had for the night, they did not come down to take pics. I was so bummed because at the Monday night party they did come down after the last show. So i'm not sure why they didnt??? I was still needing to get Maleficent and Cruella... Rats!! Other times... i'm not sure of.

We want to do the Haunted Hayride, too. All the info I read says that the tickets are only available for same day purchase and are first-come-first-served. They go on sale at 9am at the FW Kennel. The Hayride departs from Pioneer Hall starting at dusk and takes approx 6 trips a night. Adults are $15, kids are $10.

The hayride itself doesn't seem too scary- a storyteller is along for the ride and tells the story of the Headless Horseman on the ride. From the description, it sounds like the HH makes an appearance during the ride! The hayride is 15-20 mins long.

You can get the 50% off any MNSSHP photos you buy but if you rather buy the CD then you don't/won't get any discount. The discount will not apply to the CD.

You can put the MNSSHP photos taken on the CD along with all your other Photopass photos taken.

This may have been discussed on here but I haven't had a chance yet to look through all the pages and I want to subscribe to this anyway...but here is my question? Are there any costumes (obviously besides anything really skimpy) that we are not allowed to wear?

I have us "penciled in' in my PassPorter to be there on Oct. 16th! We went last year and had a blast! My FIL said it was his favorite thing of the whole week. Our whole family wants to go as Snow White and the 7 dwarves!:woohoo:

I went for Halloween a few years ago. We didn't get much Chocolate. Mostly, we got pixy sticks and sugary type things as opposed to chocolate. This was a couple of years ago. Has anyone gotten alot of Chocolate?

Here's our haul from last year. And yes, DD7 is making a list of all we got.

We got quite a bit of chocolate and on the way out was a Snicker's trough where you could take as much as you wanted. Hope this helps.

Great question -- I curious also, does anyone know? :confused3

Aside from statements like "guests are asked to choose costumes that are not obstructive to the child's view or that may be offensive to other park guests", I've read in other posts that people with really scary masks (like from the killer in "Scream") were asked to remove them at the gate. That's all I've come across - anyone else?

Do the tickets usually go onsale in April?

Last year it was a chocolate-o-rama! Really anything you can think of, candy wise.... they had it.

Last year while we were there, a man had on one of those "scream masks" and they made him turn it around backwards (so the face was on the back of his head) and uncover his face.

I'm penciled in for the same date.
I'll have to get my Focker Lanyard and keep an eye out for other Diser's.
