Can you make a FP+ for times that start before 4pm if you only have a MVMCP ticket? I want to make sure I don't use a day's park ticket for my party day but MDE let me make a FP+ for 3:05-4:05pm. TIA!

You can for any time of day, up to 6:30p. Of course, with only a party ticket you can't get in before 4:00p or thereabouts. So scheduling anything for the morning or early afternoon is a waste, but the system will not stop you.

I went round and round with a CM yesterday about this!! He kept telling me I couldn't make FP+ selections for a hard ticket event even though I have done it since FP+ started!! I had him on the phone for a different issue and while he was in my MDE account he mentioned something about it. He just couldn't understand what I was saying. I am an AP holder but others going with me are not. I purchased their MVMCP tix BEFORE any other park tix were purchased and I made the FP+ selections that same day. This CM kept saying the only reason I was able to make FP+ selections was because they have park tickets.....I kept telling him that I JUST added their regular park tix today but already had their FP+ for the party tix. We all have FP+ selections from 3:30-6:30 on the party tickets yet the CM kept telling me we didn't and when we try to use them they won't work <<SIGH>> I finally told him that I have been to MNSSHP and MVMCP for the past few years every year and we would just have to agree to disagree.
Sometimes it is scary how much the CM's don't know!!

Keep in mind though that if there aren't any FP's for the rides you pick available, the system may choose times before 4:00p. It did for me anyway. I was trying to fit all three in before the cutoff time of 6:30 and there wasn't availability for the rides we wanted, so I had to "throw away" one of the fast passes by scheduling it before we can enter the park with just a party ticket.

We are planned for a MK day the same day as our party day... I've already made our FP+ picks. Once I buy my party tickets, do I get to make three more FP+ picks for the period between 4 and 7?

Would it make sense to buy the tix under my husband's account so that they are separate? I searched your link and didn't find an obvious answer (that could be a user issue).

No, that's actually an author issue. I intentionally don't go into those kinds of gray areas in that thread. People with imaginations like yourself can figure out how to make the system work best for them.

I am going for DISApalooza and will be staying at Saratoga Springs Dec 3-7. I watched the Podcast from Tuesday with Mom(who is 80) last night. Mom said,"We are doing that aren't we!!??!!" The answer is no we hadn't planned to. Well now Mom wants to.
I would really prefer to go on Thursday night. Our plane arrives at 2:05 pm and we are using Magical Express. How doable is this? What is the likelyhood of getting tickets on Thursday once we arrive?

I would be too nervous that the party would sell out to not buy tickets ahead of time. Barring any major airline delays, you could make the party that night but maybe not get there by 4:00pm when you can first enter. In 2010, I flew down on a Thursday afternoon, got into MCO around 3:00, hopped on a ME bus to CSR, got checked in, changed clothes, and was on a bus to the MK by 5:00pm for the MVMCP.

I agree with Maggie'sMom here. Especially with a party getting closer to Christmastime, I would be too nervous to wait until the day of, especially on arrival day. If any little thing at all goes wrong - baggage delays, ME delays, your flight getting to your gate of origin late, bad weather - you could be really delayed and end up disappointed. If at all it is financially possible I would buy them in advance and then it's one less stress on arrival day. This year is my first party but I didn't want to take any chances and bought mine for 12/10 a few weeks back. Plus I have a very nervous-to-fly boyfriend (we get in 12/9) and it's just one less thing for me to worry about while getting him successfully on the plane!

This will depend on how busy the line is, but as I noted above, I have seen it reported that it has closed as early as 10:30

Here now! Having an amazing time. Waiting for the parade on Main Street. The party is not quite as in depth and extensive at MNSSHP, but still lots of fun. Love love LOVE all the snow. It's incredible!!!!

Was 2nd in line at Jack Skellington at around 4:20. Came out right at 5pm and I have to say this was the most AMAZING character meet and greet I have ever had the pleasure of being a part of. Jack is the best!!! We had a whole conversation and he said my name out loud. So worth it. After him I went to Scrooge, Donald, Daisy & Minnie. They were great. Have been waiting since I was a 90s kid to meet him!!!!

Went to Bert, Mr Penguin and Mary Poppins at 8pm. No wait, just a few people. Was hoping Mary would be in her casual attire, but she was in white. Happy to see Penguin!!! Then went to a festive dressed Big Al, no wait! Snappy the Elf and Prancer were meeting by the soon to be entrance of Skipper Canteen. They were SO much fun!!!! Every 20?min or so they would swap out with a different reindeer and Elf.

Skipped the Dwarves, saw them at MNSSHP. Waits have been very manageable. Jack Skellington to my knowledge, is the only one out before 7pm.

Wonderful report - thank you! What time did you line up for the ducks / Minnie / Daisy and how long did you wait? Is it one line for all 4? Thank you!!

I'll post pictures but may not be until around the 1st of December. We're returning from our visit Thanksgiving Eve; DD (she'll be on the trip also) is having a huge family gathering for Thanksgiving Day. Still haven't figured out how we're going to get the meal ready after returning from DW around 9 PM and lunch served at noon. Then outdoor decorations will need to be put up before Dec. 1. I will view my photos ASAP and try to post as quickly as I can. Hopefully other guest will not be as pressed for time and can get photos posted earlier.

I think most of the December parties sold out last year. The Thursday party last year on 12/3 sold out 1 day in advance in 2013 and 2014

You can see TONS of photos on Instagram - just search for #MVMCP. I'm not sure a thread dedicated to strategies and tips is the best place to share photos. Useful information already gets buried in here! Maybe a separate thread on the community or trip report board?
