"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2015 Thread - Rockin' Around the Cinderella Castle!

Was 7DMT open last Christmas? If so how were to lines for the party?

It was one of DD's favorites during our trip in May and when asked what 2 rides she wanted to do again 7DMT made the list, along with Splash Mountain. We want to make sure to see some of the characters and we'll most likely watch the first parade since I don't think DD will make it to the second but don't want to waste precious party time standing in line for 7DMT. We are only attending the party, we will not have any other park days.
Not sure what the lines will be during the party, however you mentioned you won't be doing any other parks. Make sure you link your ticket to MDE, since you actually get into MK at 4pm you can get 3FP+ during the 4-7 time period before the party officially starts.

Campbellzsoup, Thank you sooooo much for all the great information in the first post! I see that you mentioned that you went on both a Thursday and a Friday night.
Did you find a big difference in crowd levels between Thursday and Friday?

We will be arriving this year on November 18th but our flight doesn't land till 10:45pm :( Getting to the resort and in bed around 12:30-1am, our thoughts were to take it easy on Thursday, go to one of the parks that close earlier (AK or HS) and then call it an early evening and rest up for Friday. Then on Friday, Take on Epcot FW or WS (not both) on Friday morning, back to the resort to rest up around 1:30 and then MVMCP at 4pm. However, if the crowds are quite a bit less on Thursday, we may rethink it?

All thoughts and input are appreciated :goodvibes

:thanks: in advance!

The general advice is to avoid Friday parties because they're more crowded due to locals, plus you're talking about doing the last party before it takes a 9 day break due to Thankgiving.

We'll be arriving on the 19th...which resort or you in? DD's already booked us for the Friday party; we'll be doing AK leaving after our Tusker House meal at 2:50. :tink:

Depends on what you want to do and when you want to do it. Even on busy nights, during the fireworks and after most rides we walked on with at most a 5 minute wait. (We cannot recommend Dumbo during a fireworks finale enough btw!)

There are some exceptions (A&E, 7DMT, and Peter Pan (which we found odd but whatever) so those you're going to want to fastpass or do at other times.

Just made our ADRs for our trip too. Got most but couldn't book anything at EPCOT resorts for the week. I think they blocked it out for Candlelight P. Have to see nearer the time. Pleased with others though. Got two BOG lunches!

Same here - was trying to grab Captain's Grill for the 22nd, but nothing was coming up. Since we will be spending that day at HS, ended up grabbing The Hollywood Brown Derby reservations instead. Probably an upgrade, although I haven't been to either.

It did let me get a breakfast at Cape May Cafe for the 23rd.

I don't see what the Candlelight Processional would have to do with getting an ADR at the Epcot resorts since those restaurants aren't options for the dining package.

No I thought it was strange so did the CM re the Broadwalk resorts. Maybe I will try again tomorrow.

First, thank you for reading my thread it makes me so happy that you took the time to.

I went in November when I went to the parties and I planned them right before the week of thanksgiving so I wasn't inundated with any kind of rush. However both parties ended up being a sell out...I never noticed any kind of wave of crowds or it being so crowded I couldn't view or see anything. I would always suggest to you to make sure you go on the weekdays though as when schools out or a non school day is coming that its either crowded by the locals or guests.

Weekdays are your friends :). Again I never noticed it super crowded - although I was only on Main Street to meet Santa, parade and fireworks other than that I was no where near main street

I made an ADR for 5pm at Ohana the day I was planning to go to the Christmas party, but it seems like 4-7 is valuable park time. Should I cancel that ADR and just grab a quick meal in the park or a late lunch instead?

We are at POP Century.:jumping1: I see you are at WL. That is such a beautiful resort! But POP is our Disney home:cloud9:. We always travel with some of our grandkids or one of our kids and their family so saving the money staying at POP lets us go more often and we get to stay longer:love:.

We won't get our tickets till we get there since our MVMCP tickets are replacements from a rained out MNSSHP tickets from this past September.
We were at Disney in September with our middle son and his family and had gone to the MNSSHP on their last night before they were leaving (hubby and I stayed 3 days longer). After about 7:30, it started FLOODING! Everything got canceled, all the parades, all the characters outside, all the outside trick r treat locations and then the party :worried: By the time we got to the bus, everyone was drenched and wading in water up to our mid calf. It was miserable. We thought we were just out the money for the party but as we were leaving, the CM's were telling everyone to see the concierge at your resort or customer service at MK. We were going to MK the next morning before our sons family had to be back to the resort to catch the ME for the airport so we stopped by customer service at MK that morning and they offered replacement tickets for any MNNSHP during our trip but since they were leaving I just explained that wasn't possible. They then asked if we were planning on coming back to Disney in 2015. I explained yes but not until November and they offered us replacement tickets for MVMCP. :worship: I was so grateful! I called last week to see how I needed to order my tickets and gave them a brief explanations on how I got the replacement tickets and they asked for my name and drivers license #. The CM said, yes ma'am, we have all your information here and explained to me that I just need to come to customer service with my drivers license on the date that we wanted to attend the party to pick up tickets :flower1: I asked what would happen if the party was sold out and they explained that even if they are sold out to the public, they can still provide tickets for replacement tickets so no worries. :thumbsup2
It actually rained continuously for the next 2 days we were there. We waded in calf high water down by the bus stops trying to get to the monorails trying to get to our Ohana ressie and then again the next day trying to get through the F&W. That is when I really appreciated our poncho's.

And Thank you again for all the great information and for responding to my question! :dogdance:I think the 2 parties you went to are the ones that we are looking at. They are the Thursday and Friday before Thanksgiving week. I looked at the list they have out there on touring plan for the least crowded party vs the most crowded historically and the Thursday normally is one of the top 5 least crowded parties where the Friday night party is one of the top 10 of the least crowded parties but they both sold out so I'm not sure how one would be more crowded than the other one unless Disney sells less tickets to some parties than others. I can imagine that we will be a lot like you, probably not going to be around Main Street much.
Either way we will go and have a magical time.

I would. Those 3 extra hours you can make 3 FP+ and also get in line early for your top character meet (if you want to meet party characters).

For crickeynp we are grabbing quick service from pesco bills before the party. It is in the MK and really nice. It does save lots of time. Even getting through security can take time on MNSSHP imagine at Christmas! You don't want to miss out!
