***Official May 2023 Thread***

My dates have changed - instead of 5/7 to 5/13, I’ll be down from 4/30 to 5/6...I really wanted that other week, so I hope the first week in May will still be good!

I was following your other posts about it, sorry to hear you ended up having to switch your dates after all. The good news is that's still a really good week. Spring break crowds are gone and kids are not out of school yet. Weather is getting warmer but it's not surface of the sun hot like late summer. It's honestly one of the better times to go.

Thanks! I was a little dramatic, lol - I was really worried I’d be priced out of POFQ, but it turned out to be only a couple of hundred dollars more than my original dates.

I’m so glad to hear that these dates are very good - I was worried about the cheer squads inflating the crowds. I hope it’s on the warm side to make Blizzard Beach and Kali River even more awesome! I’m also very glad I hadn’t made my ”build your own LEGO” reservations...or park reservations for that matter...

I've been during cheer/dance group season before and it really doesn't have much impact on park crowds because they spend most of their time at practice or in the competitions at ESPN. The worst that happens is them carrying on at the resorts but to my knowledge they tend to stay at the values and Coronado.

Thank you - that’s so good to know! I should have considered how competitive the cheer groups are - they’re in Orlando for competitions, not to hang out at parks.

I’m so excited !

Has anyone used the visitor toll pass for their rental car? We only go once every 5+ years if that, so getting a sunpass or something similar isn't really worth it for us. I thought about "avoiding toll roads" with our gps, but I am not sure how much more inconvenient that will be. Just reserved our rental car today through Costco, so travel/tolls on the brain

The one time I rented a car ages ago I just brought my EZ Pass from home because FL is part of the network and they accept it, I don't know if that's an option for you. I do know they accept other transponders from other states as well.

This might be a good ask on the Transportation board though, I know they've discussed the SunPass before on there.

Yes! That's a lesson we learned staying at GDT the last weekend of April 2022. It was pretty awful!

Joining in. Solo. Going April 25th-May 7th. Kind of a crazy stay. I rented DVC points at SSR May 1st-6th last July. Then I added Hilton Buena Vista Palace on points for April 26th-May 1st. Then flight schedule came out and the only decent flights to my little hometown airport were the 25th and 7th so I tacked on ASSp for the 25th and PoP for the 6th, but thinking I may just stay at the MCO Hyatt on the 6th as it’s only $29 more than PoP and my flight leaves at 7:30 am. Also not sure about the first night, might do an airport hotel then too.

Since you're that deep back into April, you probably should be on the April thread. https://www.disboards.com/threads/official-april-2023-thread.3889578/

May 7-12 , Boulder Ridge 2 bedroom villa.

We are trying to hit all the festivals this year.

We attended Festival of the Arts last a week ago for 4 nights for the first time. It was a pretty good festival.

Thank you! No idea how I missed there being a "transportation" board 🤦‍♀️ ...we don't have an ez pass because we only go anywhere(that has tolls) once every 5 years or so(if that). Thank you for the info!

We are so excited about our Flower and Garden vacation! :flower1:
BWI May 9-15

I finally got tired of waiting around for Disney to release after hours events. I bought a 3 day base ticket for our 3 day trip. We will do Epcot Monday, Hollywood Studios Tues and MK Wed. I’m really hoping they keep extended evening hours the same. We plan on getting Genie+ and stacking all day to hit the parks in the evening.

We are still booked at Poly (dvc)but I am stalking to possibly switch due to all the construction around Poly/GF.
