****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

I never answered the questions either...I wonder why? Anyway here are our answers.

What are you Celebrating?
Our Twins graduation from High School

Are you a pin collector? Yes & our girls are getting pins & lanyards for Easter to start or continue their collections.

What is your first full day plan?
Get some sleep (hopefully). We have the last flight out of Chicago the night we arrive. We land just after midnight Orlando time. By the time we get settled in it will be 1:30 ish. After that we have no plan for that day.

What is your favorite place in WDW to have breakfast?
This is such a tough question. We love O'hana. It is a family must do, that unfortunetly we aren't doing this trip. Crystal Palace is tops too.

In order, what are you favorite parks to see?
MK, EPCOT, DHS, AK

What is the first ride/attraction you will go to in Epcot?
Soarin!

What is you favorite viewing place for the following WDW events?:
1. Illuminations - anywhere around the lagoon. This is not one of our favorite shows.
2. Wishes - in front of the castle or from CA Grill
3. Dream Come True Parade - Main street is the best spot

What Resort did you pick and why?
Our twins picked POP. It is like home away from home for us recently. They also wanted the Contemporary but we certainly were not paying for 3 rooms there so POP it is.

What is your #1 Tip for 1st time visitors?
Don't try to do everything. Have a plan but don't worry when you stray from it. It will be here another time.

Will you drive/fly or take the train to WDW?
FLY. The last time we drove was in 2004 & we had 1 less kid then. After that trip I said NEVER again. Thankful for SW & their lower rates & bags flying FREE.

Do you have something that you get everytime you go to WDW?
Dole Whip or 2

What is your favorite activity to do outside the parks during the day?
Pool
Shopping
Exploring Resort

Hey Jessica I'm not sure if you ever saw it or not but our dates changed from May 5th - May 12, we are now going April 28 - May 5, we are still staying at POR though . Thanks for all your hard work keeping up with all this craziness. I also forgot the questions, so here we go.

What are you celebrating?
We are just celebrating being at Disney with our family, other than that nothing special at all.

Are you a pin collector?
We haven't done pin collecting in the past, but this may just be the trip to start it up.

What is your first full day plan?
Getting Epcot out of the way first, it is not our favorite, but it is Disney so we have to hit all the parks, and from all my research that will be our best day to go for crowds.

What is your favorite place in WDW to have breakfast?
We normally just eat our breakfast on the way out of our room, but we may hit up Main street Bakery in the MK this time.

In order, what are you favorite parks to see? (1 being your favorite, 4 being the last one you will visit)
1. MK
2. HS
3. AK
4. EP

What is the first ride/attraction you will go to in Epcot?
Not sure what we will hit first, but looks like it might be Soarin, since Test Track will probably be closed.

What is you favorite viewing place for the following WDW events?:
1. Illuminations - no favorite yet, but as close as we can get.
2. Wishes - I think we normally watch from the upper deck of the train station as you enter the park, but maybe we will change it up this time.
3. Dream Come True Parade - don't normally watch the parades, but we will be this time.

What resort did you pick and why?
We are staying at POR, mainly because there are 5 of us going and that is one of the few we can fit five in one room.

What is your #1 tip for first-time visitors?
Enjoy the magic and pixie dust that is all around you, don't let the little things ruin your vacation, realize that there are a lot of people from all over the world, and that we all live differently everyday. Every one may or may not act like you and your family, so go with the flow.

Will you drive, fly or take the train to WDW?
We will be driving, it is only about 8 hours away and we enjoy the family time spent in the vehicle on the way there and back.

Do you have something that you get every time you go to WDW?
I don't know if it's special or not, but I have to have my turkey leg.

What is your favorite activity to do outside the parks during the day?
We really enjoy spending time in DTD, wich we will do this time but I we are also going to hit up Boardwalk this time and start doing that and maybe we'll do both from now on.

I'm joining in late to the party because it looks like our May trip is finally on for sure! It has been a "maybe" for so long that I didn't want to get my hopes up, but the plan is to book airfare next week and that's when any trip becomes really real to me.

We'll be going down to WDW just for a few nights, May 26 to 29, for the Girl Scout 100th anniversary event at Epcot. This trip is a surprise for my DD10, who is a Junior scout and earned her bronze award this year. It'll just be me, DD10, and my mother; DH is staying home with DS14 and DD3 so I can make this trip all about my Scout. :goodvibes

What are you celebrating?
Two things - The Scouting event, which coincides nicely with my DD's bronze award and move up to Cadettes, and my birthday on May 27.

Are you a pin collector?
I'm not but DD is. She's currently on a Muppets kick so I'm sure we'll be bringing her traders to try to expand the collection.

What is your first full day plan?
Total craziness. The Girl Scout event at Epcot prior to park opening, then lunch at DTD to use my Landry's birthday reward at T-Rex, then a swim/rest, then my birthday dinner at California Grill and MK for evening EMH until the wee hours of the morning. The latest I've ever been in the park is 3am and I'm hoping when the May hours update comes out next month we'll see that night extended so I can do it again!

What is your favorite place in WDW to have breakfast?
Our room I guess. We're not breakfast eaters so we usually just nibble on leftovers or share a muffin in the morning.

In order, what are you favorite parks to see? (1 being your favorite, 4 being the last one you will visit)
1. EP
2. MK
3. AK
4. DHS

Do you have a PTR, PJ, or Pre-Dining Report?
Not yet. I haven't even finished up my January TR yet! When I do I might start a short PTR depending on how much time is left to fill.

Tell us about your favorite experience with a CM at WDW!
Oh, how to pick just one... When we were there for DD10's 6th birthday she was VERY excited to be celebrating at WDW on her actual birthday, and she was telling every CM she saw all about it. We were waiting to get on Dumbo at the end of a Pirate & Princess Party, just a few minutes before midnight on the night before her special day, and she was chatting with the CM who was operating the ride. As the clock struck 12 the CM did something really wonderful - she told DD to stay on for one more ride, "to start her birthday off right". :cloud9:

What is your favorite snack in all of WDW?
The jalapeno cheese pretzels at Epcot and AK. I'm not big on sweets but I just adore the combination of salty and spicy.

What is your favorite restaurant in DTD?
Raglan Road. Their fried scallop appetizer is to die for, and I dream about their Bailey's cheesecake.

What is the first ride/attraction you will go to in Epcot?
Test Track if it is open. Otherwise it is anyone's guess. Probably Living With the Land while we wait for a Soarin' FP return, or The Seas because my DD loves the whole pavilion.

What is you favorite viewing place for the following WDW events?:
1. Illuminations - I don't really have one.
2. Wishes - Over by Crystal Palace, or on the upper level of the train station.
3. Dream Come True Parade - We don't usually stake out a spot for parades, so just where ever we happen to be if we notice it coming by. I like the train station for the electrical parade.

What resort did you pick and why?
All Star Sports because it is the value choice for the GS group rate. With just 3 of us, all girls, a value is good enough and staying at one of the designated hotels makes for easier transportation to pre-opening events.

What is your #1 tip for first-time visitors?
Don't try to see it all. You can't possibly succeed in a single trip and you'll just make yourself miserable and exhausted trying.

Will you drive, fly or take the train to WDW?
Fly. Driving two days each way for a 3 night vacation just doesn't make any sense, and since DD's school year won't be over yet we don't have those extra days available anyway.

Do you have something that you get every time you go to WDW?
A plush for DD3 and a pin for DD10. I'm not a shopper nor do I have any must-do food traditions, but those two things have been constant through all our Disney trips.

What is your favorite activity to do outside the parks during the day?
Swim. This weird early spring aside, even Memorial Day is hit or miss for swimming weather up here in Michigan and we love that no matter when we go to WDW we can find some time to enjoy the water.

Is anyone else looking forward to April so you can say "I'm going to Disney next month"?

Question of the Day:

If you had to pick 1 in May, would you do Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon? and why?

Is anyone else looking forward to April so you can say "I'm going to Disney next month"?

Not this time because I can't say that to anyone! The trip is a surprise for DD10, and I'm not going to tell DD3 where we're going at all because her little heart would break at being left home from her favorite place. (Not that she's deprived... She's been to WDW 3 times in as many years. She's just my Disney baby; she'd live there if she could. :cutie:) So as far as anyone knows, even on the day we're leaving for the airport, I'm just taking older DD to a Girl Scout event.

Question of the Day:

If you had to pick 1 in May, would you do Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon? and why?

Well...we've only gone to Typhoon Lagoon, and we did enjoy it. However, I think I would want to try Blizzard Beach. Though I must admit, the looks of Summit Plummet scares me to death! :scared1:

40 days...I can't believe how quickly this trip is going to be here, I'm so excited!

Is anyone else looking forward to April so you can say "I'm going to Disney next month"?

That is such a good point! I'm going to be saying it the entire month.

Question of the Day:

If you had to pick 1 in May, would you do Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon? and why?

I haven't been to a water park in a really long time, so I would love to go to either.

Is anyone else looking forward to April so you can say "I'm going to Disney next month"?

Why yes I am.:wizard: What I really love is buying the last gallon of milk that expires right at your departure date. :yay:

How is it possible that I've missed this thread for the past how many months?

I'd love to join in....even though I'm about 108 pages late.

We are heading to Disney's Vero Beach resort from May 24th-27th and then heading up to WDW! We are at Beach Club Villas from May 28th to June 2nd. (You see the gap? Yeah, we had a change of plans, so we are staying at Saratoga Springs for the night of May 27th.)

It is myself, DH, DD9, and DD3 (when we go). We usually go to the world in September, but since DD is getting close to middle school, we decided taking her out for a week probably wasn't a great idea. We still will occasionally for long weekend trips, but not for long ones.

I keep forcing myself not to start packing. Of course, I've already started shopping for clothes for the girls, but they need new summer clothes anyway, right? At least, that's what I keep telling myself. And DH.

So very excited for our Vacation! We are spending a night in BLT (the night after my new niece or nephew is born!) then heading for a 4 night cruise on the Disney Dream followed by 5 nights at POR with 15 family members & for my 3year old nephew's first trip!!

May 11.. get here quick!!! : )
