Official May 2011 thread!

I can't find the link for the list of people going May 2011. Could someone please post it here for me?

Thanks.

Ok, so I think I am finally set my ADR's........I changed my sci-fi dinner adr to a lunch time adr at at Yak & yeti, all the rest I am keeping as is. I am pretty satisfied with the rest of my choices, based on reviews.

Now I am just hoping that I will be just as happy with my resort choice of CBR. I am a little concerned about the bed size, my DH is 6 ft tall, I hope his feet don't hang over the edge :(

I have booked this vacation with the free dining plan, would it be possible to change my resort at this point? If I were to change it which one one would you recommend? Also if I were to ask for an upgrade, what should if I ask for even if I have to pay for it?
Thanks

We book resorts with Queen size beds because we are so tall. Yes you can call now and see if there is a room at CSR (the only moderate with queen beds) or one of the deluxe resorts with the free dining available. You may be in luck. If not, you could always get the room discount and pay for the dining plan?

We enjoyed our past stays at CBR, but the beds were always an issue for us.

Have a great vacation.

POFQ is in the process of getting queen beds in the refurb that is currently in progress.

My DH decided that we woulld be ok with beds at CBR, doesnt feel it will be too bad, I did however make a slight change already with my our reservation, we were supposed to check in may 29 -June 4th, but after much consideration to our drive back home and not wanting to be "rushed" I called and changed it to may 28-June 3rd. I was lucky that they were able to accomodate that change and still keep everything else the same like free dining ect.
I don't want to push our luck!!
Thanks for your reply.

I think I have 122 days. I don't think I can contain my excitement!!!!

So we are going to be arriving in Florida the Thursday before Memorial weekend. We are going to Universal that Saturday and then Disney that Sunday through the following Friday. I'm a wee bit concerned about the crowds and the weather. I've only been there in the 2nd week of May.

Has anyone been there Memorial Weekend before? What are the crowds like? Weather??

I am so excited, I just booked the Wishes Dessert Party for May 12th :cool1: This is our first time going to this, we were going to go in September but we had too many other things planned so we canceled our reservations. We are celebrating both of our girl's b-days while in Disney and I know this will make it even more special of a birthday trip for them :goodvibes

I am sooo close to double digit!! :) 103 days and counting.....wait, today is almost over....102! :)

Counting down the actual days instead of months sounds so much better to me!

Made our ADR's and was hoping (but not counting on) to get one for Le Cellier but it was full. I'm not surprised - just would have loved to try it at least once. I'm going to keep checking though. :thumbsup2

Amyz00, I remember you from the June 2008 thread!! So nice to "see" you again!
Looks like you've been back to the World since then. We had to postpone our trip last year due to DD's surgery, but she is doing great and we are headed back to the Poly again this May, another trip with our adult dds & their bfs. I hate to wish the time away, but May, hurry up and get here!!

I'm sending pixie dust :tinker:that something opens up & you get to try Le Cellier. We were able to get an ADR there the day I booked in Nov.
DD#2 ate there in 2008 & said it was by far the best steak she ever ate. I can't wait to see for myself!!

do you know the diffrence between the lunch and dinner???? we are going with small kids in May and they LOVE the lil Eindsteins........

You can go to All Ears website and pull down the menus for both meals. The basic differences from most any of the generic Disney buffets is that dinner serves an additional carving station meat, adds shrimp and maybe another fish or meat and extra dessert. You just get more for dinner.

Lunches are a little less, but you won't go hungry and many offer sandwich fixins (lunch meat, cheese, lettuce, bread).

But definitely check out the menus on All Ears.

For H&V, the characters are ONLY at lunch. Now you can also see the characters outside Playhouse Disney (now Disney Junior) stage area. But H&V is actually just perfect for young kids. The characters played with us much more and more often than at Crystal Palace. At CP, they just marched around in a circle, that's it. I was not impressed by CP at all (for character interaction).

At H&V they do the march but also have a small area where they do all kinds of dances (Hot Dog and Popcorn dance), etc.

I hope you enjoy it!

Hi RCSilverspring! So good to hear from you and "see" you too! Sorry to hear about your DD; hope she is doing well. We had also planned on going last year but I ended up pregnant with surprise DD #3! We are planning on going this summer, but are still a little up in the air about taking a 1 year old. The first time that we took our kids, our DS was 2 1/2 years old at the time. He remembered a couple of things from the trip, but that's it. However, he was quite excited when he saw the characters (but wasn't when too close to them!), loved some of the rides, and ate like a champ!

I just worry about it being too much for her and the rest of the family. We never have participated in a parent-swap either. I plan on going back to school this fall (if I get into nursing school) and that would put me in school during the summer as well. So, we couldn't go next year.

As far as Le Cellier goes, I'm not betting on get an ADR there, but I can sure try! I looked at their menu and it looks wonderful! DH is a big steak eater and I would have loved to have taken him there - he's not into WDW as much as I am so it would have made his time there happier! Oh well, he will be just fine tasting the beers of the world!

Hope to talk to you some more!

Changed our trip dates to May 23 - may 30th!!!! I can't wait to get there.
