Official May 2011 thread!

Hi RCSilverspring! So good to hear from you and "see" you too! Sorry to hear about your DD; hope she is doing well. We had also planned on going last year but I ended up pregnant with surprise DD #3! We are planning on going this summer, but are still a little up in the air about taking a 1 year old. The first time that we took our kids, our DS was 2 1/2 years old at the time. He remembered a couple of things from the trip, but that's it. However, he was quite excited when he saw the characters (but wasn't when too close to them!), loved some of the rides, and ate like a champ!

I just worry about it being too much for her and the rest of the family. We never have participated in a parent-swap either. I plan on going back to school this fall (if I get into nursing school) and that would put me in school during the summer as well. So, we couldn't go next year.

As far as Le Cellier goes, I'm not betting on get an ADR there, but I can sure try! I looked at their menu and it looks wonderful! DH is a big steak eater and I would have loved to have taken him there - he's not into WDW as much as I am so it would have made his time there happier! Oh well, he will be just fine tasting the beers of the world!

Hope to talk to you some more!

Congrats on that new baby. What a great reason for missing a trip to WDW!!!
Our girls were much older when we took them to WDW the first time, so I have no advice for you. I"ll just wish you luck!

Yes, DD is doing very well since her surgery and should have a much better time than in 2008. That's one of the reasons she wants to go back to LeCellier--to have the exact same meal, but enjoy it even more this time.

I'll be watching for updates!

We just booked our trip yesterday! Im so excited:banana: The hard part will be keeping it a secret from the kids with hopes of surprising them. I'm trying to get my parents to meet us down there, my brother and his family live nearby Orlando, so it would make for a nice reunion:goodvibes
We will be there May 30-June 6 at POP

Counting down the actual days instead of months sounds so much better to me!

I need o change my siggy just to see days.
I made an ADR for Wishes dessert party which is awesome but sadly its the last night which I hate to think about:sad1:

The months thing makes it sound way too far off!!

What a great way to end your stay at WDW! I would love to do that but I don't think that DH would go for it. He's NOT into desserts at all! Now, if it were a beer party, then I would say that he would probably be all for that! :lmao:

lol, I totally agree, we would be happy with a drink to go with the dessert.

What time is your Afternoon Tea at? My DD9, DD7, and I are also having Tea on Mother's Day. We have a 2pm reservation. Can't wait, poor DH has to find his own lunch while we are gone :goodvibes....you will love this Tea. Have a great first trip.

My 2 best friends from college and I are celebrating our GRADUATION with a trip to Disney in May! So excited. I go at least once every year and my one friend has gone a lot over the past 5 years, but our 3rd hasn't been since she was 6! So excited to show her everything!

We just booked our timeshare for the week of the 20th-27th! Very excited. Have just barely started planning, but want to look into dining reservations. We'll be celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary and DS' 2nd birthday that week! Also maybe looking at a vow renewal . . . ??

Hi! I just booked the Garden View Tea Room, too, although for May 19th. It'll be my mom (a surprise for her), me and my 5 yo daughter. We are celebrating a belated Mother's Day.

I can't wait!

I am pretty sure it is at 3:50? This was the only reservation that DH made. ;)

We love going to tea. Even DH will be joining us.

Anyone know when Star Wars Weekend is this year? Its usually in May, right?

So I posted in the other May thread but I see that people are talking about their ADR's here and such. I'm bursting at the seams over this vacation and my boyfriend is already kind of sick of hearing about all my planning! (we're ALMOST into single digits!) If I could check-in now, I would! The vacation is to celebrate my finally graduating college and maybe even a job offer for fall! (Future Middle School Math & Science teacher here!)

We are staying at All Star Movies in a preferred room May 19 - 25. I'm trying the dining plan for the first time which I have mixed feelings about but it gave me even more reason to plan! haha

Thursday May 19: Tony's Town Square (dinner)
Friday May 20: Teppan Edo
Saturday May 21: Le Cellier (lunch), Via Napoli (dinner)
Monday May 23: Typhoon Lagoon day (first time)! Raglan Road (dinner)
Tuesday May 24: Nine Dragons (dinner)

Question: should we request a king bed? I know that they are all handicap-accessible and therefore would not get priority, but is it worth it? I noticed the bathrooms in these rooms too.. obviously there's no bath to accommodate. I'm sorry if I'm a bit naive but does everything in there get wet because it's all tile and there is no tub to keep the water from going everywhere?

Congrats in advanced on graduating and welcome to the DIS. Just wanted to say hi because I'm a middle school science teacher myself--7th graders to be exact :) They make me crazy most days :crazy2: but I still love them. Good luck planning your trip and finding a job!! Stop by my PTR and we can talk 'shop' whenever you want! ;)
