Official May 2011 thread!

26!! And, DH decided we are going to FLY!! It will be the kids' first time flying. The entire thing is a surprise to them. They are going to freak out!!

How exciting for your kids!!! Nice on flying :) Driving is great and I do lots of long trips, but flying is so much quicker and less time to try to occupy the kids :thumbsup2

I'm going May 22, 23, & 24 to celebrate my 21st birthday!! I CAN'T WAIT!! :rotfl:

38 days until the big family trip! My mother and her friend. My sister brother-in-law and nephew, my brother and his girlfriend and me and my fiance! (well 37 days for them, i'm coming a day later!) considering we only booked roughly 3 months ago the time has flown! just 18 days til online check in! :D

luckily we have stuff going on every weekend this month so april is whizzing by - May, not so lucky. the night before the trip, we order pizza from this great place. we only order this pizza the night before we go on a trip. i cant wait to smell that pizza, that first taste = start of vacation! :D

28 days for us.
Anyone else with a HUGE urge to start packing????

:rotfl:

You mean you haven't started packing yet? :rotfl2:
I have our suitcases out and all the clothes in them that we're taking but I'm going to do laundry 3 days before we leave so it's all nice, fresh & clean. I'm also using ziploc bags for the kids' outfits to organize easier. Our toiletry bag is packed already as well... I swear I'll forget something if I don't do it ahead of time like this!

I just bought DD's finishing touch to one of her dresses and DS is getting some Toy Story frisbees as a special surprise when we get down there.

This weekend we're going to my in laws (2 hour drive) for our "last" visit before DW so that'll fly by, then DS has off a week for spring break and next weekend we're moving my BIL into a new house so that should go by quickly.. oh yeah, and Easter! In between all of this I may be starting a new job... yikes!!!:scared1::banana:

My actual trip starts three weeks from yesterday; although, three weeks from TODAY, at this very moment... my toes will be in the sand on that beautiful Poly beach!!

Oh yeah! I'm so packing this weekend! :cool1:

Feet on the sand sounds like perfection right now. Enjoy your packing!!

Good! Because for a moment I thought I was the only one!

Me :yay: and we're only at 36 days :rotfl2:

Take the suitcases out. One step closer...

28 days for us.

:rotfl:

All of my kids will be completely packed by tomorrow! I have all the younger ones packed, including the smaller carry on with things to do on the plane. I'm not sure if they will even use the stuff, it is their first time on an airplane, so they will probably be busy looking out the windows at the clouds below them. :goodvibes

I also am using zip locks to separate the kids outfits for each day. Makes it so much easier for them to get ready in the morning. They just need to grab a bag and get dressed. (We do showers at night)

May 10th - Epcot, Dinner at California Grill at 8pm
May 11th - Epcot or MK
May 12th - Epcot or MK or shopping
May 13th - Check out and leave

As you can see, I'm having trouble deciding which parks to go to on my 3rd and 4th day.

We are going those exact same dates! We will:

9th: get there around 11:30, take ME and check in at BWV, then walk to Hollywood Studios for Fantasmic (booked the dinner package at Mama Melrose for 5 pm)
10th: Epcot day - decided to skip EMH in the morning and swim at the pool, probably skipping FW entirely and getting to WS when they open and hanging out there all day. Lunch reservation at Le Celier around 1, walk (or boat) to dinner at Cape May Cafe around 6, then back to Epcot for Illuminations.
11th: AK for EMH in morning, reservation at Safari breakfast around 9:30, hang out there all/most of day, then go to DTD for reservation at Raglan Raod that night. Also, want to try to ride balloon.
12th: MK BBB appt around 8 for DD (DH is going to enjoy EMH rides since I'm pregnant and can't ride roller coasters anyway LOL), the CRT breakfast. That evening ride monoril over to GF for Cinderella Happily Ever After Dinner. back to MK for wishes
13th: pool in AM, flight leaves at 3:30 so ME will probably pick up around 12.

:cool1:Only 40 more days for us! I can't wait!! My kids are going to be so excited when we pick them up from their last day of school and tell them we are heading to Disney! :cool1:

I'm not packing yet, but yesterday I reviewed my packing list (done in excel with columns for miscellaneous, electronic, me, DH, DD) LOL Added some things to my shopping list. I cannot find the mister fan we bought and brought with us last time so I am definitely buying a new one. I think I'll need it this time for sure (will be 30 weeks pregnant the week we go!), last time we didn't end up using it much.

I feel like a total slacker compared to you guys. I haven't taken the luggage down from the attic. I haven't packed anything. I have only done very little in the way of shopping for Disney stuff either. Heck, I just started a pre-trip report a day or two ago. If any of you want to read along, here's the link:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2699534 I'd love to have follow along.

Joining in on the May thread! The kids and I will be picking up DH on May 27th (home for R&R) and drive on down to our happy place. Will be there May 27 - June 9th. :goodvibes So excited!!!!!! Hope to see some fellow DISers while we are there!!!!!!

We have 4 ADR's (we usually just grab some counter service whenever we decide everyone is hungry) this trip. Maybe someone here has the same location/time frame.

May 28th - Chef Mickey's 7:15 AM (this one might change if I could ever get 10ish spot on June 9th but nothing has been open so far) This is DH's favorite and would like it to be our last meal after check out and driving back to our departure city for him to fly back out.

May 29th - Les Chefs de France 2:20 PM

June 6 - Cinderella's Royal Table 8:25 AM

June 7 - Sci-Fi Dine-In 2:40 PM

See you all there!!!!!!

Our dates overlap. Where are you staying?

:thumbsup2

We are staying offsite at Westgate (we love it there - we don't own there but it's been our home away from home the last 6 years - and I got a super great deal through the Armed Forces Vacation club).

Our days in the parks are so far:

(first few days are kind of low key as I don't know how DH is going to feel, jet lag, adjusting to time zone, etc.)

28 - DTD & Disney Quest
29 - Epcot World Showcase
30 - ???? undecided maybe Busch Gardens
31 - probably a water park
1 - Animal Kingdom
2 - Epcot Future World
3 - undecided either MK, AK, or water park
4 - Hollywood Studios for Star Wars Weekend
5 - MK or AK or water park depending upon decsion on 3
6 - MK
7 - HS
8 - maybe MK depending upon what we decide for sure on the other options.....might just be a wind down day, getting ready to head out next AM.

I'm am usually not so undecided this late into the game but this trip just came together about 2 weeks ago. We had to wait for DH to get his R&R dates confirmed and we were in the process of planning on meeting him in Europe.......alas we couldn't find any decent rates on airfare and his dates are not flexible at all. Couldn't bring myself to drop $4000 on airfare alone for me and the kids (I can do one heck of a Disney vacation with that!) So back we go to WDW.......really wasn't looking forward to that long flight and lay overs and transfers with two kids who have never flown. We all agreed that we would try that trip in the Spring or Fall of 2012 when DH is home and our travel dates can move a bit.

Do you have all your plans in place?

I am pretty much set for plans. Our ADR's are set (although I'm not extremely happy with one of them). I'm just waiting till we get close enough to see weather... weather will play a big part in what park/what night for us. I simply CANNOT miss Wishes or Illuminations or Fantasmic so it's been rough trying to figure it all out!

I just took a quick nap and had a dream about Disney... lmao... we were at Crystal Palace waiting to be seated (really I have no idea what this place looks like yet) and a chef came out and brought me into the kitchens to show me everything then snagged a strawberry soup (I know that's famous at 1900 Park Fare) and fish tacos ??? lol... brought them out to the table where we were "waiting" to be seated and then Goofy came out and started playing with my son. :confused3 So weird but thought I'd share. I can't get Disney off my mind even when I sleep!:banana::banana:
