Official May 2009 Thread....The wait is on!!

Hi guys...we are heading to POP 2nd May for a week...mabey see some of you there. We are crazy scottish parents with Texan kids!! :thumbsup2

Wow I have never seen this thread before...

We are arriving at Animal Kingdom's Kidani Villas ( no idea if that is the correct name) on May 9th we are sooo excited. We have never planned a Disney trip before, it's usually spur of the moment thing...this time we are 1300 miles away and it takes more planning then when we were 6 hours away. Ah the good old days.!!

So I have started shopping and packing, and I even have these cute little lables for the pressed penny money holders from the folks in the Disign area...I love this place.

Here's to great weather and low crowds!

Is there a 12-step program for children traumatized by Disney vacations? ;)

It is one month and counting. Am I allowed to giggle and dance yet?

No. They grow up to be grumpy, no nonsense gownups that won't let their parents take the grandkids to WDW even if the grandparents pay.:sad2:

Yes. You are allowed to :dance3:,, :lmao:, :rotfl2:, and otherwise act ridiculous like the rest of us. Oh, and you can also start packing.

Have fun:yay:

I have been doing pressed coins for years but this is the first I have heard of lables. Tell me more please?

Nope, nuts!:lmao: Or they will be when they get there:rotfl2: Or maybe very, very close:laughing:

I remember the olden days when we used to make the drive to Florida with the kids either laying up over the back seat by the glass or in the back of the camper. :scared1:It's a wonder any of them survived to tell about it:rotfl2: Maybe that's why DS hates Disney and refuses to go back:rotfl: Probably traumatized the child.

Hey, we're not crazy! We've done this trip lots of times - in fact, we last did it in December with the same crew except one extra driver. We try to make the trip part of the vacation: new videos for the kids to watch in the van, new cds, new activity books, new toys, and we plan ahead to stop frequently (we rely on that I-75 book that lists all the rest areas, restaurants, hotels and gas stations along the route). No traumatized kids. I really enjoy the chance to spend the time with my grandkids without the distraction of work and household chores.

Good for you! Ya'll have a great and safe trip. We always travel by car wherever we go. The adults are usually the ones ready for the break from one another by the end of the trip. But, we are usually planning the next trip on the way home. We just make sure the trips are about a year apart.

Good news May Dissers!!! Shuttle Atlantis is scheduled for liftoff on May 12th at 1:31 pm, so anyone at disney that day should be able to look east and see it go up, or you can make your way over here to the coast to see it! It's an awesome sight if you have never seen it, I live here and it NEVER gets old!!! NEVER!!!

Just got our Mickey Mail today!!!!! :dance3: Just 30 days left now.

This is going sound a dumb question but... How do you check in for a flight if you booked through Disney Travel Co.? Do they send you something or does the airline or something else entirely? We have always booked our own flight separtely. I'm just a little clueless. My fear is getting to the airport and being told we're not on any flight :scared1:

Still waiting for my Mickey Mail ... 29 days to go! CBR 09/16 - 09/27 DD12 Birthday and DD7 First Visit ... last visit was over 10 years ago!

We'll be at CBR 5/15-5/22 :cool1:
My 8th trip... but our first at CBR! :woohoo:
Hoping to mix relaxing with WDW fun! :cool2:
Hope the crowds aren't tooooo bad! :scared:

I just discovered the DISign area the other day, and there are some incredibly giving and talented folks over there.

HTH

I found it! Now, what do I do with the beautiful pictures? Do they print out smaller or do you make them smaller and print them on labels? I'm sorry I'm so dumb I just don't know what to do with them and they are awesome!
